I'm not sure if we're allowed to make photo requests, but I was wondering if you could get a shot of the Mark Twain in Fantasmic for a desktop. The photos in the last update were good, but I want one where you can see all the characters on the side of the bost. This is my favorite part of the show and I've never been abel to find a good desktop of it. Besides, you said you were going to get more shots of the show with your camera when it gets fixed. Thanks!

Me three, but I'd rather have one of Space Mountain outside at night. It's so cool with it's glowing walls.

heh heh heh... I don't really take requests, but knowing what people are looking for gets stuck in the back of my mind. Sometimes it just works out. Sometimes it's the challenge of it that gets to me.

Getting a shot of the whole side of the boat is going to be just about impossible. The characters there are in constant movement, and it's so dark (even with the spotlights on the boat as it passes by) the shutter has to stay open for at least a tenth of a second (close to an eternity in photographic terms) and people move around a LOT in 1/10th of a second (not to mention the boat is constantly moving!), so everything is just blurry.

But I love fantasmic SO much, I'm going to keep trying.

I was at the resort from opening until closing on Wednesday (16+ hours) and even took my laptop to download pictures from my 1 gig memory card once it got full... so I've got a several photos to work on. One of them I can guarantee will be Space Mountain's Exterior at night.

I took a bunch of pictures of Fantasmic, but really only the characters on the stage (on the island) came out halfway decently. I don't know if I'll have any DESKTOPs from the show, but I'll probably have several more 640x480 sized pictures.
I may just load up my old film camera with some 800 speed film, push it to 1000 or 1200 and see what comes out that might be scannable. Heck, I don't even know if even still HAVE my old film camera!

I don't know if the angle will work...
I don't know if your flash is strong enough...

But if you go towards the BTM Trail where the boat is just 'off stage' before it's entrance, you might be able to get a shot while the boat is standing still. I never tried so what I might be talking about is impossible. I know I have been able to shoot the front of Peter Pan/Columbia this was before.

Just an idea.

The only breaks in the bushes and such to see the Columbia parked like that are a little in front of the boat. You'd have to wait for all the characters to run on following the other scene and there's only a quick second after they're all on before the boat starts to move.

But, seeing as how the boat's in the dark, if your flash was really bright enough to take that shot clearly you'd probably blind all the characters right before their cue. That'd be...interesting ;).
