I once saw the Evil Queen. I was so excited I waited in line with a bunch of kids to have several pictures with her. She's the only villian I've seen except for Captain Hook. I would love to meet Malificent but I've heard that the reason villians aren't around is because they scare little kids.

I saw the evil queen on the 17th I beleive. I was waiting for my friend by the bathrooms by the Tomorrowland entrance. I kinda felt bad for her, because NO ONE was near her, or would go near her.:frown: She kinda hovered around by the cast member entrance, then finally went in. I have also seen cruella a lot at DCA in the HPB area.

I saw Launchpad McQuack from Duck Tales at the End of Fantasmic. He was on the back of the Mark Twain on July 17th only. I didn't see him on July 18th or July 19th.

I saw Piglet and Rabbit in June, and I've never seen either of them at Disneyland before. I saw the evil queen last year when I was there. I saw Gadget from rescue Rangers once.

Yeah, Phantom's set is still in the Universal Studios backlot. I'm assuming if she saw him, it was there. As I understand it, they haven't taken it down because it's haunted...

I beg to differ about the amount of villains they have out at Halloween. They have several, but nowhere near "every villain".

They had the Governor from Pocahontus and the Hag from Snow White last year.

...of course I've got the photos around here somewhere.

I think we'll see many more villains this year thanks to Matt Ouimet's Halloween initiative.

Until just recently, seeing Donald Duck was pretty rare.

I got a great photo of Darkwing Duck one year. He was outside a store on main street, for no apparent reason.
I also have a photo of Jafar with Iago on his shoulder standing in the shade by, I think, city hall. That day they were all out and Geni was MOBBED, but Jafar was all by himself.
I've seen Governer Ratcliff, but I didn't get a photo. I've also seen Timone.

If you are asking me Darkwing Duck was a superhero cartoon they did for awhile. As far as I know he was no relation to Donald. Sort of like Ludwig Von Drake. Also a duck, also not Donald.

I wonder how they decide on what characters are going to be onstage when and where. Maybe they take them out for a redesign of the costume inside and outside and it just takes awhile to do. That and the popularity of the character I'm sure is a big factor.

I had been told that Piglet was rare to find, so if we did see him to definately quit what we were doing & go see him. So we pulled our son out of the Pooh, Eeyore & Tigger line & saw Piglet. After that we got back in line to see the 3 characters. When we got done......here came Rabbit (who we heard was even harder to find than Piglet)....so we felt we had hit the jackpot. My friend who is extremely knowledgable of Disney said we were very lucky to see Rabbit.......she's never seen him on any of their trips ;)
We also saw the Evil Queen in the entrance on our way out.....it was very cute, she told our boy to look mad in the photo.....he's ear to ear smiles.....lol

I've seen Esmeralda, Hercules, Lady Tremaine (Cinderella's stepmother), two mice from Cinderella, the fairy godmother, and Prince Charming, the Evil Queen from Snow White, Gideon (who I've never seen before) from Pinocchio, Rabbit (somehoe I missed Piglet :(), Baloo (a long time ago), and Peter Pan (who may not be rare but I've never seen him). Most of these I saw on our trip from July 15-17. There were so many characters I've never seen before!

We've seen many rare characters - we've seen Pocahantas and John Smith, the govenor, with the racoon character (mind is a blank for the name)

Cinderella, Prince Charming, the mice, Fairy Godmother and stepsisters all at once (which was kinda neat)

The cast from Atlantis (my girls gave the mole flowers, it was really cute)

The cast from Peter Pan including Smee, 2 lost boys

Sleeping Beauty, Prince Charming and evil queen and 3 fairies

Quasimodo, Esmerelda, Clapio <sp?> and prince charming <? name - again a blank)

The cast from Song of the South including Baloo the bear

The cast from Tarzan, including the professor, Jane, Tarzan and animals

Mulan cast to include the big mean guy

Lilo and Stitch to include 2 dressed in hawaiian costumes (thinking it was the older sister and boyfriend)

My mind is drawing a terrible blank on names - I hate it when that happens

I saw goofy one time, sure thought I was special. and how often does daisy duck come out. its been my mission to see her and get a picture but I never do so I did that thing where you write into Disney and they send you her autographed picture. the rarest character I have seen is probably the step mother from cinderella or darkwing duck or pocahontas and mekow or ummm... cant remember any more but im sure there are some.

