Well, I'm just a little late to the "Hey, come look at my pictures from the 50th" party, but:

Hey, come look at my pictures from the 50th!

There are pictures in there from the week BEFORE the 17th, as well as pictures taken just this past Friday! So it's a HUGE photo update on THREE pages with over 120 pictures!

Awesome pictures, but when I tried to view the video of the tomorrowland observatron it just went to this page with a bunch of weird question marks and triangles and stuff. I tried to save target as and it just said it was a text document... oh well. Great update! Thanks.

Edit: I got it now. I never knew it spun so fast! :o

Awesome photos! It was a great chance for some night shots at DCA!

I'd heard about the fireworks being cancelled on Friday night. I guess it happened Saturday, too!

Very nice updates. Great pics too. Thanks for sharing. The group pic is funny, I didn't know I was blocking the other guy, either that or he decided to hide. Fun times, thanks for holding the spot in line.

Amazing as always DaddyB! Thanks for brightening up my week;) By the way, when you got there on the 16th to wait in line, where were standing? Was the line immediatly placed out in the pedestrian/shuttle drop off areas or were you somewhere else to start off at? Just curious because we left DL around 11:00pm, and were looking for people in line already, and did not see anyone. -We could have just been super tired and completly missed everyone too:icon_redf

The line went from the security gate down along the northern hedges then wrapped right back down the other way along that path, then it went across the tram loading area to the southern hedges and wrapped down along those hedges all the way onto harbor blvd. Once they started moving the line at 1:30am, they immediately maneuvered it to go onto the tram street instead of zigzagging past each other.

Disney even got on the park intercom and told everyone to "STOP!!!"

HE DID?!?!

Thats pretty eerie man!

wow, that took forever...I didn't have enough time to read it all at once, so I had to keep coming back to pick up where I left off. But I can tell you that I was definitly not disappointed with all that I saw. I thought for a little while that there might not be an update for the 50th. For once, I was glad that I was wrong! Thanks alot for the great desktops too!!

Did you get to ride the new train??

Keep those photos coming and the storys too.Yes, I got to ride the Ward Kimball. I sat right up against the engine. That picture of the engineer is from the seat I was in. There's been talk of how the WK sounds different than the other engines, but I really just didn't hear it. There's also talk of how it's faster, or more eager "off the block" but again, I'm not trained or skilled enough to notice.

I just think the history of the engine is cool, and that it's so old, and that it's named after Ward Kimball who so inspired Walt Disney's love of trains that Walt decided to build his own train set... and called it Disneyland.

I often wonder what percentage of the people mostly just browse the pictures only occasionally looking at the headings, and how many actually read what I'm going on about. Thanks for the kindly comments.

great pics. I was wondering, what is so great about that kimball train.

I invite you to read the following page:

http://visionsfantastic.com/main.php?page=msdlrr

While the train itself is quite an accomplishment, technically, more importantly, the MAN Ward Kimball is probably the most responsible for Walt's love of trains, and thus Disneyland. Because it didn't all start with a Mouse, it all started with a train ...

I've said it before and I'll say it again- your photography is amazing, daddyb! You make me feel twelve hours closer to the park. I love the updates- it's nice to know what's going on in the park every week.
