Rejoice Haunted Mansion fans, Rejoice!!! For the Haunted Mansion is officially open once again in Walt Disney World!!!!!

No its not. Its still closed. I work at WDW so i did two things, one i walked over, walls still up, two i called Guest Information they said its still closed. Its supposed to open with the Halloween party on the 14th. If you would like to call guest information the number is (407)824-4321

When The Haunted Mansion reopens, you'll be given priority access, and will be among the first to experience all the eerie new enhancements to this classic Disney attraction. Including a ghoulish new scene, haunting new audio and more ghastly ghosts than ever before.

It all happens Sept. 14, 15 & 16 from 9 am to 12 pm. Just look for the Passholder "Priority Access" entrance.

Passholders must show valid Pass and photo ID for access.

Correctoin. Just called back guest information, they are now telling me its opening tomorrow

Hmm either i got a misinformed CM or they changed the date.

I don't like that. It doesn't seem right. plus there are two reasons they shouldn't do that:

1. It wouldn't make sense location-wise and sight-wise to put in the endless staircase
2. We had Constance and floating Leota first.

And also, keeping the new effects in MK can help theirs be unique.

well why did they have to get Constance as well? I would have been cooler if they had made a different storyline to make the mansions unique. As it is now, they're just copy-catting...nothing new storywise.

First off...MK's Mansion's 'enhancements' were basically identical to Disneyland's. Floating Leota, talking bride, etc. The only thing that I can find that's different is the staircase effect, which can't come to Disneyland's because it went into a room MK's Mansion has but Disneyland's does not have.

They added a lot more than those things. The moving gargoyles in the stretching room, hte new ghost host effect in the stretching room. UPdated sound, and lighting.

I wasn't too sold on the 'new' sound. Disneyland's stretching room has the ghost host coming from different speakers around the gallery for as long as I can remember.

Didn't they also have an improved version of Floating Leotea? It'll be nice if Madam Leotea stayed floating without having to sit on her staionary if it's not in sync.

And I think that the Staircase scene can't be brought to DL's HM becasue I think that the empty room that they have is probably isn't big enough for all the stairs.

Im hoping the new bat effect is going in as well. I have to admit that sounds really kewl. But I have to be honest, I'm just glad to have our mansion freshened up and the effects looking alot cleaner and crisper. I am eager to see the additions but I am equally as excited to have sound that doesnt crackle and pop and effects that dont look warn and faded. And any change that includes removing those carnival spiders is a great improvement to me

Theres a video over at wdwmagic. From what I have heard it looks very good. Outside the mansion the Facade ha been re-painted and looks great. The canopy over the Queue is now red instead of dark green. Foyer is still the same with the Master Gracey portrait. The wallpaper in the Stretching Room has been replaced with the Wallpaper from the Disneyland version.
The load area now has some of the old portraits with the eyes that follow you and the hallway where they used to be is now Disneylands changing portrait hallway. Lighting looks a little different in the Library scene. The staircase scene looks amazing. its really hard to see in videos but you can see glowing footsteps on the stairs and then you see glowing bat eyes similar to the glowing eye effect at the end of Disneylands POTC. Madame Leota is floating just like the disneyland version. Constance 2.0 looks way more realistic than the one that has been in Disneyland for the last few years.
Disneyland is expected to get the updated Bride after this years HMH.from this point on everything is pretty muce the same as it was but it sounds a lot
better. Rejoice WDW fans! For the first time in years we have a classic E-Ticket better than its Disneyland counterpart.

It is impossible for Disneyland to get the Staircase scene since there is no room in the attraction. The new Stretching Room Audio and Constance 2.0 will come to Disneyland after HMH. However I expect the WDW mansion to be the best for many years to come. No offense to :disneyland:. Their Mansions great too.

but I'm glad WDW's is finally up-to-date. I know it's supposed to be rundown and all that, but there was no excuse for the crappy audio and everything. Poor management.

I've seen two videos of the updates and there are no moving gargoyles. Not even the Griffons at the balustrades are moving, and they were designed to! If I recall, the rumor of moving gargoyles came from a post on another board that was proven to be falsified.

Someone else mentioned bats. The bats were also in the falsified posting on another board and are not on either of the two videos I've seen. There are blinking eyes along the walls in one section, but they are supposed to be the monster face wallpaper come alive, not bats.

It is difficult to get perspective on size, but I don't see why the staircases or a variant couldn't be installed in the DL Mansion loading area. It would mean HMH couldn't install their SCAry/ MERry Christmas cutouts, but I'd hate to think that demands of HMH were preventing the Imagineers from making any additions or improvements to the DL Mansion.

