Due to increasing popularity of the VF Radio broadcasts, we are increasingly reaching our maximum 30/30 listeners. As a result, we will begin disconnecting users from the service during peak times if the user has been listening to VF Radio for more than 16 consecutive hours.
Thank you for your cooperation,

I think I know the answer to that one, they need to get more bandwidth, or upgrade, and thats costs money ! lol

It was upped once, from 10 to 20. The problem comes from people listening to it, then walking away and staying logged in instead of exiting. If you're done listening, please exit. That's the best way to keep things running smoothly!

If its ran threw Live365.com they can upgrade to allow more listeners, but again like in the past post it does cost more money to expand.

Well I was thinking about starting a Disney station aside from my christian rock station.
Its alot of fun running a station more so than listening at times because of all the emails you get from bands and artist wanting you to consider there songs for air play. So the benefits out weigh the cost.

VF Radio is run as a customized Shoutcast station directly from the VF server, the same server that operates the website, email, etc. We honestly would not be able to afford a Live365 station; their prices have become too high, and a Live365 station would not have the request system we have.
So, while we are limited to a certain number of listeners, the benefits of the Request system, along with a fairly high quality broadcast, make up for it.

^ Agreed.
I don't think there is big enough of a demand to change the way it is now, as long as everyone exits.

I run a station sometimes, so my friends can get on, and i've had lots of ppl on, about 32 at one time. I use Windows Media Encoder. I run a wire out of my headphone jack, and route it into my MIC jack and stream it from the mic jack. It streams at 128 kbps and it sounds great. Couldn't you do that an have more people on? Media Encoder is free at Microsoft's Website. You could use your same request system as well.

Its also an issue with the total bandwidth used, and while your home internet connection doesn't usually have bandwidth limits, the VF server does, and more people using the radio, the more bandwidth is used, regardless of what platform is being used. Another option is to lower the bitrate for everyone to increase the number of listeners, but eventually that number will max out as well.