Darn it your right! My mind was drawing a total blank last night -

I forgot some, I found some pix of Mary Poppins, Bert, and the Penguins - which was the first time I saw them all together

I saw, on this last trip, all 7 dwarfs out together, which was a first for me - I've seen a few at a time but not out in the park all together

I'm sure I'll dig up more :) I was taking my daughters almost weekly when they were young (4 and 6) they are now 14 and 16 - we've seen a lot at the parks and seen a lot of changes

Well, cool. My mom may be right. She said it was back in the days of tickets. She was looking through her purse to find the right ticket and was having a hard time. Someone came up and held her purse for her. She found the tickets and looked up into the face of The Phantom. She thanked him and took back her purse. He bowed and pretended he was going to strangle her, she pretended to bite him, he pretended he lost a finger to her and wandered away. She said he kept going over to other people and showing them his hand with a finger bent back like it was gone and pointing to her with his other hand.

I have seen tons of rare ones. One trip i saw darkwing duck, roger rabbit,The madd hatter and white rabbit and alice and march hare together, Pinnochio and Jeppetto together, Jafar with iago on his shoulder, captain hook with smee and Brer Fox. Another I saw Esmeralda and Quasi Modo together, The seven dwarves together, and Cinderella's mice together. Another I saw Pocahontas and Meeko together, Genie and Aladdin and Jasmine together, Marry Poppins with Bert and the Penguins and rafiki. second to last trip i saw daisy (2003). A couple of weeks ago i went and saw Rabbit who had a line from the winnie the pooh ride exit all the way to pooh corner (the store), by the splash mountain picture purchase place and around to where the winnie the pooh ride line started, but i waited anyway. i also Peter and wendy taking a shortcut through tomorrowland to fantasyland and triton's gardens. they were stopped by push the trash can and had a fun conversation with him. im not sure which of these are rare but oh well.

Daisy can only be seen now at the PCH grill at Paradise Pier Hotel at the character BREAKFAST and only if u call and request her. mi sister is a die hard daisy fan and my mom had to do that so she could see her for the first time after 7 trips to Disneyland.

Wow looking back I can remember many. I've sen Chip n' Dale and Goofy in cowboy outfits one time in Frontierland, I've met Pocahontas and Meeko around the same location as Chip n Dale and Goofy were that day. I've met Esmerelda and Clopin but never Quasimodo. I've seen the Genie in person but i'm not sure about his consistency status. I've also seen Chip inhis bomber jacket from Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers when I was ery little I faintly remember it. Perhaps it was during the Disneyland Afternoon time period I'm not exactly sure. There must have been more and I'll bet my autograph books store proof of their existence.

A few months back i saw Wendy. I havent seen a Wendy in like forever. And then like abat outa H E double hockey sticks there came Peter Pan. I was stoked, not so much because they are favorite characters but because I never saw then together before. Then when we got close up we were even more astonished because wendy seriously looke dlike a 12 yr old girl. Man i hope we didnt take a pic with some crazed 12 yr old in a costume who wasnt really a castmember at all. Peter Pan was on something though, he was all over the place. Am i on something too or am i right to have been surprised?

as far as which characters are out when and why sometimes you'll see random characters it is all dependent on the cast members they have available. When you are in the character department they assign you a height range and you can play a bunch of characters in that range. For characters like Donald/Daisy/Piglet.. they are really short people usually barely 5' tall so finding people for those positions is a tough task, that's why you don't see them a lot. As far as Face characters go they obviously have to have someone that looks the part... so if nobody does they can't throw out that face character. Sometimes they'll have a bunch of people from the same height range available to work so they'll throw random people out there like Gadget, dark wing, or whatever other random characters you can think of. They also have to think about what character is where at what time. You don't want pooh and piglet to be roaming the streets but also set somewhere else where they could wind up passing eachother.. remember there is only one of each ;)

He was running around pointing to the sky then covering his beak in shock
(since he didn't talk, I assume this ment the sky is falling)
then a bunch of the green toy story soldiers came out and start screaming
"there's nothing to see here, this is a flase alarm, do not panic," etc...
(typical goverment cover up type stuff.)

it was pretty Darn funny.....

I was low on camera memory so I just snapped a few shots of the happenings,
the shot above is CL getting Debriefed By one of the soldiers
I wish I had space to video this....(Time to shell out for that 1GB card)

^ Yep, you can meet him in the Animation Bldg. in DCA shortly after "Drawn to the Magic" has concluded. Make sure your camera can do night-shots though because it is rather dark inside.

