What the heck? Adam Sandler in a Disney movie!
So I was looking on the IMDB page & saw the list for upcoming Disney movies only to see a movie called, "Bedtime Stories" on the list. I thought it sorta sounded fine but when I saw Adam Sandler on the list as the main star! At that point I choked on my hamburger! I don't like Adam Sandler at all & think they should cast someone else as the main role.
Adam has a bad past with his movies in which he always plays the same role (A dim-witted idiot) & I know he did "Click" which was considered a family film but even it had some adult references! I think that they should put someone like Tim Allen or Robin Williams in the title role. They'd be more better. Adam & Disney do not mix! I repeat, Adam & Disney do not mix!!!
And to make things worse I found out that his company, "Happy Madison" is making the film alongside Disney! Kinda weird that a company which only makes PG-13 movies to R movies is working with Disney!
I hope they re-cast someone else but if they don't I hope Disney makes him behave!

Agreed.
But still you have to admit that in some of his movies he's funny... Mr. Deeds is a good one.
Even though he's funny however, that doesn't make him any more apropriate for a Disney film.
The Rock perhaps??;)

Well, you never know how he's going to be until the movie comes out. Let's not judge so soon. And although he is not one of my favorite actors, I really don't see any problems with this. Lots of actors have done some more adult stuff and still worked for Disney. I mean, Robin Williams doing live comedy is a raunch-fest yet he still pulled off the Genie.

Robin Williams can put on whatever face you want him to put on. He can be raunchy, but he can also play to a young audience, and be just as good. Robin's played roles in everything from Good Morning Vietnam! to Aladdin to Patch Adams to What Dreams May Come. Robin transcends the realm of acting.
Meanwhile, I agree with mickeymania1, Adam Sandler just cranks out the same kinds of trash over & over again. Maybe a little rebranded from movie to movie, but at its core, it's really just the same thing over & over & over again.
Personally, I don't think Sandler would feel comfortable with making a Disney movie. I think it would be much to constraining on him and what he likes to do.

Isn't Robin Williams iffy over Disney, though? Over the dispute with Aladdin, I don't think he would come back to Disney easily.
About Sandler... I agree... I just would think he'd fit in a Disney movie...

In the past, I would have agreed with the assessment of Adam Sandler. But really, the films he's done recently aren't so raunchy as they have been in the past. In fact, Click didn't really have any more raunchiness than a typical romantic comedy. It was even more of a drama - the last hour of that movie really showed that he can pull off a dramatic role. If they'd said this five years ago, I would have laughed. But these days, I think he's shown that he can take on more mature roles.

^ Is that more a commentary on the improvement of Adam Sandler, or an acknowledgement of the HUGE decline in the quality of romantic comedies? My assessment of that area is that Adam Sandler may have moved up a teensy bit, but romantic comedies as a genre has dropped quite a few floors to meet him.

Depends on your point of view, I suppose. Personally, I thought he did a great acting job. He threw a few raunchy jokes in there. If that's not your thing, fine. But the movie wasn't any worse for having them there. In fact, the whole tone of the movie was far more dramatic than anything I've seen him do before, and he did a fantastic job with it. If you're not a Sandler fan, that's fine... but I wouldn't be so quick to say that he has no place in a Disney movie. If it comes out and he turns it into a fart-fest, then I'll bash it. But not until then.
