I know the Disney Magic gets to all of us once in a while, but I wanted to know how many people actually can admit they've cried at Disneyland!

First off, I can admit...I've cried during the new fireworks show. It brings so much to me and helps me to realize that dreams can come true and will if you believe in it strongly enough. I've also cried during the Christmas Fantasy parade. I love christmas, and that parade always brought me into the wonderland that was known as winter and made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. -smile- Yeah...I'm a 15 year old sap. My best friend also cried during the Snow White Musical we went to see all the time. She said she loves 'happy endings', and Disney is chalkfull of them.

Anyway, I'd love to hear your tear-jerking stories! Don't let your ego be bruised, it happens to the best of us! Hehe.

Yeah, I've cried during shows, parades, fireworks... heck, I've even cried during rides! But mostly it's just the little things that get to me. I have the most adorable picture I took of this little girl sitting in Sleeping Beauty's lap during the princess storytelling. Every time I look at that picture my eyes get a little misty just remembering the little girl trying to get the attention of the princess's and crawling in Sleeping Beauty's lap and even offering Sleeping Beauty her Cabbage Patch doll. It was so sweet to watch. I always get a little misty-eyed watching kids in DL. It just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!

I'm a total sap, so yes I can honestly tell you I've cried at Disneyland. Once at the end of the Beauty and the Beast show (that movie always chokes me up!) I cried during the video at the opera house starring Steve Martin, during the new fireworks show, and after my first time on Soaring Over California. Disneyland in itself makes me emotional. I didn't grow up with it, in fact the first time I ever went there I was 33 with 3 little kids! It is just so special to me for a lot of reasons.

I usually get a little choked up during Fantasmic, but it's the fireworks shows that do it for me. It never failed, but Believe usually had me in tears at the end.
I think that the most I've ever cried was during the holiday version of Believe, when my wife and I first went after we got married. I'll never forget: as soon as the snow started to fall and "White Christmas" started playing, she turned to me and we just embraced each other, tears running down our cheeks. As the snow started to clear, she leaned back and that's when I saw one of the most precious things: a couple, probably no more in their 30s, looked down at their newborn baby and were so happy that they both started crying. The daddy was holding the newborn as his wife wrapped her arms around him, and you could see what they were saying as they whispered to each other, "I love you." Watching those shows, you witness the true "magic" as it does nothing more than lift your spirits, fill you with good feelings, and the only way to release it is to cry.

Wow, just thinking about it and I'm almost crying.

SURE! My kids thought I was nuts but hey - it was like saying goodbye to old friends!

Cried during the last show of The Hunchback of Notre Dame - we knew everyone and had a blast seeing the show for it's full run

Cried during the last show of Animazement - we loved that show and again, same performers as the Hunchback show, we didn't know when or what show would be next

Last year - actually in Feb, my last time as a AP holder - I cried leaving the park - literally in tears trying to take pictures - cried during Snow White cause I just wanted to see it again and I couldn't - cried at my last show of the Billies - we've known these guys when my kids were 6 and 4 (they are now 16 and 14) the guys watched my girls grow up - having to say 'see ya later' to them was very hard

Gosh I'm getting misty eyed now!!!!

Yes, I cried when I made a special trip to see the last showing of the MSEP when it was in Disneyland. I also cried on 5/5/05 during the parade of dreams, when I was there for the 50th with my brother, right when Walt says his famous words, "To all who come to this happy place...welcome", and all through to the very end of that parade. Even to this day when I watch RU's video and watch that part for the grand finale, I still cry. Also when I saw Remember...Dreams come true for the first time on 5/5/05, I started to cry when that little girl is singing right in the beginning of the song "Wishes". Call me weird but I got so emotional because I was so happy and full of joy!

The fireworks always get to me, but I've never fully cried. Mark my words though, in 3 weeks when I go with my boyfriend, I'll be bawling. Sometimes things just get to me more, and everything means more when he's with me. I can't wait. The fireworks are awesome!!!!

