ive only been to Walt disney world 2 times and that was years ago. I think I might be going again next spring break and I was wondering if anyone could tell me so of the key diffrences from DLR and WDW.

There's just a few differences...

Size: DLR's 200 someodd acres vs WDW's 28,000 acres

Size is where it starts because size allows for all the following differences:

Parks: DLR's 2 vs WDW's 4 theme parks & 2 water parks

Resorts: DLR's 3 hotels vs WDW's 20+ hotels

Things to do besides the parks: DLR's Downtown Disney vs WDW's larger Downtown Disney, Professional Golf Courses, Miniature Golf Courses, Wide World of Sports Complex, Boardwalk, & water activities.

It all starts with size.

Yeah, they are pretty much the exact same park.

Disneyland and WDW are completely different. Obviously the Magic Kingdom will be very similar to DL but even they have differences. DCA shares several things with Hollywood Studios. Epoct and Animal Kingdom are completely different from DL.

^Let's see:

DL
SBC
Star Tours
Mr. Toad
fireworks (less fireworks than MK)
Main Street (different buildings)
HM ride in the ground outside the park
Fantasmic! on TSI
IASW
Teacups without roof
Matterhorn

MK
Cinderella Castle
fireworks (more fireworks than DL)
better Pooh ride
no Mr. Toad
Stars Tours in a different park
Fantasmic! in Hollywood Studios
Main Street (different buildings)
no Matterhorn
Teacups with roof
HM on ground next to IASW
IASW ride in the ground

That's all I can think of.

Magic Kingdom has more space with less in it than Disneyland has.

DL has New Orleans Square and the MK has Liberty Square. In it's own right, Liberty Square is pretty cool. The MK does not have a Critter Country so Pooh is located in Fantasyland and The Country Bear Jamboree and Splash are in Frontierland. However, the MK does have Tom Sawyer's Island instead of Pirate's Lair (Which is a definate plus to me). MK has a better Tomorrowland, featuring a Peoplemover, Stich's Great Escape, and Monster's Inc. Laughing Floor.

I personally felt the original magic is felt more at DLR than WDW

Yes the theme of TL in WDW is much better, or more modern, than DLR's although DLR's SM is much better because it was updated three years ago, where as WDW's SM hasn't been majorly changed in a while. There are no subs, but there is a PM. Space Ranger spin uses a cannon type turret, instead of a hand held gun. The monorail is in front of MK instead of within it. The quality and the originality on some of the rides, are said to be better, and in my opinion I agree with that. Some do not, but if you've only been to DLR, and then go to MK its very strange at first. Couldn't tell you why though.

Disneyland also has the Indiana Jones Adventure and the original Tiki Room.

Yeah the Tiki room has been taken over by other Disney birds, the show isn't as good as the original :(

Honestly, I don't think you can compare them. In WDW, I did not feel like it was DL, it felt diffrent. Not in a bad way though. I live in Ca., so I am a little biased towards DL, but I would go back to WDW in a heartbeat.

Here's another difference:

The Peter Pan ships load in an Omnimover type style

Yes, Walt Disney World does have more character greeting then at Disneyland, and you can also meet and greeting with Tinkerbell. Im not sure you can do that at Disneyland.

I thought they normally didn't have Tinkerbell as a greeting because she would be too life-sized?

She is life sized during RDCT

There are no Mint Julips in WDW but WDW has lots and lots of funnel cake.

There are a lot of cannibal birds in WDW that eat the turkey legs en mass. At WDW you can go inside and eat inside the castle. At WDW the Main Street train station is much larger and more grand.

Disneyland has Indiana Jones Adventure, Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, and the better Space Mountain.

Just a few noticable things that Disneyland has that Magic Kingdom (Or all of WDW) doesn't... Other than some attractions, Disneyland is also a lot smaller (A lot less feat drag, eh?).

Magic Kingdom has some classic attractions that once lived in Disneyland... Attractions like the Country Bears, Carousel of Progress, and the Peoplemover.

Haha, we were there, and my brother couldn't find the Matterhorn. "where is it?" he asks. We said there was no such thing as the Matterhorn in WDW. "There's no Matterhorn!?"
