Water or Subs?

I voted no for the same reason, but at the same time a Submarine Voyage based on a film has little/no place Future War. The Seas attraction works because of it's educational aspects. A sub attraction would have to tie in to the aquarium, but the costs of that would be astronomical.

I don't think so I liked the Nemo ride they have there liked stated above the cost would be just to great to build the water tank and the subs. Leave the subs at Disneyland and The Seas With Nemo and Friends at Epcot's Future World.

Having been on both quite a few times, I can say while the Seas w/ Nemo & Friends & the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage aren't the exact same ride per se, there is about 6 or so minutes of Pixar animation content that IS exactly the same and is being used in both rides. It was a way of saving money between the 2 "new" attractions.

So while even though riders are in a different vehicle in a little different environment, they are basically having the same ride experience in terms of the Finding Nemo content. Since that is the case, neither attraction can be cloned/imported into either US Disney Resort.

Living Seas was dead five years ago. Sea Base Alpha didn't do a thing for people. At least the clown-fish has something that brings in an audience.

No, it'd cost way to much, and the fact that disney filled in the lagoon in WDW, and put in jolly ol' but not so fun pooh bear, shows that they don't want a submarine ride.

Nemo provides something familiar that's marketable and recognizeable. That makes it easier to convince current and future WDW guests that it's worth their time to see the attraction.

However, it doesn't mean that "The Living Seas" with SeaBase Alpha wasn't worth their time. They probably just didn't receive hardly any marketing, or any notification at all of the attraction's presence. That, combined with the lack of a reconigzeable character, makes it a lot harder to attract guests. But is that the attraction's fault? Or is it WDW basically giving up on what was a good attraction in favor of taking the easy way out?

The Living Seas was an incredible attraction 15 years ago when it still had the Sea Cabs, the Hydrolaters were incredibly unique and an aquarium that size was rare. Most major cities now have comparable aquariums, which makes Living Seas as it was less unique. Losing the Sea Cabs really hurt, and unfortunately, the shaking floors of the Hydrolators simply aren't enough to warrant advertising. As much I like the concept of Seabase Alpha, it was a very 80's idea that desperately needed to update.

The original idea was to give Living Seas a Little Mermaid-overlay. Frankly, I'd rather real fish than mythical creatures be the advertising point.

Umm... for all intents and purposes, it is there. Granted there are no submarines but it is (in my opinion) a superior ride. The wait is much shorter, the number of people it can take at once is much greater, it is constant circulation, and therefore, a better ride. You are essentially getting the same ride in a clam instead of a sub.

No! I would love to see a submarine ride brought back to WDW, but not Pixar related. I never got to ride 20k under the sea (but I saw an excellent video) and would like to see that brought back, but what are the chances of doing that?!?
