I was wondering if I'd be able to fit Animal Kingdom and Disney (MGM) Studios in one day...

Some people have said that it was possible, but I'm still curious..

I'll be going on Monday, Dec. 3rd

Sorry if this is a repost

I would say a day and a half. MGM can be done in one day. Animal Kingdom can be done in half a day if you push it.

A lot depends on what you like to do and how fast you want to go. Technically, you could do it in one day, but I wouldn't suggest it unless you were really strapped for time.

MGM is definitely a half day park at normal speed. Animal Kigdom can be a half day only if you rush thru it and miss the shows and run like mad. Its not even that there isnt alot to do there. Its just so LARGE and spread out. You will need a nap after running thru it if you want to make it a half day park. Me personally i like to take it slow and enjoy the animal exhibits and the scenery.

That's exactly what I was worried about (I too would like to enjoy the animal exhibits)

Thanks :) I guess we'll just finish MGM in half a day and rest

Uhhhh you will need more than half day to see the Studios, well let me be your guidebook:

The Great Movie Ride(Fun trip through the movies with lots of AA's)

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular(I worked as a Stage Tech here for about 8 years, recreates scenes from Raiders of the Lost Ark, the first scene is amazing, you can also volunteer to be an audience extra, usually very crowded)

Sounds Dangerous-(Do this if you have time, it is only ok)

Star Tours(Just like at DLR, it is fun if you have never been on it before)

Osbourne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights (you will be here at Christmas, absolutely amazing display must see for the time period you are visiting)

Backstage Tour(Cool special effects tank then a tram ride that goes through Catastrophe Canyon-that part is fun)

Lights, Motors, Action(If you like car stunts you will love this show)

MuppetVision 3D (Must see, very fun, don't know if this is at DLR or DCA)

Voyage of the Little Mermaid (Imagine the Little Mermaid condensed into about 18 minutes, all mixed up with cool special effects, very fun--I used to know "Max the Dog" really well, if you know what I mean...LOL)

THe Magic of Disney Animation (Although Disney closed down their Florida animation division, there is still an entertaining exhibit in here showing how animated films are made)

Walt Disney: One Man's Dream (Being a VF fan you should already be familiar with the story told in here)

Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage ( a spectacular stage show from Beauty and the Beast, I also used to know "Mrs. Potts" really, really well too)

The Tower of Terror(A little better than the one in DCA, ride it for yourself to make your own opinion)

Rockin' Rollercoaster (RIDE THIS...'nough said)

Fantasmic!(THe version at DLR is much better than this one, but you may want to see it for yourself to make your own opinion)

Disney's Stars and Motorcars parade (It's okay if you happen to catch it, but you may want to use that time to hit attractions that are normally crowded)

There are a few other things to see, but I think I highlighted the best parts here. One of the most time consuming thing about the Studios is the layout. It is very confusing and you will spend a lot of time getting oriented.

For food, there are several fast food places, but if you want something fun:

Sci-fi Dine in Restaurant is cool, themed like a drive in movie with silent films playing on a big screen and you eat in a 1950's chevy convertible mock-up, very fun

Brown Derby, ritzy dining for a theme park

Prime Time Diner The waiters and waitresses are like baby sitters who work in Mom's kitchen while you watch reruns of I Love Lucy and other shows at your table.

On to Disney's ANimal Kingdom--

THe Tree of Life (Features the 3D movie, It's Tough to be a Bug, just like at DCA, but really really cool show)

Festival of the Lion King ( Very fun collection of songs and floats inside a theatre in the round concept, from the Lion King. I also teched this show on occasion over the years)

Pocohontas and her Animal Friends (Cute little nature show)

Kilimanjaro Safari Tour (Do this early in the morning. Ask for my sister Molly, she is the best driver on the tour...LOL)

Pangani Forest Trail (If you like animals you will definitely want to do this and the other walking trail--THis one features the Silver Back Gorillas)

Maharajah Jungle Trek (THis is the other walking trail featuring the bengal tigers and a room full of bats and a flying fox, very cool)

Flights of Wonder (Very entertaining bird show, I teched here for a few weeks as well)

Kali River Rapids (Short but fun)

Conservation Station (You get here via train that goes around the safari, up close visits with certain species of animals)

Expedition Everest (You know about this...do it)

Finding Nemo the Musical (Haven't seen it but heard good things about it)

Triceratops Spin (Dumbo turned into a dinosaur)

Primeval Whirl (Cheesy but very very fun)

Dinosaur! (Rough but cool)

THere are other things to see at Animal Kingdom as well, but these are the highlights again. There is some fast food a Bar-b-que place and a Pizza place, but I always eat at the Tusker House restaurant. Very cool place to eat.

I hope this helps you in planning your trip.

Have fun......

^Wowwowwow.. tysm for all that info :)

I decided to fully devote at least one day to each park :) (of course a day isn't enough to see everything in one park, but I just want to hit the major attractions)

:) thanks again
