Fans arrange Epcot's 25th Birthday

Epcot "rededication ceremony" planned for 25th birthday (http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/business_tourism_aviation/2007/07/epcot-rededicat.html)
Orlando Sentinel - FL

Until now, it was looking like the most ambitious Epcot 25th anniversary public event was being produced by Adam Roth, a remarkable 16-year-old fan from Celebration, with the help of some other Disney World fans. But now it looks as if Walt Disney World and Walt Disney Imagineering are stepping up, and will be offering some sort of "rededication ceremony" to mark the park's 25th on Oct. 1.

Word has it that Epcot's planning to have dignitaries such as Imagineering legend Marty Sklar come in for the fun.

When Disney officials announced in January that they were planning nothing public for the anniversary, Adam and some others, including Jenn Waitt, began organizing a privately-sponsored public celebration called Celebration 25, spelled out on Adam's website Dreamfinder Forever. They've been working with Epcot's special events office, and Adam advises now that they've gotten word from that office about the Disney-produced public celebration.

Adam said Celebration 25 has 240 participants registered thusfar. Details of their celebration will be coming.

I am Adam Roth, mentioned from the article below and I am helping to run the upcoming Celebration 25. Anyone is welcome to join us, but plans have changed slightly to accomodate an official re-dedication ceremony that Disney is holding that morning. Only registered attendees can take part in our official activities (which may include a private venue with some Imagineers) along with other special events. We still plan on meeting at the Fountain of Nations for our group photo at 10:00 a.m. but to be considered a part of our group, you must be wearing a wristband which we will be distributing at our official table, set up at the ticketbooth closest to the Epcot Kennel Club. Once you have that wristband, you will be permitted to join us for any of our official events (a schedule should be up within the next week). The sign in tables will be open until 15 minutes before the park officially opens, leaving our group enough time to get to the Fountain of Nations for the official re-dedication ceremony. Did I forget anything?

Hoping you will join us,

~Adam~

Thank you Adam for helping Disney realize the importance of Epcots 25th.

While I have played a part in this event, the work is not all credited to myself. Really, the credit goes to all of those fans of Epcot that feel that October 1st really is an important day in history. As many great people have said, "There is strength in numbers." And with 320+ guests attending, we have hopefully helped to open the eyes of management, but I can promise you that we aren't the only reason why this is happening.

Anyways, this event wasn't even my idea! That credit goes to Ms. Jenn Waitt. I offered to work on the event's publicity and since that time I have worked on further activities, but we also have Jason working on our Dessert Party. We also have several others involved in some surprise activities for the day, so I can honestly say that this is purely a group effort.

It is a shame that you can't join us, be we hope to represent you and any others that are there in spirit, but not in person.

Thank you for your support!