P.S.- I'm so excited! Get this... I leave on Monday, July 25th, for DL. We come back th 29th, and then we leave on Aug. 3rd for WDW. We come back the 9th, and the 14th is when my boyfriend and I leave for DL. THREE Disney trips with only 4 days in between. Call me a lucky duck... or mouse. :)

Fantasmic. Mickey appears on top of the mill on TSI and the crowd goes wild and I just couldn't help it. I was so happy. Everyone was so happy. Even the CD gets me because I can still remember the feeling.

How ironic, because when I'm there and I'm so happy when watching a show, all I can do is get teary-eyed! :P

I was on the edge of tears for some reason when I watched the 10am ceremony on the 17th, and again during Remember, and while watching the Parade of Dreams. That's never happened to me before, and it's quite a curiosity to moi.

For some reason I always got teary eyed during Parade of Dreams. Some of it had to do with our family having such a wonderful time and I knew we had to leave soon. The music really " spoke " to me. Such wonderful memories!

I started to during the 4:45 video on the 17th... The only thing that stopped me from really crying anything was the fact the video focused more on showing things like someone spinning in a rocket jet whenever she sang "Fly away" or fitting other cheesy things to match the lyrics ;) Otherwise whenever they showed Walt during that(they needed more! :() it started to get to me.

I get a little lump in the throat when I hear Walt say, "To all who come to this happy place....." speech.

I got a little teary eyed when Diane Disney- Miller started the dedication speech. I also got teary eyed when Art Linkletter was talking.

I was close, also, watching Believe in Holiday Magic. For some reason, Christmas was different for me this year. Something was missing. I watched the video of Believe in Holiday Magic on this site, and, during "White Christmas," I teared up. After that, the whole Holiday season seemed complete.

And none of the above were in the park- they were all videos online!

I've never cried during an attraction, but it does freak me out on the Monorail, when your taking that final, slow turn into the downtowndisney station, it just goes so slow, and it tips you and it's like you're gonna fall off.

I've cried during the movie Brother Bear. So sad... heartwarming...

I swear to God, I don't even understand all the crying and misty-eyed souls out there. It's a SHOW for crying out loud (pun intended)!!! Fireworks don't make me cry. Fantasmic doesn't make me cry. Snow White and Alladin never came close, either. I just don't understand what all you folks are crying about. Go buy some Kleenex and dry up, already! Yeesh! Maybe Disney should hire some camp counselors for all the poor fragile souls who look at a 16 year old in a Mickey Mouse costume and start to break up.

OK. I'm being inflammatory, and I really shouldn't. But it's something that I've been seeing posted more and more on discussion boards. It's like the 'thing to do'... announce how you broke down during this or that show for some reason or another. I had thought of starting a thread about it myself.

Disneyland has very strong emotional ties for me. Being a late baby boomer growing up in New England watching "Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color" on television every Sunday night, knowing I'd never get to vacation there. To me, going to Disney World in the early 70's (they only had the Magic Kingdom then) was second best. "Almost like going to Disneyland". So spending time at Disneyland has very strong emotional ties for me, and I go there once a week, probably because of those boyhood ties and emotions. I am 'touched' when I see a small child delighted to see Mickey or a princess. I feel a warmth inside when I see goofy or some other character interacting with a wheelchair bound sick little child. I feel my heart tug when I see a little girl on their daddy's shoulder reaching for a 'snowflake" after the Christmas fireworks.

But have I EVER cried? No.

Perhaps it's because I AM a babyboomer and raised in that "big boys don't cry" society that makes me reserve such things for deaths, births, and baptisms.

So you guys go ahead and cry, but I'll be the fella' off to the side scratchin' my head wondering what got in your eye.

hmm, I almost cried at the 4:45 ceremony (I didn't decide to watch it until 4:10 pm when I was in my hotle room, I practically ran to DL and made it literally 30 seconds before the show started). I didn't though, there were too many people, and I didn't want to feel silly inf ront of a whole crowd of people. . .like you daddyB! lol, I am just kidding. I felt that tug at that ceremony though.

OK, i'll admit it..i cried when i went on it's a small world
(yes, i kno i'm "smallworld_boy, blah blah" but to this day i'm still not sure why...)

It was my first (and only) time to Disneyland/a Disney park..and i was geeked to go there..

