After growing up in Orlando (we moved there in 1970) and working at WDW for about 25 years altogether, I moved to Texas to finish school. It has been 2 years since I have been to the parks, and am having MAJOR withdrawal symptoms.

So, since I graduate in May, I set up a trip to Orlando in January to "job and house hunt" I have some interviews. But a friend I met in Texas has NEVER been to a Disney park, so I invited him to come along...My sister works at AK now, and we will be staying with a friend of mine who does Indy.

I am so excited, bringing someone who has never been before is like going for the first time again yourself.....I can't believe that at 43 years old, I am like a 7 year old again anticipating the trip. We just bought the plane tickets last night...surprisingly cheap on travelocity....round trip for only 212 a piece....

I AM SO EXCITED....I have been living on VF and watching You Tube videos and showing Gabe...."Oh, yeah, you have to see this, and even though the song gets annoying since you've never been, you have to go on Small World, it's just tradition that no one goes to Disney without ever riding Small World. Now, DLR has a cooler facade, but the ride part is pretty much the same."

He is like "okay...uh....okay....." then he gets all excited. "I can't believe I'm actually going to WDW...."

I say "I know, and like everyone else that has been you will fall in LOVE with it....except the people who live in CA and are a bit prejudiced towards their own Disney park...LOL"

Seriously, I am going nuts about this....I can hardly wait.

I had a friend I took from Miss. back in 2000. They were excited but not as excited as we were in wanting to show them all the joy and wonder to that was WDW. Its a difference between seeing and and experiencing it

I know how you feel, echoscot. I, too, invited my best friend to come with me and my family to the Disneyland Resort. However, my situation is a little different from yours; she's been to Disneyland before. Unfortunately, she didn't like it. But, I have a theory and will prove to her and convert her into a Disneyland fan. Lol.

Sincerely, a brother of a half-demon,

There are some people with hearts of steel that will never appreciate all that is Disney. I have respect for both DLR and WDW. DLR as the original and very quaint. WDW as a bigger reinvention of the first.

I have shown my friend tons of You Tube videos and that has him excited, but I told him the videos are nothing compared to the real thing. The first time we drive underneath a monorail or you hear Jack Wagner tell you to "stand clear of the doors" you know you are in for a blast!

A few others are going to be there in January as well, when exactly are you planning on being there?

^Ill be there Jan 1-Jan 11. It's primarily job stuff in anticipation of graduating in May. I have some interviews with WDI and Scientific Systems which handles all the controls systems for the attractions as well as for Stage Manager(which I did before there).

But definitely taking my friend to all the parks, would be great to meet up with some of you guys.

I'll be there in January too. But I am going in the teens (I don't remember exactly what days but it's somewhere between 13-19th of January. At least I think it is). When is everyone else going?

Bad news....My friend called me last night to back out of the trip. AFTER I BOUGHT THE PLANE TICKETS!!!!ARGHHHHHH.

I still am going, I had already intended to go to do job and housing search and visit with my friends from Disney and my church, but UGHHHH frustrating still.

So if anyone is going that week and wants to hook up for a day in the parks or just hang out let me know.

That should be fun. I am excited too. I will be staying with a friend in 4 Corners. Most of the time I will be job and house hunting, but it might be fun to meet up maybe all of us do lunch together or something...