Whenever I want to see characters DCA is the place I go. Well, at least for the ones that wouldn't dare set foot in DL...some just aren't up to that kind of fame and pressure. I really enjoyed seeing Cruella, the incredibles, and jane from tarzan. Others like mickey can be at any park though.

There is a special traveling cast, or was, that took costumes and went around the world with them. I have seen pictures and have caught up with them on "accident."

Minnie came to my house when we (meaning my sis, cuaz, and i=triplets) had the chickenpox

Also, she came to the hospital when my sis was in a halo... metal brace with screws in your head.

So yah, that might be why Donald was gone.

today I saw rafiki 'steal' a baby stroller w/ baby inside it.
it was right in front of the photo store on main street.
the parents just watched as he wheeled the kid toward the cast member entrance behind the corn dog cart.

the dad finally chased him down after a few minutes
(I guess he though rafiki would bring back the child,

I was happy to see the Three "Little" Pigs in the Christmas Parade while I was there in Nov. Are they ever walking around the park not in a parade? I have seen the Big Bad Wolfe a couple of times with out the Pigs.

The last time I went, my family saw Hercules, Meg, Pain and Panic. This might not be a rare occurence, but it was the first time I had seen them, which was cool because they are on of my favorite Disney couples (Meg and Herc, not Pain and Panic)

I still consider Lilo & Stitch to be pretty rare. I heard it's really hard to get a picture with them together. So I feel really lucky for getting a couple pictures with both of them! :biggrin:

When I went in January, I saw Meeko but he left before I could get a picture with him. Back in the 90's, I saw Gadget, Max, Don Karnage, and a lot of the other Disney Afternoon characters. Actually, I hardly ever see characters walking around the park, so all of them are rare to me! :tongue:

I want to see the Peter Pan characters, Daisy Duck, Rabbit, and Sorceror Mickey. I've seen glimpses of some of them, but that's about it. Some of the rarer ones I have seen (though I haven't taken pictures with all of them) are Piglet, Meeko, Hercules, and Cruella (in Disneyland).
It would be cool if they had the princes (like Eric, Prince Charming, etc.) along with the princesses, but I've never seen that before (except for Jasmine and Aladdin).

on our last trip, we caught baloo. the jungle book version. we also got tarzan and terk. ready for a blast from the past?? I have pictures from when i was like 3. friar tuck.... the white rabbit.... dopey.... and a winnie the pooh with a pot of hunny on his head. also the big bad wolf. when I was around 11 or 12 it was when that whole disney cartoon rennasaince was in full swing... tail spin, duck tales, etc. scrooge, launchpad, darkwing duck, pilot baloo, and the chip n dales rescue rangers.

I love the Lilo and Stitch breakfeast!I remeber seeing Daisy there,but when I got there she did the limbo and left:icon_cry: .I usually see Maz in DCA over by the meet and greet where Micky and Pluto usually are(I think it is over by where santa is at Christmas time.),and I sometimes see him in Goofy's Kitchen,and I saw him once at Minnie's Breakfest.

Sounds like you go to Aloha Breakfast a lot! I saw Max at that breakfast on Valentine's Day. :)

I've actually only been to the Aloha Breakfast once. I usually don't eat when I go to the parks (I'm not that big of an eater, so buying food is kind of a waste of money for me). But my experience was SO wonderful that I like to promote it, in a way. I hope to go to it again in the future!

Probably the rarest character I ever met was Jiminy Cricket (WDW). He was out for Earth Day but ever since the new bid, he is now out a lot more with Pinnochio, Geppeto, Fowlfellow, and Gideon at the Village Haus.

well i dont know if this is rare, but when i was at disneyworld i was in line for captain hook and mr. smee in front of pirates (during refurbeshmint) and then across from them came peter pan and wendy, after i was done with these two i went to them, when peter and wendy took a break it was at the same time capt. hook was, and they crossed eachother and totally staged a fight, it was awesome, they were yellling at eachother, yelling "you codfish" and the whole nine yards, wendy was trying to dissuade them and pull them apart, and the cast members pretended to freak out and they grabbed each of the characters and peter pan turned around did his peter pan stance and yelled "oh capt. hook , do you hear something?" and the whole crowd started making ticking noises and hook pretended to go beserk and left.

Yeah, I know. I remember I was working at the Hall of Fame and I went and saw him on my lunch break.