We had traveled across from MI and gotten in real late, went to the park real early the next moning, the whole she-bang..i think that it was just that i had-had so much going on and that it finally dawned-on me "HEy Dumb a**...YOU'RE AT DISNEYLAND!" when i went into that ride.
I started to notice how much the ride overwhelmes you (good and bad ways haha) and it was just all so much to take in at once, that i couldn't handle it..i did love the ride, and i was happy, but basically bawhling in the back row, for the whole 15 minutes!
When we got home, for weeks and months afterwords, i could not hear that song, or i would randomly think about the trip and start to cry some more..call me a softie..call me a freak, whatever, but that's my "I cried at Disneyland" moment....

Yes, I admit, I cried when I first saw "Believe, There's Magic in the Stars," and the current show. I think it's the kids singing that gets to me, or maybe the lyrics, or the melody. Anyway, it just brings out emotions, and I can't help myself.

I cried during the ceromony on 7/17/05 when Diane Disney Miller said the dedication speech and when Mickey Mouse came out with the Mickey Mouse march playing. I also cried during Remember, Fantasmic, Parade of Dreams, Parade of Stars, and the movie with Steve Martin and Donald Duck. I even cried when I was on Pinocchio when Gepetto screams out Pinnochio's name right after Monstro.(i donno why) Oh yeah and when I was little, I cried when I had to leave Disneyland. I know, I cry a lot.:icon_lol: But I always have a smile on my face.

7/17/05. Remember...Dreams Come True. Teared up during the Walt/Tink Segment, cried during the finale.

I cant cry if I just watch the show. I kind of have to be taken away by the show.

Remember is built in such a way, that it slowly builds, and then overwhelms you, in order to build such emotions. If I cant take myself away, and not just watch the show, but listen to how the music is layered, and how it flows, and how it interacts with the fireworks, and what it means, I normally forget about everything else, and then I normally get emotional.

Yes! I thought i was just being ridiculous. I was very emotional on May 5th for some reason. I guess it was all of us being together in our favorite place that got to me. Yeah, I cried at the end of the Steve Martin film(the end montage of Walt...he was so amazing, wasn't he?) and at the premeire of Remember... that night. Actually, now that I think about it, every time I step through the gates I become emotional. Just because I'm there!

DaddyB I don't care what you say, Fantasmic ALWAYS makes me cry. It's such a build up: When Mickey appears the first time, and the princesses and the monkeys go by, and then Maleficent appears and turns into the dragon and Mickey slays her. So right at about thisv point in the show I'm screaming and cheering and people are staring at me but it's not until the very end when Mickey says "Some imagination, huh?" that I burst into tears. It always gets me....and I really can't explain why, but I love it and I love the feeling...

I've totally cried at Disney. There is just a certain feeling you get, something tugs on your heartstrings. The New Wishes show in Disney World made me cry. Also the opening number to The Lion King on Broadway, it is so beautiful and awe inspiring. OH! and Beauty and the Beast on Broadway Belle and the Beast dancing to the title song, and also seeing Be Our Guest- live. I don't know maybe it's just part of me because I want to be on Broadway someday, and throw my love for Disney on top of that...your in for one sappy carpet ride let me tell you! lol :old_wink:

I used to get all overly emotional , teary eyed watching the original fireworks show. But now after seeing the 50th fireworks , it makes the old one look like nothing spectacular. Maybe it is the mixture of the fireworks, music... everything about it. It really makes you feel all child like inside watching it. My absolute fav thing about disney is that it can fill you with so many wonderful emotions. ;)

Loneknight

So maybe some of us are more sentimental...I guess for me, it's when I see a little boy or little girl so transfixed on the night sky, that for one moment out of their childhood they are at the "Happiest Place On Earth" where magic unfolds. To a child, watching a fireworks show like that is nothing short of amazing.
Better yet, when they can make it "snow" in the middle of California, and when I see some blue-eyed, blonde-haired little girl sitting on top of her daddy's shoulders trying to catch the "flakes", her eyes about ready to bug out of her skull and a grin from ear-to-ear, I guess that also has a way of getting to me.

I guess it's nice to be able to watch children actually BE children, instead of trying to have them grow up so darn fast in this world and lose their innocence and sheer awe that most adults take for granted.

