If you could ask Art Linkletter a question... the man who MC'd the grand opening of Disneyland back in July 1955... the man who was very good friends with Walt and Lillian Disney... the man who's very voice sparks warm loving memories in thousands of people...

what would YOU ask him?

I would probably start out with something kind of generic, but still interesting to me, like, What was it like to be a part of Disneyland on openeing day with Walt, and how does the evolution of Disneyland from then to know make you feel?
Maybe it's corny, but oh well :)

No, not corny at all. I'm looking for questions that whose answers may interest you.

That is a great question. I would have asked him something similar to that also. Maybe even some personal questions about Walt. What did they do for fun together? Or, had he and Walt ever have any arguments and about what?

I really liked Disneyland4ever's question. On a similar note, I guess I would ask if he thought on opening day that DL would be as huge as a success as it has become? Was he a supporter of Walt and his dream, or did he think it was going to flop? I would also like to hear a story about Walt, that I have not heard before. Maybe a humorous story, or a touching one. I am really excited to see him on the 17th!:p

I would definitely ask him what it was like to be around Walt. Was it as big a deal back then as it is now that he is an American Legend? Could he have possibly imagined that Ronald Reagan, co-host right??, would be the President of the United States? Did he think, back then, that people would travel the world over to be there and people would make the comment on what they'll do next..."I'm going to Disneyland!!" Was it REALLY pushing technology to do all of those things live, without cordless mics, directors, etc. I know that filming "LIVE" now is so much easier than it was then, with Disneyland being the first LIVE television show (I believe...correct me if I'm wrong...) Did they have any rehearsals? Did he get a preview of the park (I'm sure he did...) so that he was at least a bit familiar with the area of discussion... Was Walt as private with personal friends as he was with the public? Did he open up about his personal life more with someone like Art, specifically him? We all know that Walt did not particularly like having his picture taken when he was drinking or smoking. Does Art know why? Was he embarassed, was it just too personal, or was it not the Clean-Cut American/Disney persona??

Sorry so long, but those are a few of the things I'd like to know. It would be more of an interview than a question...

I would ask him... What was it like working with Donald Duck? (just kidding, if you saw Disneyland.. The First 50 Years film, you'll understand!)

I would ask him to tell me as many opening day flub stories as possible, just because I love watching the opening day ceremonies and laugh out loud when he can't find his mic!

And also, just because I'm curious, not materialistic, I would love to know how much he pulled in from film concessions at Disneyland (one of the smartest financial moves ever).

And I'd want to shake his hand and say thanks for the wonderful memories.

Ya I would ask him about what happened that day and what he felt as he was rushed from land to land in a small amount of time. Thank you Bob Cummings wherever you are for pointing out that Art lost his mic at Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

i would ask him to go to disneyland with me and ride all the rides that was there in the beginning and what he worked on and tell the diffrences and the sames of the rides now, and ask him how he feels about disneyland being such a success and if the small world song ever gets on his nerves lol
