(intro)
Reflecting from the waters of this man-made inland sea
There?s a vision of the future of the world as it might be
The fragments of a miracle are falling into place
In this showcase of the entire human race...

(first chorus)
People to people, culture to culture,
Nation to nation coming forth and joining hands
This is World Showcase, the substance, the essence,
The coming together of youth from distant lands
Growing and learning from each other
Sensing the needs of one another
A fellowship of youngsters with a special dream to share
Their different customs blending in a mixture rich and rare
The need was never greater for all people everywhere
So the Imagineers devised this wondrous plan:
The World Showcase of the family of man.

(second chorus)
Come see a fellowship showcase of the world!
You?ll feel a spirit like no place in the world!
You may come face-to-face with the whole human race
In this constantly-expanding land of peace and understanding
Where history and heritage, customs and traditions
Are presented in a permanent international exhibition
A showcase, a brotherhood of nations
World showcase, filled with hopes and aspirations
This showcase of humanity elations
Inspire us all to get the merriest flags unfurled
Let?s celebrate the showcase of the world!

(third chorus)
We?ll cross the crystal lagoon to Shanghai and ???
Then we?ll travel to Mexico and Venice, Italy
We may meet Cho-Cho San on the shores of Japan
En belle France, ah, mais oui, you?ll be the toast of Paree
We?ll take a Teutonic spin to Heidelburg and Berlin
Then to the fair United Kingdom, we?ll away!
Then we?ll see Canada to Calgary to mighty Hudson Bay!
So get dressed in your sombrero, lederhosen and beret
Grab your obi and your gondola, and, oh yes, by the way
Bring a Chinese gong and bring along your ????
You?ll be grand in every land along the way
Then we?ll meet ya in the good ol? USA!

(repeat all three choruses together)

We congratulate the Showcase
Let?s celebrate the Showcase of the world
Of? the? FAMILY OF MAAAAAAAN!!!!!
(end song)

Question: Does anyone know the lyrics to the things I labeled ???? to?

That's tough to find. You might also try "There's no place like World Showcase" which was the theme for the opening of World Showcase and the theme for the first short-lived little parade.

It isn't that tough anymore, look on YOUTUBE or an episode of the Window To The Magic podcast.

GOOD Question..I had to dig out my video of the celebration and re-watch it

The first line We?ll cross the crystal lagoon to Shanghai and ??? "KOWLOON" is the answer
The second one was much harder, I finally had to turn on the closed captioning Bring a Chinese gong and bring along your ???? the answer is
"YOUR COCKNEY CUP OF TEA"
I wish that the disney channel would bring back "Vault Disney" thats where i had recorded this show and many others Alot of great programming going unseen since the decline of the Disney Channel over the years
Hope my answer helps you out!!!

I still can't find any video of the first parade with the world showcase march.

I'll have to see if I can upload the show to VF. Not sure if this is against the rules or not though. It may be too large of a file anyway. It is an hour long program

I have a video of the Tencennial Parade from WDW back in 1981 but the file is over 200MB and the system won't let me do it. Even with Chris blessing that it was okay.

Thanks Mistymutt!
They actually had closed-captioning in 1982, or did they just use it for Vault Disney?

^ That may have just been for Vault Disney, but they did have closed-captioning back in the middle ages, I mean 1982.

You're very welcome!!! Maybe the closed captioning was added after?
I recorded this in the mid 90's i think so it could have been added.
