yay. any idea on the new show? the only thing i really liked in this one was when snow white says "TIME OUT BLUEBIRD!" and that was about it. only saw it once. i didn't like how the animals just kept dancing across the stage.

08-07-2005, 02:17 AM
too bad the bluebird can only be played by a girl, I am a dancer and I do all of the stuff that ballerina can do, and I can dance pointe, in fact a lot better than she can. but sadly its a family show, so I can't do it for that kind of a public.

Aww, I'm actually kind of sad about this.

While Snow White was certainly not the relavatory theatre it was advertised to be, it was wonderful park entertainment, and all the casts I saw were first-rate.

I'd be interested to learn why the show is closing, and what the new show will be.

Either way, I was there for the first performance, I'll be there for the last.

^ Good call, here's what they said about it:

Snow White ? Closes for a 9-month hiatus, returning for 11 weeks in summer 2006, to be replaced by a new stage show summer of 2007.
Let the rumor mill begin there...

I also noticed this little tidbit:
Disney's Electrical Parade ? Closes for 9 month hiatus, returning summer 2006.
Meaning it be down from October 2005 through July 2006 :icon_cry:

Well after seeing it again last Saturday, I must say that the theatrical joy of replacement casts has taken it's toll on this show. It's nowhere near as charming as it once was. I would never wish the Snow White I saw on anyone. I didn't catch her name, but I heard someone say "The Understudy is on today". It explains it if she is an Understudy. Her voice is just too deep to be playing Snow White. And they've got a tenor Prince. He completely screws up the harmonies.

The Original Cast was wonderful... and now they've got the Current Cast. It's just too bad Casting Directors don't pay more attention to who's onstage. They spent all this time telling us that this was going to be a Broadway show, and then the cast isn't very good. The sets and costumes don't seem as vibrant as they once were either.

Main question: Why put a show on hiatus? Why not just close it down and open something Summer 2006.

Wonder what the next show will be? I'd like to see Pocahontas come back, it was beyond wonderful. Maybe Little Mermaid? And maybe this time they'll actually get talented people. Sigh.

they are put on hiatus for various reasons. most likely it is for a complete show refurbishment making the show flow better. Its not unusual for a DL show to go onto hiatus. Look at Fantasmic, for example. It goes on hiatus every couple of years for a year.
<The next Fantasmic hiatus is scheduled after 50th celebration>-FACT NOT RUMOR

-Last Fantasmic Hiatus was from 2002-2003. Season finale was the after Christmas Holiday of 2002, and the new season opened with the new year of 2003

Don't get your hopes up. As of right now Snow White will return next summer. There are no plans for a new show.

I think it was a mistake closing it. The show has great capacity and when the holiday crowds show up they will pay dearly for the capacity loss. I found it odd that Matt would do this considering he doesn't like closed facilities in DL.

I think the show is very underrated and I can't wait to see it again next summer.

That stage just loves to stand empty. Ever since Videopolis (probably before, but that's my earliest memory there) there's been flavor of the month shows there at best.

Okay, I'm in a total crisis here and please try not to be hateful even though you think it's a failure show. You see, I video cam it two times. Their fine, but there not reallt the best ones. The first time I video cam it, I was sitting on the way back. I can here dialogues just a little bit, and I keep hearing the screaming people and the whistle of a train. The second I video cam it, I tried to sit on the lower part seating that will give good view, but I was close and I had to sit behind it. And what is worst, I'm behind by a girl who makes noises and keeps raising her arms and it's very distracting. And there's another brat who interrupt the show when the Dwarfs are digging and singing. That wouldn't happen if it weren't for those meddling kids! Anyway, I was thinking to video cam it one last time. And I want to know is it really coming back in Summer 2006?

Has anyone seen audition notices for the show? I would think that if it were coming back this summer, auditions would have happened already or would be happening soon (although there's no notice about them on disneyauditions.com) - I can't imagine that they'll automatically get the whole Equity cast from last summer back, as I assume they will have moved onto other projects.

Snow White IS coming back next summer for a final 3 months. I am not sure if audtions happened yet but I know former cast members were contacted.

You mean the Disney land version which was then copied into the WDW version, but then was refurbished to make all the songs fit an actuall storyline? Yeah. I have to admit, WDW's is better, and they would'nt bring back a show that's already in WDW. Animazement is possible, but with newer songs.

Then, they're probably making a sequel of Animazement. Animazement 2! Just like from One Man's Dream II: The Magic Lives on at Tokyo Disneyland. Don't you thinK?;)
