This is gunna be one hell of a project. Disneyfreak59 made the entire thing for the So, you want to be an Imagineer? contest and it was so cool, that I wanted to do it. She wanted to do it too, so were working together on this one.
Go here to see the entire thing. its too long to type up lol.

^ Should be posts 66 and 67 there ^
Anyways, I'll be working on it till shes done with the Imagineer contest, then she'll join in. It kinda works the way IJA works, which will make it kinda tough...
Gotta read it though... its really cool Applause, Applause!

Just looked at it, and it looks awesome, can't wait to see this! It'll be a huge challenge in RCT3 bc its underground, but you guys can do it!
Darth_Boomer
08-11-2007, 08:46 PM
I dunno if we should actually MAKE it underground (like all in 1 park) or just make the illusion of being underground just for a video lol. I guess we could do both cuz of those fake land pieces in Wild or Soaked or whatever pack those came with.
btw, almost done with the entrance facade, so the bus thingy comes next.
ryguy222
08-11-2007, 10:54 PM
I suggest not doing it underground or using fake land pieces, those suck! Just do it above ground and simulate being underground
Darth_Boomer
08-12-2007, 11:48 AM
ya that was another thought. I dont think it will make much a difference if it were really underground or not
candystandman
08-13-2007, 05:08 PM
you should do it how it really is...
Darth_Boomer
08-13-2007, 10:45 PM
^doing it REALLY underground would cause some space issues, since the tunnels are only as big as the coaster will need. I'll just make the ride above ground, but make it have the feeling of being below.
btw, I'm like 1/3 of the way done with the on-ride soundtrack. I think it will be easier to time the ride to the soundtrack rather than make a soundtrack timed to the ride. I'd upload it to my site, but dial-up isn't a very fast connection, you know! lol
Anywho, pics will come soon I hope. I'm almost done with a suitable facade. Trying to make the entire thing EXACTLY the way Disneyfreak made it isn't a quick process... :D

Finally finished the temple Facade. Here are some pics:
The Temple Exterior:

The Temple Interior:

I'll probly be adding some trees and mountains to the exterior so it looks like it was excavated from the surrounding area around the decided city.
Up next, The roller coaster so we can get a preview out there. Applause, Applause!

Not for nothing, but there's this new Asian themed custom scenery set about to come out you may want to use.

ya, I heard about some of the old ones and they werent exactly what I needed for the facade. I can use em for the inside, sure, but I gotta see for myself what it is.
Oh, and np Disneyfreak. Its what I do :D
EDIT: I just found some concrete statues. Not exactly what we need, but it's the best I could find.

Darth_Boomer
08-15-2007, 03:42 PM
The set is called "Osudenny 20 Concrete Statues". Most of it is like Shrek heads and Stitch statues and theres a gazebo too, but there are 3 or 4 human statues we can use. The Atari thread can be found here (http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=603315).

*cough cough* anywho... i'm hoping the entire video (preshow stuff and all) will be finished by late spring 2008. Although, thats a little early, so I'd look forward to it being in the Summer of 2008. That seems more like it to me. Its a BIG ride lol. Lots of stuff to make.

Ok, I think I let this thread die long enough. Just thought I'd say that I've been working on the pre-show stuff and I've hit a little snag in the construction.
Well, the design calls for a bus ride to the loading dock, but I decided to expand on the idea by making the bus go through a bit of the excavation zone. My new addition is that the bus will go through a bit of a cave before entering a part deep inside the temple. Inside this area, traps have been set thousands of years before by those who built the tomb. One of which is a fire trap which is activated as the bus enters the area.
THATS where my snag takes place. Whenever the vehicle comes to that point and the particles activate, they don't show through the windshield of the vehicle. Anyone know a way to get around that?
ryguy222
10-03-2007, 07:51 PM
^No thats a problem that happens in RCT3, most see through textures hide particles, all of those textures are originals of Frontier :p the underwater tunnel path piece also hides particles, this includes lights! But first off there is no realistic bus in RCT3 so what are you using?
Darth_Boomer
10-03-2007, 08:54 PM
well, I WAS going to use a bus scenery piece for the parts outside the bus (like when your walking up to it) and when your inside of it, I was using the suspended monorail. The windshield, like I said, is giving me some problems, so I'm thinking about transfering to an open-air vehicle like the jeeps from Wild!.
disneyfreak59
10-04-2007, 04:08 PM
i think the jeeps from wild would work well.
ryguy222
10-04-2007, 08:09 PM
You could use the jeeps, or use the monorail and do an outside camera view, and hide the track by making it invisible. To do this go to Options then Graphic settings or display i think its the eyeball. Then there is a drop down menu, set it to "Custom" then there are a ton of options, click on the box that says "show LOD Options" Then there are a bunch of sliders, go down to Tracks, and on the side where it says "draw distance" drag it all the way down to zero. Or you could just use jeeps :p
Darth_Boomer
10-05-2007, 08:11 AM
ya, I was either gunna use the suspended monorail and make the track invisible or the jeeps and do the same thing. I'll try the jeeps then. I haven't had any problems with those before...
ryguy222
10-05-2007, 03:57 PM
^Well I don't think you need to make the track invisible, it doesn't look that bad.
Darth_Boomer
10-06-2007, 04:25 PM
well, to make it actually look like the walls floor and ceiling from the inside of a carved out cave, I would need to get rid of the asphalt track the jeeps come with ^_^". I tried the jeeps before without making the track go bye bye and the cave looked kinda wierd...
ryguy222
10-06-2007, 06:55 PM
Yup because asphalt is definitly Brown and muddy looking :P
lol jk
whatever works, as long as the jeeps aren't floating like 10 feet above the ground.
Darth_Boomer
10-07-2007, 09:39 AM
oh *THOSE* jeeps :P
I thought you were talking about something else ha ha ^_^"

10-14-2007, 09:29 AM
^Congratulations! I can't wait to see the final video of this. Will post the park for download?
Darth_Boomer
10-14-2007, 02:15 PM
well, so far it's like in 3 separate parts lol. I used the first park for the facade (and used the rest of the empty space for the preview scenery), the second for the bus scene, and the third for the actual ride. the bus scene is too spaced out to fit with everything else in one park lol. If I can find a way to shrink it and keep the feeling of traveling far away, then I'll remake it in one park
But now that Disneyfreak is helping out, the release date may be sooner than I thought. It all depends on how fast we build it lol. The bus scene has enlightened me into finding new ways to do the same effect, so construction should be faster than expected. I already brainstormed the entire ride and have my plans written down. ^_^"
EDIT: Of course, that's giving me a little too much credit in building the thing lol
