Well, that's what it seemed like after this woman got off the ride:

All I can say is, RIDICULOUS! She's 62 years old for cryin' out loud, and she expects to ride the Matterhorn and NOT feel anything?! And they close the ride all because she complained of nausea and dizziness? Has this woman ever been on a roller coaster?!

Sorry, but this really ticks me off. It's people like this I just want to walk up to and slap upside the head several times. Once again, they ignore safety precautions posted by the park and, when they do, ruin the experience by causing an entire ride closure just so Disney can save face.

In an unrelated case, the California Supreme Court ruled earlier this month that the Walt Disney Co and other theme park owners have a heightened duty to ensure the safety of guests on rides.

Yeah I'm sure that had nothing to do with it :P

It really makes me sad that personal responsibility has fallen so much that theme parks get hammered like that for someone who forgot to take her medication. This didn't have anything to do with the Matterhorn. It was an id10t error that happened to coincide with the time she was on the Matterhorn. If the Matterhorn is in any way related, it is only because of a second id10t error: riding with a pre-existing condition. IMHO, the Matterhorn never should have been closed at all because of this.

The increasing lack of judgement and personal responsibility in this country astounds and saddens me.

You too?

Lack of personal responsibility seems to be the trend nowadays...

....then again, I've never been into trends.

The Eagles have this great song that they released on the "Hell Freezes Over" Cd called "Get Over It". It's all about the lack of personal responsibility and the insane litigious environment we live in today.

I suggest you go download it for free off some file sharing service. It's really good.

(That's what's known as ironic humor... not to be taken seriously.)

well think of it this way, the ride is still open, in fact it opened on Tuesday at 4pm almost 22 hours after the woman was hospitalized. Well all I can say, is didn't she read the signs????????, I have a Disneyland map and Matterhorn has this red symbol with a red triangle and here is what it states.

"For Safety, you should be in good health and free from high blood pressure, heart, back or nexk problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this adventure."

Oh well that is sheere ignoring the rules of the park policies, I hope she doesn't sue Disney for this matter because it was essentially her own will to go onto the ride, and of course as human beings the differences between mammals and humans is the fact that Humans have free will(thank you psychology). I will personally give me praise that the lady survived(it could have been worse), resulting in getting sick. **** Media is giving Disney a very hard time because of what happened in Florida. I hope things just calm down and hopefully the ride will not change at all.

^ Media gives Disney a hard time because it's a huge global multi-billion dollar corporation, therefore it must be evil. Period, dot, end of story.

Isn't this discussion all moot anyway? I mean, it's a well-known fact that Disneyland is the single largest death trap this side of Iran right?

Sad that Disney has to have this sort of reaction now. I don't blame Disney at all for this action. They now have to be extremely careful over anything. As Kirsten said - self accountability is incredibly low.

Maybe the Disney Corp. should sue the woman for lost earnings. Since the Corporation is, by law, considered a person, he/she should sue for lost wages, personal suffering, and defamation of character too.

Just went and found the lyrics... *hugs the Eagles for speaking the truth*