I think a more appropriate question for me would be..."Ever NOT cried during a show"
I remember even when I was 8 years old getting misty during fireworks and the Animazment musical. But now a days I am a bafoon, within the first 2 minutes I am wiping the stream of tears, yes...even watching the VF fireworks video online :) but thats all part of the Disney magic to me

I cry often in Disneyland (tears of joy of course!) Even when I see the commercial on t.v....( I know ...lame) But I just have such an appreciation for the dreams that Walt dreamt and it's really heart warming to experience the magic he created for us. I cried at 50 years exhibit, Remember, and the parade. And ANYTIME I hear Walt's opening day speech I immediately tear up! What can I say... I'm a girl! :)

Yeah, I have cried a couple times at Disney Parks (specially at Disneyland, It has a lot of memories). Last time was at the Remember Dreams Come True Show, specially with the kids singing and everything Julie Andrews was saying. The part of "A place where everyone who entered its gates, would be given the gift of the young at heart the power to wish upon a star and unlock it's magic, Are you ready to wish upon a star? Then it's time to open your heart and remember . . . dreams come true!" really made me cry, because it's true, every time I enter Disneyland's gates I feel again like a child!!

that made me mad..

yes I have cried [but they are tears of joy], every fireworks show[mostly beleive]. And when leaving the park ;) .

But the one time I really wanted to sit down and cry was when we were leaving the Magic Kingdom[WDW]. [I had been there before but I was too young to rember. We went again in April] It was when Mickey was saying goodbye to everyone, one tear rolled down my face as I waved goodbye. :icon_cry:

*sniff* still makes me cry when thinking about it... :frown:

Let's see, I cried during the parade, the fireworks, and the 50th exhibit, and every time I hear Walt Disney's opening day speech. Especially during the fireworks, I just started to tear up heavily b/c it was exactly like the Wonderful World of Disney but with Walt's opening day speech ringing out throughout the park.

i know what you mean. i've never cried, but a tear or two may have glistened on my eyelid. the most wonderful thing i love about disneyland is that after all these years of going there and practically being raised in there, i love to see other people get affected by the magic. i mean what really makes my day is when i watch a show or parade or the fireworks. the next time you see some form of disney entertainment, look around you. notice how so many people are in awe and enjoying themselves like you. it's truly mind boggling to think that so many people enjoy the same thing. i mean, eisner or not, disneyland IS heaven on earth, and i brings a tear to my heart and eye to think about it lol...i'm an emotional guy, man

Heck yes, I cried! ;)

I cry almost every time I watch the fireworks show. It actually looks kind of funny to see a muscular 6'4" guy dressed in all black start to cry during the show just because of the pure emotion that comes out of it. There's really no word (at least not in English ) that can describe the great feeling that shoots through me during that event.

I'm kind of tearing up now just thinking about it... how's THAT for a powerful show?

first off, i hate Magic Mountain. Magic Mountain sucks and is worse than Disneyland. Second, I feel that ADULTS who watch a fireworks show or a documentary about walt disney should act like adults and not cry. Fireworks are suppost to be big and happy. I just think that we should get more bang for our buck and stop acting like sissys every time you her "when you wish apon a star" there is no "magic" to Michael Eisner or whoever else, just profit. THERE IS NO MAGIC! THERE ARE JUST ILLUSIONS!

Anyone who thinks that adults don't cry is out-of-touch with reality. Some people are more sentimental then others and, although I've never personally cried over anything Disney-related, I don't feel the need to flame anyone who has and does. Ever hear of happy tears?? I feel bad that someone's self-esteem is so low that they feel the need to rank on anyone who lets something touch them emotionally.

As it should! Tears shall flow freely from our eyes, good sir!

*And now, I go back to the actual topic*

There are times when I actually try not to tear up, but it just kind of happens. THE DISPLAYS ARE BEAUTIFUL, MAN!!!!!

Remember always makes me tear up. I had seen it on the computer, but seeing it live just added that extra touch of Disney magic.

I remember seeing Animazement and crying when Pocahontas, Quasi, and Hercules all sing their songs at the same time. I still get misty eyed when I hear any of the songs.

