View Full Version : Disneyland Resort Paris to be reclaimed by French gov't. by 2017?

I hear that under the contract with the French government, a third park in the Paris resort must open by 2017, otherwise they will reclaim the land they gave to Disney in 1992. What will Disney do here? The resort would have to turn a MAJOR profit by then and I doubt it will at this juncture. What's going to happen?

HA! If that was true i'd be laughing. The french Govt must like DLP so much that they want another place.

Well, I don't have a source per se, but when I was looking for a video of Journey To the Center of the Earth for Darth Boomer (for our Imagineering classes), I found one at (surprise, surprise) YouTube. And below that video were comments made by other people. And one of them claimed that unless a third park opened at the Paris resort by its 25th anniversary in 2017, then under contract from the French government, the government would reclaim the land given to Disney in '92. Oh, well lets see, he probably heard from someone who heard from someone about this, and it got all changed up. It could be that if disney doesn't use the empty space for a third park they will reclaim it. Definitly a RUMOR

That was absolute sarcasm.....I tend to be that way, and sometimes it gets me in trouble because people misread it.
