Yes, it comes as a shock that not all animated features are from the Mouse. But, what are your favorite animated movies not made from Disney?
Mine inclue....
- Cats Don't Dance
- The Swan Princess
- Thumbelina
- Anastasia
- The Last Unicorn (Need to read the novel.)
- Howl's Moving Castle (Also need to read the novel since I'm in love with Howl.)
- Adolescence of Utena
- End of Evangelion
- The Iron Giant (Brad Bird at his finest!)
- The Triplets of Belleville
- Spirited Away
- Princess Mononoke (Hayao Miyazaki is awesome.)

Anastasia is at the very top of my list...then the chipmunks movie...chicken run...then space jam, I saw it the other day and it didn't hold my interest the way it used to...wonder why...?

I thought about including space jam but decided it didn't count. Then again I never even saw it animated I only saw jordan running around in green rooms with black and white still drawings while my aunt was working on it.
I guess I'll add the first, and only the first, Land Before Time to my list.

Secret of NimH
American Tale 2 "Fievel Goes West"
Iron Giant
Chicken Run
Shrek 1 (not 2)
I couldn't stand "The Triplets of Belleville". I turned it off after 15 minutes.
I can't wait for the coming "Wallace & Grommit" movie!

Wasn't Fivel goes West the same thing as An American Tail? I think one was a subtitle of the other.
I forgot one-- it was only on TV, but whatever. It's the Tiny Toons Summer Vacation Episode. Man, that was funny....

Wasn't Fivel goes West the same thing as An American Tail? I think one was a subtitle of the other. There was "American Tail" then the second movie which had the subtitle "American Tale: Feivel Goes West".

Shrek (just because of the not-so-subtle Disney references), Ice Age, and Anastasia.

Spirted Away (Miyazaki film, and if you all want to know, Disney dubs and releases Studio Ghibli films)
Shrek 2 (just for Puss in Boots)
Okay my mind went blank on the rest, I don't remember a whole lot from when I was younger.

Except for My Neighbor Totoro which was dubbed by Fox.

When was that released? Well anyway I'm sure they were the ones who also did "Warriors of the Wind" a butchered version of Nasuciaa of the Wind.

^ I don't recall myself, but it's pretty old. But good news. It seems Disney bought the rights and I'm guessing they probably re-dubbed it too. The DVD should come out next year, probably spring.

Which is good... Disney does a good job dubbing. Plus they don't cut things out like other do... which is what the people at Ghibli wanted.

^ Road To El Dorado was real quirky. I mostly remember the butt shots in that one though.

The Hobbit was a great one, which also had Thurl Ravenscroft and Paul Frees as voices.
The Secret of Nimh made by Don Bluth who is an ex-Disney animator
The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe
Oddly enough, all three of these I used to watch on the Disney Channel as a kid. Kinda a weird tie to a non-Disney animated thread.

Heavy Metal (there's an obscure one for you)

Very good movie. And another tie to Disney cartoons is The Black Cauldron, although being a Disney cartoon used the same animation from Heavy Metal.
Wizards was also a good movie.
