Paul Winchell passed away on Friday morning

If you don't know, he was the original Tigger and kept doing it up until a couple seasons into the new adventures of winnie the pooh. Jim Cummings took over for that series and did appearances from then on such as the Tigger Movie, but Winchell still gave us the voice for several winnie the pooh cartoons all the way up until 1999.

This is becoming a very depressing period of time. Since May 5th we lost Joe Grant, Thurl Ravenscroft, and now Winchell.

Even some others like Frank Gorshin and Henry Corden.
And here I'd been thinking things like wouldn't it be great for these kind of people to be there on the 50th. :'(

I kind of hope it's Winchell's voice being used in Remember. Probably not though.

He will be missed, but don't think of it as goodbye.
Think of it as T.T.F.N!!!!

^I don't know whether to agree, laugh, or cry at that comment.

I was never the biggest fan of Winnie the Pooh, but you have to admit--Tigger was awesome.

tinkerbell is totally right...as long as people remember tigger and Winchell, then he will never truely be gone...think of what is to come instead of what is lost.

Paul Winchell was a voice on the Bannana Splits and voiced many characters for Hana-Barbera, I believe he was Gargamel in the Smurfs. He used to come into The Disney Store in Thousand Oaks where I worked and talk with us and by Tigger stuff. He will be missed.

Thurl provide the voice for Tony the Tiger, from the Kelloggs commercials. Winchel was Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. He was also a really good ventriloquist, a rival for Edgar Bergen. But his characters were too similar to Bergen's. Jerry Mahoney and Knucklehead Smiff were too similar to Charlie McCarthy and Mortimer Snerd, but he was really good.

I agree, but realize this happened last June. Check the first post date. I will say, it's sad when these passings go unnoticed, and we find out long after the fact...

I've always heard deaths come in threes. Now I guess we know that it's true...

Actually... Tigger, Piglet, and Gopher all died within a week of each other. It was kind of... creepy.

*sigh*

Death is the natural of life. It is normal, when mortals passed away from old age or cancer. But, they will not be forgotten.

Remember, death is not always the end. Let god decide whether they stay on the earth's plane or go in heaven. Or they can visit. Most Spirits are friendly, so don't be afraid.