I also love seeing how the little kids react when they see their favorite character for the first time. We watched little girls give hugs to Belle and talk to them and tell them everything they did that day. I remember seeing one little girl holding hands and walking with Belle after the show infront of the animation building at DCA and thinking that is so sweet! Then at Disneyland there was one little girl who leaned in and asked Belle something and Belle shook her head yes and the little girl gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. Make my heart melt to think about it.

Where would I find video of Diane Disney Miller's speech on May 5, 2005? I would love to hear that.

first off, i hate Magic Mountain.

Maybe you need to get in touch with your inner child??

I've never cried at Disneyland, but I'll cry if I'm deep in thought about it, and then realize I'm stuck in boring Colorado. Or when I watch certain movies on this site, it brings a tear to my eye.

That was the other thing that made me tear up...watching the rededication speech on the 17th. Then the video thing afterwards. The waterworks weren't flowing, but it made me misty eyed. Just seeing all the great memories that people have had, and all the ones that have yet to be had. Ahhh...Disneyland.

First of all, I'd like to start off that I love Disneyland. The only time I cry is when I have to leave because I will miss the place. I live only about 400 miles from Disneyland and I could go there, but I'm only a minor. If I lived in LA or Orange County, I could go to Disneyland alot more often. Heck, I'd even get an Annual Pass.:icon_lol:

foamy why are you so against disney magic? you want to revamp fantasyland and you think it's stupid to cry at the happiest place on earth. it seems you want disneyland to be a Magic Mountain, all thrills and nothing else. but it's not man, that's why disneyland is so successful cuz it offers something more! just accept it dude!

I cry at many things when I am at Disneyland, but yet I never shed a tear that much. I always Remember feeling an awesome feeling about the way I see the live shows or even the fireworks live, because I always get this feeling I am actually here witnessing this phenomenon of colors, music, and awesome effects set around a theme of Fantasy, dreams, and Imagination. Now of course my main show was always The Main Street Electical parade and Fantasmic, now its really expanded into other shows and parades like Aladdin a Musical Spectacular, Walt Disney's parade of Dreams(I actually got to see it right after I got off of its a Small World, go figure, I was destined to see the parade, although I must say the Princes in the very last float are very very good looking!!, and I am being honest...from an individuals perspective). Now the parades that I want to see are BLOCK PARTY BASH, and hopefully once I can get a hotel room in place for my birthday vacation, I can finally see my all time favorite parade DISNEY"S ELECTICAL PARADE.

krn"has anyone noticed how long my responses are???sngr85

I cry at almost everything in Disneyland! The thing that gets me the most is hearing Walt Disney's Dedication speech. It just means so much to me, its my favorite quote of all time. I cry during the fireworks show, that just gets me everytime! When I hear the electrical parade song it bring back so many memories, of when it was Disneyland Main St. Electrical Parade. I cry during the 50 magical years Show with steve martin, I cry at the movie in DCA with Whoopie Goldburg. THat shows a sad one! I cry when I take my daughter to Disneyland, and see the wonder on her face, and I know that she loves being there! I cry thinking about the First time me and my fiance Nathan (A_Night_On_Bald_Mountain) went there during Christmas time, and that was the first time I had ever seen the snow fall on Disneyland. We stood right at the bridge of the Castle, and it was just soo cute! I cry thinking about the great memories from grad nite too, and going to disneyland with friends. I love walking through the Castle with my daughter, and still having trips to disneyland with just me and Nathan. I swear disneyland is like nothing eles to me. There is just nothing like it. Nothing really makes me cry as much as good memories of Disneyland!

I got very misty eyed the first time, and every time I see "Remember", enough to where I have to wipe my eyes to continue watching the show. On the 17th, when eveyone sang happy birthday, I lost it. Disneyland is my second home, and when something like this comes along, I can't help it. I've been going to Disneyland since I was a baby, and that's going on 36 years now.
But I have to say, I've never gotten more choked up and teary eyed until I saw the new "Remember..." fireworks show.
I even downloaded it from here and when I watched it, on came the waterworks. :icon_cry:

I'm not the type to cry tears of joy, but very rarely I get so overwhelmed w/ positive emotion that I do mist up a bit.

