Allrightie, so we basically know who's going to be there on the 17th, but who's going to be there on the 15th? It is Space Mountain's opening day after all. Even if you've ridden it during the soft opening, being at a coaster's opening day is still pretty fun stuff. This will be the 5th coaster opening day for me after Goliath, Deja Vu, X & Scream! over at the Mountain. So go ahead and let us all know if you plan to attend this Friday 7/15. If we get enough then I'll start on a phone list and get a VF meeting time & place together like on the 17th. :cool:

Unfortunately, we are going to be in Valencia California on the 17th and won't get to Disneyland until I think the 21st. Now for the good news. I will be staying at the DLR for 9 whole days! I'll be there on Sept 24. I know it's far in advance but I figure there might be more people that way. My birthday is the 28th which is a Wednesday. And it so happens Executioner's brother's birthday is on Sept 24, so they said they might go. I'll be staying at the Alamo Inn. (http://www.alamoinnandsuites.com/) which from what I've heard is the cheapest place. I think if everyone who plans to stay overnight stayed at the same motel then we could rendezvous at the lobby before even entering the park.

I am down to go any day that I can. Weekends are the best for me seeing as work is the big issue. Well that and money, but that is why I am working to be able do these things. Eh, Vegas would have worked if I had any desire at all to gamble, which I don't really. Would have also worked if I had any desire to get drunk off my a** & pretend I'm a black pimp for a few nights...nope. I'm not really into the kind of lifestyle that requires a "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" to make it seem ok. Disneyland's always been a sort of tradition for me to have my birthday at, but maybe this time I'll walk on the wild side & pay a visit to the Golden Valley Winery? :cool:

I'm not the gamblin' type myself. I like to drink, but not like that. My girlfriend at the time took me and we went to Laughlin, I had only been to Vegas once when I was in 5th grade and it wasn't to the strip, so it was more of a sight seeing trip. Anyway, my family always took us the day before winter break and we would celebrate my B-Day then, so I still try to go around my b-day. Anyway, have fun. I still am planning for September as marked in the calender and hopefully before that too.

They're only charging $62 a night so I don't think you're going to find a better deal, anyway, especially walking distance of the park! If you are not planning on staying overnight, we will meet between the exit to Innoventions and the entrance to Redd Rocket's Pizza Port, next to the payphones at 3:00PM on both days. I advise anyone planning to go to IM or PM me with your cell phone number, and I'll also give mine to you.

I thought the same thing. So I checked online. There are two places in the AP section of the site where they post the blockout dates. The first one is just the quick view of the current month and the next month. On that view it showed it as not blocked out. You can also download the year view in PDF format. That version said that it was blocked out. That is when I called the hotline. The recording says it is not blocked out. I am going to take that as the official word. This weekend tends to be a bit quieter because many schools have started or are starting. Those schools that haven't started I think people wait until the next weekend to take advantage of the holiday. That is the only thing I can figure. Either way, I am just glad it isn't blocked out. I am going regardless. Hope to see people there.

Personally I always feel comfortable having a confirmation one way or another from a voice with a name when stuff like this happens.

The only problem with next weekend, besides the fact that I won't be in town, is that it is going to be very busy.

I think this weekend should be a bit lighter.

As for others joining. I did see that a few other VFers are going to be there on Saturday. Not sure if people always check the "Meetings" section.

Even though I was unable to meet at the last two organized VF meets (well, I was there on May 5th but I didn't get to the meeting spot on time) my recollection is that a time was chosen, I think it was 2 pm and the meeting place was at the bottom of the exit ramp from Innoventions. This spot is never busy even on summer weekends. I am not saying that we need to meet at 2 that was just what they have done in the past. PeopleMoverMatt will probably PM us with a suggested time and list of names and numbers today (I hope) so that we can hook up during the day.

As for meeting and hanging out. There was never any expectation given in the past. I think that some smaller groups would hang out all day and others may go off on their own and just meet up for certain rides or for meals.

