I know tomorrow, on the 17th it would have been a month after the 50th Anniversary.... Are you folks still in the 50th mood and savoring all the 50th happennings, or do you think that everything for the 50th has been done already and that you feel that there is no need for it to be an '18 Month Celebration'....

I personally think that all the hype about the 50th has really died down. Even before the actual 50th, July 17, the hype had died down. Many people were given the false impression that the 50th was May 5, so they all celebrated it then. And with all of the commercials going around some people are still thinking that the 50th anniversary has not really come yet and this is somewhat of a "pre-party" for something even bigger. And for those people who are "way out there", they think that the 50th is the big birthday celebration of............ yup, you guessed it Walt Disney World.

But I think that the celebration has given some sort of "Happiness that Disneyland". New attractions, and fireworks.... Photo mosaics and golden ride vehicles.... Golden Mickey Ears.... So really, I think that the celebration should be a long one, but not as long as it has been planned to be...

I think that the length of the whole 50th celebration has caused some confusion with the "Non-Hardcore Disneyland" folks. Do you thin that this celebration should go on beyond today?

Personally, I'd like some parts of the 50th to stay until late 2007, so I can see them again when I go next then (barring the chance that I win the lottery and go tomorrow).

I Like all the 50th celebrations...and I'm rather glad it is lasting so long because I have family and friends that haven't been able to go yet and so it's great they will still be able to enjoy all of the 50th celebraton.

I think the celebration is great, I'm from Mexico and I went a month ago. The problem is that reservations into Disney hotels or directly with Disney Travel are not available for any country that's not the US. So I had to make my reservations into a different travel agency here, and onvisa (main travel line) has just packages for WDW Resort (no DL) and it's cheaper to go there than to DL, so I guess that's why there is not as much people as expected into DLR. Anyway, It's a great place and celebration is even better. I LOVED THE PLACE!

I believe the 18 month period started 5-5-05 when they started the 50th celebration.

and as to your question, I personnally enjoy the 50th feel in the park.
as an APH, I go 7 to 12 times per month.(sometimes just for 2-3 hours)
and I think the park looks great and I enjoy the Fireworks and parades
as often as possible. Disney is stretching out the celebration for those
who live far away so they to can have an oppertunity to enjoy the
festivities in the park for a while.

exactly... not everyone lives nextdoor to DLR, gotta give everyone an opportunity to "come home".

We went to Disneyland for 5 days at the end of June, and the feeling I got from seeing the "50 years of Disneyland" movie/exhibit, "Remember Dreams Do Come True" fireworks, "Parade of Dreams" and decorations was one of nostalgia. I got very caught up in the history of Disneyland and this trip became more about a walk down memory lane than dashing from ride to ride. I LOVED it and would go again tomorrow if I didn't live so far away and I could afford it. I hope that Disneyland keeps this same feeling long after the 50th celebration is over.

I think it is nice that they have it going on for so long, but I can understand how it has become a little old to some. I really think they did do a good job with what they had budgeted and sure they could have done more, but I really enjoyed it alot. I can't wait to go again.

I haven't been to go to the 50th celebration, and I doubt I'll be able to... <insert sigh here> I hope they still have some of the things there when I can go back to Disneyland in like five years or something...

How can you say the hype died down before July 17th when that many people showed up early?

My family and I went the week after Thanksgiving and got to experience the 50th Celebration and the Holiday feel of the park which was the first time for me during the holidays. It was funny you mentioned the history and more of a walk down memory lane, I felt the same way. Ever since I have gone I have done a lot of reading and searching for historical Disney stuff. It was probably my best trip because it brought back all the old memories!
