View Full Version : Walt Disney Treasures DVDs
Wave 7 of the Walt Disney Treasures DVD series has been anounced. There are only three titles this year:
Disneyland: Secrets, Stories & Magic
The Chronological Donald, Volume Three
The Adventures of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit
Disneyland: Secrets, Stories and Magic was announced nearly 3 years ago as part of Disneyland's 50th Anniversary, and then it never materialized. I'm excited that it's finally making an apearance.
I'm also curious to see the Oswald shorts. I've enjoyed seeing the Alice in Cartoonland shorts on the Disney Rarities DVD, so I'm looking forward to this, too.
Here's a complete list of the Walt Disney Treasures series at Ultimate Disney:

Tomorrowland
Behind the Scenes at The Walt Disney Studios
featuring The Reluctant Dragon
Disney Rarities
featuring the Alice in Cartoonland series and some of the more avant garde shorts
Silly Symphonies
More Silly Symphonies
On The Front Lines
featuring Victory Through Air Power (and Der Fuehrer's Face!)

I have been hooked on the Treasures since day one. There's not a one I don't own! My favorites are probably, Disneyland, USA (Although it really need to be a continuous volumed series), On the Front Lines, Disney Rarities, and the Mickey Mouse Club (still holding out for an anthology set on this one, though).
VERY excited about the Oswald set, not to mention the Disneyland one. It's about time!!!

Amazon.com released their review on the site, which reveals that awesomeness of these discs...
Look for the review under editorial reviews, about a third of the way down each page.

I am so psyched for all three of these! Love the extra Wonderful World of Colors on the DL one, giddy over the Iwerks documentary on Oswald (not to mention seeing Oswald!), and you can't go wrong with Donald!!! I absolutely cannot wait for these...

What will the Disneyland - Secrets, Stories, and Magic have in the DVD?
My guess is....... Secrets, Stories and of course Magic. LOL Sorry I just had to.
I am sure it shows more of the behind the scenes and the stories behind the magic and such.

I posted a link to the Amazon site. If you read Amazon.com's review, it tells you what is on it.
...Which is lots of nifty stuff.

Wow, it rises from the grave in force!
I'm excited for the Dr. Syn set, since it lets me switch out the bootleg DVDs I presently have, with their Disney Channel commercials ^_^
It's too bad that Destino is a whole disk by itself... It really strikes me as the kind of thing that would go well on a "Disney Rarities" disk that includes more of the rare, one-off shorts from more modern days. I don't know that it's worth my investment on a fixed budget.
Now if only they'd release one Treasures set I REALLY want: Ranger Woodlore and Humphrey the Bear!

I have quiet a few of these and it's been awhile since this last release. I cannot find the Disneyland one anywhere, there are stacks of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Any idea how to snag "Serets and Magic". There's gotta be a place that sells it.

Those two shorts were released on the Rarities DVD, and there were other shorts with these characters that starred Donald Duck, and those ones will be released on an upcoming fourth Donald set.

The only thing I can think of is Amazon. At least they are reliable more often than not.

Oh, I know... I'm talking about one that compiles all the 'toons with them (and, actually, the Donald Duck Old Sequoia toon since its in the same vein) as well as the Ranger of Brownstone compilation episode and the three nature documentaries they hosted. I'm sure there's some kind of short doumentary piece on Humphrey as the mascot for the Wilderness Lodge hotel waiting to be written for that disk, as well as one on Disney and the National Parks.
I'd buy that in a heartbeat!