Seeing as this looks to be a smaller group I would imagine we would hang out together for a while but if anyone needed to go off and do something that would be fine. I know that I have been tasked to buy certain collectables and other Disney paraphernalia for my family and I wouldn't expect you guys to hang out while I did that.

The main goal for this meet is to see the ELP so I am sure we will want to meet prior to that.

Anyone else who has been to these meets in the past please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

There's really nothing special that goes on, we meet & hang out, ride stuff & won't miss the Electrical Parade to be sure. I think 11am is a good time so at least some of us can be there & the others can call in upon arrival & we'll meet up with you on the fly like JungleBookMan did not too long ago. I'll PM the three I have info from with everyone's contact info including mine so there won't be any problems. I'll send it probably around 11pm tonight so people have the maximum time to say they want to come if they want to. If you want to be sure to catch the Electrical Parade one more time, let us know you'll be there! :smile:

my kids wanted to see "aly and A.J." from the disney channel,
they were playing the afternoon slots at club buzz.
we caught the 330 performance and tryied to get autographs afterword,
but that was a complete fiasco. very poor planing by DL CM's on that one.
But I have to give securrity a big thumbs up.

at the show (we arrived 40 minutes prior)
some lady with her little girl litterally shoved he way infornt of us
(pushing my 3 kids aside) as the show started.
I tapped her shoulder and told her she need not shove in and politly asked her to move.
she turned to me and rudely said "I DON'T GIVE A F***!!!!"

well, I stayed calm, and walked over to the guard by the soundboard and explained the situation.
he got his supervisor and they both came over,
the supervisor tapped her on her shoulder to talk to her,
and she waved him off, he then grabbed her shoulder, spun her around
and told her to get her kid, then he removed this lady
(i use this term very lightly) from the area.

nice to see them helping out with rude guest.

The show info is only available on the inpark "entertainment times guides"
(you know those white sheets they hand out with the maps...)

We just happened to check it on friday afternoon when we were there,
and saw they would be there thru today.
(it was too late on friday as there last show was 330)

We caught their last show both yesterday and this afternoon!
I have a lot of good pictures and some video of the girls as well.
(I got 7 songs on video between the two days)

I wonder if anyone has been to all the parks. I also wonder why isn't there a park in Australia? There are none in the southern hemisphere that I am aware of, and the fact that it's an English speaking country helps because then you can even use the same ride soundtracks that they use in Disneyland or WDW and not have to hire translators. And even when they do get translators, some voices just cabn't be duplicated (Paul Frees for example). The ghost host on the soundtrack for Phantom Manor at DIsneyland Paris doesn't even sound scary. Instead of Paris they should have picked London

There is a meeting on the 23 and 24. The URL below has all the info. As far as crowds I went on Saturday, Sept 25 last year and the longest wait time was 30 minutes. 15 minutes was typical. The only complaint I had was the 88? heat.

-School
-I only go if my whole family does
-I cant go as early as you ppl do

-oh did i mention, i have no way to get there!

I'm going to be at the park this coming Saturday evening (around 6'ish) with my wife and then again (without the Mrs.) early on Sunday morning to use my brand new camera. I'll most likely be wearing my black Miller Lite Racing jacket on Saturday night and a black VF shirt on Sunday. If anyone's there and notices me, tap me on the shoulder and say HI!

I'm definitely going. If anyone going has cards of VF I'd like to have them at my shop because I tell a lot of families about this website. I have quite a few Disneyland ride models in the donut display case (here, have an Autopia flavored donut!) so families (and some adults with no children for that matter) really like them and I mention VF and I write down the website URL on a notepad. So I could literally use about 200 or so cards. If you can't spare that many then any amount is better than nothing

Great! I would say, Lets all meet at the park at around 12ish by the Virtual magic kingdom booth/Innoventions exit/Tomorrowland payphones. Around that area. (I will have a green backpack on) and get a fast pass for space mountain so who ever is going we can all ride together. Then after that I say we all have a "VF Meet" Lunch At New Orleans Square. Then hang out for the whole day with out "VF Buddies" The park is open from 9am-12pm and HM is closed becuase HMH is being taken down.
