Unfortunately, it's no joke. The previous title for this movie was "South of the Border". Drew Barrymore voices a pampered lapdog separated from her owner in Mexico and befriended by local mutts. It was in the Hollywood Reporter last year.

It's Look Who's Talking Now with the added corney Disney plot of "self centered protagonist learns a valuable lesson" about something or other. :icon_roll The worst Disney cliché. I was hoping Disney was getting past this hokey stuff. :frown:

Yeah when I saw the poster and then saw the Disney logo the first thought through my mind was "you're kidding, right?"

*sigh*

*shelves it with Snow Dogs*

I think the poster is meant to be ironic, not to actually reflect the story. Here's Coming Soon's plot summary (http://www.comingsoon.net/films.php?id=20903):

In the Disney comedy, "Beverly Hills Chihuahua," a pampered Beverly Hills Chihuahua named Chloe (voice of Drew Barrymore) finds herself accidentally lost in the mean streets of Mexico without a day spa or Rodeo Drive boutique anywhere in sight. Now alone for the first time in her spoiled life, she must rely on some unexpected new friends including a street-hardened German Shepherd named Delgado (voice of Andy Garcia) and an amorous pup named Papi (voice of George Lopez) — to lend her a paw and help her to find her inner strength on their incredible journey back home.

Can you imagine the pitch for this movie?
"It's The Incredible Journey meets Clueless."

ooooooooooh boy. It's going to get bad reviews, and no one will see it. Yet Disney doesn't learn...

Pixar doesn't have lots of animal movies. Lets see... Finding Nemo, and Ratatoullie, thats about it. Now dreamworks is the one cranking out animal movies.