The first time I saw the Parade of Dreams, I was tired from having to get up for early entry and annoyed because I'd been waiting in the hot sun for around an hour to get a front row seat. But as soon as the "welcome to our family time" music hit my ears and I saw all of the characters I'd loved since I was a kid singing along, I was so, just impressed by these wonderful cast members getting so into making the parade nothing short of magical that I couldn't help but smile from ear to ear and get a little teary eyed.

Also, when I saw "Remember . . .Dreams Come True" in front of the castle for the first time, I probably would have been crying if I weren't laughing with joy and saying all of the ride quotes as I hugged my best friend tightly.

Yes, Disneyland magic has a way of overwhelming people with positive emotion . . .

I had to fight back tears of joy while watching the Parade of Dreams video by RU42 and watching it live. I really get a tingling feeling when I heard that sounds like piano or something when everybody is stopped(Show Stop) The sounds right before Walt Says "To all who come to this happy place welcome" .It just was so amazing... words can't explain :p Disney Magic just has that special way of touching people and some people feel it more then others. :p

The first time that I saw fantasmic. I totally did not anticipate the mark twain or the steamboat willie. the music was soaring and as I saw the black and white mouse captaining a boat filled with characters that had been there as I grew up.. I realized that it all came from one man and his dream. it was powerful. the heaviest one was several years ago. I was about to leave on a very long trip away from home, family, and even country. I would be gone for 2 years and would not have much communication with loved ones. my family made some sacrifices to take me to DL as a sort of goodbye. during a parade (i dont recall which), the music was particularly moving. I looked around... realizing how good my life had been until that point and I thanked God for it. I looked at the park I loved so much, knowing that I would not return for a very long time... then I looked at my family... and I said a sort of silent goodbye. The music.. the environment... the company... it all added up to a very tender, bitter-sweet moment.
I havent been back since then. When we go in march, it will have been nearly 6 years. it will be another moving moment when I walk back through those gates, this time with the person I love most in the world, my wife. it will be her first time. I expect it to be extra special.

For years, I don't recall ever crying while actually in the Disneyland park. I remember a few months ago, I was watching Remember... Dreams Come True from ru42, the premier show video, and I cried in the middle of the show. I can't remember which part, The Haunted Mansion or Pirates of the Caribbean. To me, it was so beautiful how this show has brought all of the quotes from Disneyland rides from the last 50 years. It was so beautiful for me because I was remembering the rides I haven't been to for a long time because they are now gone. I really hope I get to see it in person. I pray to God that I do get to go back to the Magic Kingdom that we all call Disneyland.

I cry when Walt's dedication speech comes on during Remember, and when the Electrical Parade music plays. Fantasmic always makes me cry when Sorcerer Mickey comes out and the music is loud and proud. But the most I cry is when I first get on Disney property (I don't even have to be in the park yet) and when I have to leave.

RDCT choked me up too, just to remember my 20 years of memories of Disneyland.

I also get choked up when I see old pictures of Disneyland, and or certain things at the parks that might inadverdently trigger a childhood memory. For instance the Mark Twain whistle. That whistle has been announcing to me my arrival my whole life.

Ahh, shucks, now I'm going to cry the next time I go. I usually only go once a year, so its an even bigger deal to me.

I cried during the "perfect trip" when me, my brother, and my friend wanted to take a break from walking around so we watched the 50th Anniversary presentation film thing at the theater. I think it was called The First 50 Years or something like that, and at the very end when Steve Martin is talking about all that magical stuff and "When You Wish Upon a Star" is playing and all the pictures of all the people form the picture of the castle, I cried a little bit. Not like I was mourning, but like a graduation thing.

