trip for 2009..need help!

My wife and I have done research for a trip to WDW for 2009. We have so far come up with, including all the stuff we really want to do(Discovery Kingdom hotel, character breakfasts, flight tickets from Sacramento, CA to Orlando, etc.). Total has come somewhere in the range of $5K. does this sound right? should it be less? we have AAA and thats what we are going through.

To me $5,000 sounds like a lot for only two people. I have done a two person trip for less than half of that.

However, how much you pay depends a lot on when you are going, where you are staying, and how much you are doing. There are many factors that effect prices. Could you be a little more specific?

I think that you will get a pretty good deal through AAA. They won't rip you off on anything. Sometimes though, Disney will offer special deals on their website. Considering how long you have until your trip, check the website every now and then for special deals that could save you a lot of money.

Uhmm What is the Discovery Kingdom Hotel, is that the Animal Kingdom Lodge? Are you staying on property?

Yeah I wouldnt mind more details..I know the flight would cost more being from a greater distance, but booking in advance would also make the cost cheaper..I don't know the Discovery Kingdom hotel so I can't comment on that. How long is the trip?? If its a fairly long trip it sounds somewhat reasonable but I would definitely compare prices with other Travel companies and even Disney Travel. Great thing with going thru DT is that you can arrange and book all your events at the same time.

Average family of four spends about $7000 (including flights, lodging, food, tickets) so $5k seems like a lot, although it does depend on where you are staying and what time of year you are going to figure hotel rates.