I just went on the new Haunted mansion 2.0 And i have to say Holy Cow its finally Working they really needed it thats when i said hey im going to ride this again.
After the Sixth time riding it i Saw everything new.
the new Hallway of eyes is so awesome the wall paper looks at you and the new portrait Gallery does not have the April/December Portrait but The Gallery fits in well.
When ever u come to WDW you must go on it you will love it

Ya know it just makes me laugh. When WDW copies a DLR attraction everyone says its a ripoff and they should keep them seperate and original. Now that WDW has the latest greatest update all I see is the DLR people wishing it would come back to DLR. And for the record, its not one Mansion is better than the other, each has its own look and style. So can we stop all this mines better than yours crap already?? I didnt know it was a competition.

Oh I know and I totally understand loyalty. I personally think DLR Magic Kingdom pays a greater attention to details and is much better themed. But blind loyalty is another thing. Seems to be a double standard that says we (DLR) can get all the upgrades but not the WDW MK. And lets face it if any park is in desperate need of rejuvenating its WDW's. Both parks have their own strengths and weaknesses. But its apples and oranges, each one is unique, just like Phantom Manor is in now way like the Mansions in the US or Tokyo. Anyway Ill get off the soapbox. I am just happy WDW's Mansion finally got a facelift and all those great effects you all have been enjoying and some new surprises.

That rumor is a bit of a jump-around. There is a chance they could do it but here is a common reason they probably may not: many WDW visitors are tourists who stay a few days or a week or so. So, with the exception of POTC 2.0, SE as of recently and the Gran Fiesta makeover, Disney wouldn't put an attraction down that long because a tourist could be majorly disappointed. Trust me.

The portraits from the Corridor of Doors in Disneyland have just been added to the WDW version. Including three of the Hatbox Ghost.
Also the Brides Ring is now completely gone.

Hey everybody! Life treating ya good?! Just got back from the place where dreams do come true! More importantly, the place where there are wall to wall creeps and hot and cold running chills! That's right, The Haunted Mansion! I love it so much now! The Seance Room was great, The Attic was just amazing, The strange stairway room was cool, and the Graveyard was awesome! There are so many things in there to see and I loved every bit of it! I would recommend this ride to anyone, it's just that great! I almost forgot the Hitchhiking Ghosts. When I first looked at them, I said to myself, Wow!

Does anyone think that the mansion should have fastpass? I am just curious.

To answer the previous post: There is a room with a lot of stairways that go in just about every direction. You can even see footprints of ghosts walking on all of the stairways. It looks really cool!

The only bad thing was that every time I went to the mansion, there were all of these people that tried to ruin the experience. Does anyone know what I mean?

I think you are on the right track monkey! Every time I went there, some people made noises and screams from the stretching portrait gallery to the morphing portrait gallery. The whole time I wanted to listen to Paul Frees wonderful voice. But all I could hear were fake screams and noises. It really ticked me off!

The dialouge introducing Leota was never at WDW. Back when the Disneyland Mansion opened The ghost hosts dialouge introduced Madame Leota but it was quickly removed because the Imagineers thought the sound effects should be telling the story and not the Ghost Host and this was carried over to the WDW version. In 1995 Imagineers re-discovered the missing dialouge and returned it to the Disneyland version. The WDW version on the other hand did not have the extra speakers for that dialouge and therefore it was never there. Last year an executive order from Tom Fitzgerald said that the Ghost Host introducing Leota dialouge must be removed from the Disneyland version so the sound effects could speak for themselves again. He also said that if they were turned on again WDI would be forced to remove the speakers which would affect HMH.;)

Awesome! But, now that I think about it, I forgot to mention one last piece of dialogue. After the endless hallway, when you get to the conservatory and corridor of doors the Ghost Host says: "All of our ghosts have been dying to meet you. This one can hardly contain himself. Unfortunately, they all seem to have trouble getting through."

Same with the Leota one never in WDW, In DL originally ,quickly removed,added back to DL in 95, , Removed from DL again last year. As with the Leota one it clashed with the sound effects.

I actually have never played the game either believe it or not. But I am a huge Star Wars fan and Last year at Halloweentime the site was re-themed to Star Trek and all the admins and Mods had Star Trek related names. So I decided to be Jacen Solo from Star Wars. This year I chose Revan to continue the tradition. Even though the Star Trek theme seems to have died.
Anyway back on topic.

(Yes April/December has returned) and the Oprah-Glass lady is hanging between the Ballroom and the Attic. (Ironicly She is actually based on original Marc Davis concepts for the Bride.)

Before the refurb, in place of the DL changing portraits were 11 portraits (five on one wall, five on the other, passing under one) called the Sinister 11. Now, some were moved into the loading area.

Just so you know, i thought the haunted mansion in DL was better than the one in MK. the one in MK seemed run-down. of course, that was before the refurb. it's probably better than DL now.

They Have Now Added The Family Portraits in the Corridor Of Doors A DLR is Now in the Corridor Of Doors At The Magic Kingdom Haunted Mansion And The Jack the ripper,The Mariner And Traveler Portraits Have Been Added to the load area too near the door you exit out of the Stretching room.