Ever since i was a little boy,
I always wanted to work at Walt's park and when i turned 20 not only was it was my first job, but it turned into a three year deal. My family before me all grew up and worked at the park before me and we always attended cast-previews and movie previews before the general public got to see anything. The first time i "Cried" was when is saw Fantasmic! in 1992 it was so magical as a little boy to see all those Disney characters together on the Mark Twain. Mostly evreything i ever saw made tears come to my eyes from being there on opening day to closing day of shows and parades!. Electrical Parade, Animazement, Light Magic, Mulan Parade, and Walt Disney's Parade of Dreams. All of these things have stood out for me as a "Magical Memory" in my heart. On 5-5-05 i was in the park for the kick off and i was standing in town square with my brother and sister just in front of the Hub and all of a sudden Leann Rimes started singing "Remember When" i just froze and thought back of all the times i shared with my parents and family at Disneyland and how much that place meant to me. I couldn't stop crying!!!. Now evreytime i hear that song it brings memories back to me. When i left Disneyland in Novemeber of 05 it was very hard for me but, i knew that i had left my mark on that wonderful place and i would never forget all the memories i had working there. And that will stay with me forever.

I have to admit that I too, have cried in DL. The last time I was there (May 2005) I was so upset that we were leaving that I broke down into tears on the tram. Finally after I had 'regained' my composure, I realized that I was actually not going to be coming back again (for a long time anyway) and started to cry again. But now I know that others feel the same way that I do and I feel a lot better about my tears shed at DL. Besides, I will be coming back in less then a week and I have no doubt that after my
4-day hopper pass expires,I will cry again.

It is a strange thing, but the a lot of the shows tend to choke me up. I always think I am the only one, but I guess I am way wrong!

The Fantasmic Theme music (...in your imagination...) always bring tears to my eyes. That show with all it's elements hit me like a ton of bricks the first time I saw it in 1995. I was shaky for at least an hour afterwards. I will never forget that experience!

Walt himself was known the shed a tear now and then when something struck an emotional chord with him.

It must be a feeling of lost innocence or something....who knows? But it usually happens to me at least once every visit.

I am sitting here listening to Fantasmic as we speak!!! I love this show. I camp out for it every time I am there. I pick my spot about 4:00PM.

but,
whenever i see a disneyland commercial
well..i cry
when i step foot within sight of disneyland
i start to shed a little tiney tear
dont get me wrong, its always and ALWAYS a tear of happiness
disney just hits the soft spot in my heart
and i love it!
I KNOW THE FEELING!! GOSH I JUST LEFT DL and thinking about it is making me cry!
--------------------------------------Double post added here.
I just got back from DL on thursday and when i was walking down main street to go home, i stopped and looked back at the castle and started to cry, and i was with a group of girls that dont take DL a seriously as i do, so they were like kinda laughing, and that made me so sad, and i went back to hotel with the image of the castle in my mind and slept with my mickeymouse and cried silently..i've been so sad the last three nights, watching videos and looking at pictures...i feel like im being lame but i cant help it..

Oh, daddyb, no one has ever been this honest...................*sobs*......... .....................you must really care! I get so teary-eyed! :icon_cry:

I guess for me, being a girl and all, it is a strong tie to my childhood. I see the twinkling lights in the trees on Main Street and I can almost feel my little hand in my Daddy's as we were leaving.

There were a few lines in the "Believe" fireworks show that always got me:

"I wish I never had to leave this magical place."

"There's magic in the stars, magic everywhere you look. Like pages from a storybook. So find the child in you. Believe that dreams come true..."

"Remember, just believe!!"

See I was listening to it as I was typing and I am teary eyed!!

But I have my Kleenex daddyb and I will dry up. LOL

My sappiest and most profound moment happened on Pooh. We had shared a car with another family which consisted of the mom, dad & their young son. When we exited the ride, I watched as the little boy raced to his grandfather full of excitement. His grandfather gently tossed him up on his shoulders and off they went, laughing all the way. I love to people watch! This type of family is always my favorite! I was so touched by the closeness of their family I could not resist the temptation to say something to the mom. I followed them and tapped her on the shoulder. I told her that I had been enjoying watching her family and was so envious because we had no grandparents around anymore. I wanted her to know how lucky she was. She probably thought I was a nut but graciously responded to me that it was indeed wonderful to have their grandparents with them. I had to turn away because I was suddenly overwhelmed with emotion. There I was standing in Disneyland with tears streaming down my face, missing my mother and mother-in-law! At the very same moment, I had to laugh because I could not truly picture either of them at Disneyland. As clear as day it dawned on me why I love Disneyland so much! Walt Disney is my hero! He was such a visionary! FAMILY! That was what it is all about! Through him I will be able to take my family to share those special moments that he envisioned for everyone. The good Lord willing, my husband or I will just have to be the grandparents in our family tossing our grandson on our shoulders one day! Thank you, Walt, for creating the Happiest Place on Earth and sharing it with us. And I am so glad to know that so many others get the warm fuzzies and even CRY!

