Does anyone have any recommendations for nearby hotels? As much as I love to stay at a resort hotel, it is pretty expensive. Basically I'm looking for:

-a hotel that is close to Disneyland and offers a free shuttle to it
-under $150/night.
-not a motel, a nice but not overly classy place, like a Hilton or Marriott, etc.

Thanks!

Well there is the Howard Johnson Hotel but I don't know if that is what you are looking for. Currently 120 a night offers a shuttle I think it is 3 dollars per trip it is part of ART Anahiem Resort Transportation. I have stayed there and it is nice becuase you can see "Remember Dreams Come True" from the hotel just the pyro that is launched into the air from behind the park. You can't see the castle effects and pyro behind the castle that well. :p

The Anabella is the one I usually stay at. It's around $90 for the basic room. It's within walking distance (about 10 min to the south entrance where you catch the parking lot tram) and they also have the Ananheim Resort Transportation. expedia.com is a good place to get an idea of what the hotels look like and their prices!

Were staying at the Candy Cane Inn. Beautiful entrance, same side of the block as DL...and price is in the budget.

Whenever I go, I stay at the Fairfield Marriott, which many people refer to as the one with the McDonald's in the parking lot. It's right across from the park and, last time I was there we had a great view of Space Mountain (even though that was back in it's puke colour days- it was a nice view- and could only be better with the new white paint).

I second the HoJo. If you are a AAA member you can get a better rate then the 120.00 a night. We are spliting up our stay this time. We will be spending part of the time at HoJo and then the last part at the GC. Have a great time.

I would also recommend the Hyatt, Ramada across the Street from the park, Park View Inn and Suites right next to the McDonalds across from the park. Portofino Inn and Suites is nice as well! I work for Best Western, and the BW Stovalls is really nice. I also work for Choice hotels, and the only one in that area I would reccomend is the Clarion Resort. The choice and Best Western Hotels are within budget, but probably the least fancy. But I just thought I would recommend them! :icon_lol:

We have stayed at: HOJO (twice), Best Western Park Inn, Park Inn, and Anahiem Desert Inn and Suites.

We would stay at any of them again. With two preschoolers, we like the extra room of the parlor suite at the Desert Inn. All are within walking distance. Nothing fancy, but all clean.

Have fun!

My BF and I always stay at the Park Inn and suites when we fly in. No shuttle, but It's practically across the street from the back entrance, rooms are nice and clean, there's a pool, laundry room and free continental breakfast. Through Expedia we usually snag a room for about $200.00 for three days, granted, we usually go during the less busy season.

We are going to a convention at the Anaheim convention center and will be there from Oct. 26-31. Since we are driving and will have a car and not just doing Disneyland, we are going to try the Embassy Suites south this time. They have a hot cooked to order breakfast included with the room. (can you tell I like breakfast).
