It'd be neat if it was something like Journey to the Center of the Earth - built inside a volcano - Mt. Fuji is a volcano.

If I remember correctly that a long time ago, Disney wanted to put one in but the only company that would sponcer the ride was Fuji film. Since they were with Kodak at the time, no deal. But now since there Kodak contract is no more, maybe they might be able to get Fuji to sponcer again, or even a different company.
I would love to see a mount Fuji coaster. That would rock! Especially a Journey to the Center of the Earth type ride, like you guys were suggesting.

I thought the individual countries sponsored their own pavillions. They could get Oriental Land to sponsor it.

Is there enough room in that spot for a large attraction like that?

^^Just what I was thinking. But if they could squeeze it in somwhere, it would be awesome! I think it would attract more younger people to that end of the park. It would be really fun!

Well, they have the room behind the country. They would have to do some remodeling backstage but I think it could work.

There is a Show Building back there that was supposed to be for the Meet the World show which never happened that is supposedly getting torn down and they will build the Mountain there. Do you guys think the mountain should be about Japanese history or a thrill ride, or both?

^ Thrill Ride . Even though I have never been to Epcot, a thrill ride would probably attract more guests rather than an educational ride IMHO. They might even think of a way to incorporate Japanese history into the storyline of the attraction too.

About time!
Oh, before the Imagineers start dreaming up something, I'm gonna do a little Imagineering on my own for this.

^I'm ahead of you on that one. Maybe they could make a thrill ride that follows a historical fiction storyline they can make up. Of course, there will be true facts in the story.

^ I was thinking something on a more mythical approach, like a dragon who's laid dorment in the mountain for thousands of years awakens or something.

That would probably be more appropriate for a ride in China.(Which is also being considered.) I would go for an educational thrills ride like Test Track.

Yea, I think that an educational thrill ride would be cool, kind of like everest's queue. Maybe the historical approach can be in the queue, not the ride, since you'd zoom past everything so quickly on the ride.

YOu guys realize that this has been on the drawing boards since the 70s when EPCOT was being planned? The original concept was a Matterhorn style ride around Mt Fuji. That never materialized because of funding. But talk has gone on for a long time about this. They then moved to the boat ride kind of show building, but that got stopped too.
All that said, I hope they do some kind of thrill/educational experience. World Showcase needs some more E-ticket kind of things. Circlevision is cool, but it was done to death there.

They would be crazy to pass this up and approve MK's Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor. Unless they didn't have enough room.

There is plenty of room at each countries pavilion for expansion.

There is plenty of room for expansion all over Epcot. That place is huge! They could easily fit an attraction like this into Epcot. However, considering the age of this concept, I doubt it will happen. Cool idea though.

According to credible sources, this project is still on the burner and has been receiving more attention lately. Disney wants to go ahead with this project, though not in its original form, but money and sponsorships remains an issue.

That would be exciting. I guess we will have to "wait-n-see"
