The Wall Street Journal has an article (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB120338109294075671.html) about video game companies loosing business because companies like Disney are starting to design the games themselves instead...

But the very first sentence outlines the plot of Toy Story 3!

In Pixar's coming movie "Toy Story 3, Woody the cowboy and his toy-box friends are dumped in a day-care center after their owner, Andy, leaves for college.

Ooooo how sad. I never treated my toys like that! Poor Woody and friends. LOL
It does sound like a good theme to go off of for the story. The Toy Story 3 that is LOL.

I was hoping it wouldn't take place when Andy was grown up, but oh well.

The video game industry is fickle anyways. I worked for a 3rd party developer, and the distributors would try and write the contracts so you get paid to write the game, and then get little to no royalties. Smaller 3rd party developers are becoming more and more rare.

After the theme of growing up and forgetting about toys in Toy Story 2, I don't know that there was anywhere they could have gone with #3 except something like that. At least until #4 when Andy turns 27 and starts panicing about getting old, at which point he begins an earnest quest to reclaim his childhood in the name of being "retro". That happened to me and my original, 8-bit Nintendo ^_^

Maybe if they made a couple more, they could make it so that Andy goes back and finds them, so he can give them to his kids? Well, i dunno, but that would be cute. :)

And that is why I never gave up my NES or my toys. I can always relive my childhood aand feel retro anytime LOL.

what happened to the Buzz recall? I wonder what Andy will look like as an 18 year old

I believe they scraped the Buzz Lightyear toy recall story because I guess it really had no moral to the story whatsoever, like the first two had.

*chuckle* Oh, I still had my original, complete with the robot and everything! But I did buy more games for it during those couple years of mid-20's crisis than I ever did when it was new ^_^

Unfortunately, now that I'm living out of suitcases for the sake of going to school, the poor thing is packed away where I can't get at it! NOOOOOO!!1!

Who will voice Slinky since the voice actor died?

Don't forget Weezy... Any other toys besides those two?
My guess would be that they will have a very little role in the film, that they wont need any dialogue... Unless Pixar manages to find very good voice actors that can sound just like the original voices, I'd rather them not mess with them otherwise.

Who will voice Slinky since the voice actor died?

Lou Romano, who voiced Linguini in Ratatouille.

Maybe the movie could end with the dumped-at-a-daycare-while-Andy's-at-college thing could turn out to be just Andy's dream.

There's A New Toy Story. They Should Make The Movie Have Andy Giving His Son All Of The Toys That Belonged To Him

I would think that they would at least get someone who has a voice that is gruffer. Lou Romano has a really good voice, but not a Slinky-ish voice. Personally, I hate when they change voice actors; I say again, if the actor has died, don't make the sequal!

Aww, I think having Andy grown up is a great idea. The story sounds interesting, I really want to see where they take it. Pixar is very clever and I can't wait to see it!