Thanks for sharing this story. I am so lucky to be such a young grandma. I have 2 beautiful grand daughters and I will be at Disneyland with them next week.

I agree with you, it is all about family and Walt knew it.

The Mark Twain scene from Fantasmic is so awesome. I find myself jumping up and down pointing out the characters.

I got a little weepy when they ended the Main Street Electrical Parade. It was always my favorite parade. I haven't seen it since they moved it to DCA; I'm a little afraid that it won't be as good as I remember it.

Have no fear...I had my doubts, but it is great. Once you get passed it not being at Disneyland, it feels great to see it again. The music takes you back.

Multiple things tear up this 19 year-old 'tough guy':

For example, the following lines from the Parade of Dreams choked me up and caused my friends and I (all on our college Spring Break at Disneyland in April) to see every showing of the parade throughout the course of four days.

"When you wish upon a star...'To all who come to this happy place...Welcome!'"

"Remembering good times together, with someone dear to your heart, find love planning a future, telling stories and laughing with friends, precious moments you never forget."

The following verse is the one that made me stop, look around at Main Street, the people, King Mickey and Queen Minney, and realize that my God, this really has to be the most beautiful and peaceful place...EVER. It was at this moment I began to bawl like the four-year-old that was next to me.

"This has to be the most beautiful, the most peaceful place... I've ever been too...it's nothing like I've ever seen before..."

Everytime I watch RU42's Parade of Dreams video I start to cry.

Others that make me weep without mercy is Fantasmic, 50 Years of Magic with Steve Martin and of course, RDCT.

That fireworks display mixed in with sitting dead center in the middle of the compass just in front of the castle is something that will live in my heart and inspire me forever.

Reading through here I started to cry and realized that Disney joy can't be topped.

I too, react with emotion when we have to leave.

The last day of Spring Break I was so angry that when our hotel maid knocked on the door to ask us when we were gunna leave I bit her head off and told her to shove it.

I feel bad now but come on, I was leaving the GREATEST, HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!
And she wanted to speed the process along.

....jeez.

I always cry at Disneyland, especially during the new fireworks show, and during the Electrical Parade @ DCA. My Dad took me and my two sisters there so much, that it feels like a second home. Since my Dad died, my older sister and I think of him more while we are at Disneyland, than anywhere else. Even though I'm 600+ miles away, my heart is always there.

This part REALLY got to me last year when I was at Disneyland with my best friend that I have known since the day I was born, and her 2 little girls, who are my God-Daughters. We love Disneyland and go together every year.

It's weird because that exact same verse meant so much to me while I was watching the parade, looking at my friends and thinking, "It's like they're speaking to me!"

But that's what Disney does best, they cater to the Guest and do it better than anyone else on earth. They're out to touch anyone who enters their gates.

I think it's wonderful that you felt the same way and shared that "Precious moment" that I'm positive you'll never forget!!!

Wow, I couldn't have said it better myself! Nicely said! I always get goosebumps and tear up during the fireworks (not only Remember, but past shows as well) and during Fantasmic. They are just amazing shows with amazing soundtracks. I just can't help it...I'm such a girl!

I cried on July 17,2005 when Diane Disney Miller quoted what her father said on opening day. It was so emotional being there with so many Disney fans. I'll never forget that vacation. I also cry when I listen to Remember. I cry during the fireworks. But reading about the parents with the newborn and the fireworks made me cry too. It was so touching. Someday I would like to expirence the joy of bring my child to Disneyland. That would be the best. Or someone on their first trip to Disneyland. :)

I know how you feel, the last time when my parents went was the last time I was with them there... 1994!!!

I've been several times since without them and have been trying to explain that there is now a brand new park!

Plus I've explained some of the new rides and attractions added since then.

Finally they have given in and want to go next year!!!!!
It'll be like their first time attending all over again ;)
