Okay... here's where we stand. You have 500,000 points, if you answer this next question correctly, you will have 1,000,000 points, and you will win the game. That includes the pins, the hat, the shirt, and the cruise for 4. If you're ready... let's play Millionaire.
Though popular at the Disney MGM studios in Orlando, "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Play It!" closed abruptly at DCA... why?
A: Lack of Attendence
B: Millionaire's prime time cancellation
C: Too much money to produce
D: To Make way for a bigger attraction
Seriously though, I wanna know why it closed. I never got to see the show, but I was so looking forward to seeing it. Im a big fan of the show, even the syndicated version, and I would have loved to see the real show do a week of tapings here like they do at Orlando.

I am going to go with E. All of the above. Never saw it, didn't care to, kinda glad it is gone.

DCA's Milly was shut down because the attendance numbers apparently didn't warrant the cost of doing 5 or 6 shows per day. That and managment was getting the feeling it was playing to the same audience of locals & APs everytime. It's really a shame it closed, that was a really fun show.

LOL I saw the show once and it is not really that WOW! :)
i wish I had the chance to see it. it would have probably been the closest I could have gotten to a game show set.(I'm still workin' on jeopardy)

i really liked the show, but i hate how it was cramped in the side there, and when i 1st time i saw the sign for who wants to be a millionare play it! i thought it was an advertisement for the prime time show,
it felt like u were really there at the $$$ show, i really liked it, but hey, i knew it wasent gonna last!
"C'mon dude, let me have my own show dude, dude, really, c'mon dude, dude please dude?"
thats what crush said to the disney imaginears to get his own show.
it worked too!

^ See, I could try that for Milly, but not being a turtle, I probably just wouldn't be as convincing.
You can't deny their reasoning for closing Milly, they're not making the stuff up, but when I see shows like MuppetVision, HITSA, Golden Dreams & shows like them still up & running, I sorta wonder. That & MGM doesn't have any different situation. What's saving Milly there is that it's in MGM where everything to do is basically tucked in the one corner w/ RRC, Tower & Fantasmic!'s theatre. Take away Milly & all you have over there is the tram tour & Star Tours for half of the park! They really can't close Milly there, but then again we thought DCA also had too little to warrant Mily's closing, and look how that turned out. All I know is the upper managment there told me there's no intentions of closing Milly @ MGM in WDW, so at least we can see it in FL!

I was hanging out at DCA for a while for the photo update. Look for a picture of the Millionare building as a desktop this Monday. You know it's just a matter of time before that whole area is changed. A lot of stuff we're used to ignoring (for good reason) is going to disappear one day.
one happy day.

you know, its hard hearing someone say that, and if it were said about disneyland, im sure there would be some mighty firey words being shouted back. but i think its rather refreshing to hear that about DCA. I think a lot of us really want to see that park thrive, and Im glad the new management is taking steps to really beef up DCA. Even if it means a building gets torn down here, and and an attraction is replaced there. I think the way and the pace the park is changing, in 10 years, DCA will be one amazing park, comparable to any of the parks over in WDW.
ive seemed to go off on a tangent. but im just really glad to see that whole section of the park get new life with the Monsters Inc Attraction

^ Actually they aren't planning anything there right now. It's just going to sit & do nothing. You probably won't see anything done until Disney managment gets antsy about ppl seeing the eyesore of an unused building on their way to the Monsters, Inc. ride. If they were smart they'd re-open Millionaire Play It! in conjuction with Monsters Inc & the TV November sweeps, but we'll see...

It would be nice to see them reopen millionaire... maybe they could even update the set, and rules of the game, as they have changed since its gone into syndication. I have this feeling the set is still intact inside... all they need to do is just rehire the hosts, and turn the smoke and lights back on.
