I will be going there next year, but my parents gave me the job of planning this area of the trip *yes i am going to florida for the 1st time!* anyway...So give me the full run down

whats good to see, whats not good to see, what hotels to stay in, what hotels not to stay in.

Now, i will be going with my parents and sister, 3 coaster freaks and one that isn't a big coaster freak, so what rides should we stick to cause of my mom , then some rides that we can go on but without her...Thanks for all the help :D

For those that like coasters, I would suggest Rockin' Rollercoaster at MGM, Mission Space at Epcot, and Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom. Nothing at WDW is much more intense than anything at DL. So, if your mom is ok with the stuff at DL then you guys will be set.

Long post ahead:

We stayed at the Port Olreans Riverside. I loved it, it felt like you were in th bayous of Louisiana, and it brought me right back to POTC. There are multiple buildings, eavh with about 14 rooms, I think, all surounded by trees. There is a boat service that brings you directly to DD.
Another thing to take advantage of, are the busses. There are multiple stops at all the hotels, and busses come very often to pick you up and bring you to the gate. If you are planning to just stay in the parks, you may not need a car. The busses bring you almost litteraly to the front of the gate. At the MK, you need to park and take a monorail or boat to get to the gate; with the busses, you take an shortcut and head right to the bag check place.

MK: Do everything here. Space Mountain is a little more rough, but still great fun. If in doubt, go to the TTA. Similar to the PM, it uses LIM's instead of tires. You get a great view of tomorrowland, and you go inside SM and BLAB. Wishes is a great Firework show, we watched it nearly every night. the JC is longer there, but they still have the corny jokes.

EPCOT: Spaceship earth is a must, though I have no idea what they are doing in the Refurb right now. For the coaster lovers, they would love Test Track. Hold on tight though, if you are not prepared, some of the turns may pull a little to many lateral G's for your pleasure. Even the non-coaster lover would like it. This is a good park to just walk around and take it easy. Malestrom, over in the Norway Pavillion, is a good ride to rest your feet. This is a HUGE park, and AK is bigger. IllumiNations is overrated in my opinion. We only saw it once during our two weeks. I would still suggest seeing it, since everyone else seems to like it so much. You could ride Soarin, but it is the same exact thing as DL's. Inoventions is more fun at EPCOT then at DL.

MGM: We did not spend much time here, but watch the Indy show, it was really fun. Rock N Rollercoaster will get your friends adernaline pumping, but the aster shy one may not like it (It freaked me out my first time, but I was by my self, and it was, at the time, the most intense coaster I had been on. I would love to do it again now) I would skip the Great Movie Ride. I hated it, and so did the rest of my family, but it's your choice. We did not get to watch Fantasmic!, so I would suggest seeing it, since everybody loves it so much. (I have never seen Fantasmic! at either of the parks...*dodges rocks*)

AK: This park is H-U-G-E!!!! Our feet were hurting badly by the end of the day. Expedition Everest is my favorite coaster of all time, the detail they put in is exquisite, and it is just...really cool. The themeing is awesome too. The coaster shy one may enjoy it too, some parts are intense, but the Yeti is the coolest AA I have ever seen. Another fun coaster is that one spinning wild ouse one, I forgot the name. Similar to MH, but the cars spin around in circles while going down the drops. If you like IJA, go on Dinosoar. We didn't, for some reason. Before you do ANY of this, get a fastpass for EE and Kilamanjaro Saffari's. If the line for Kilamanjaro is short, ride it first thing, all the animals are out. EE gets a big line too, so like I said, grab a fastpass early. Go to Rafiki's planet watch if you are in an animal mood. CM's tell you all about rare and exotic animals. You may see a rare talking trashcan too. We did.

DD: If it is still there, go to Disney Quest. It is a 5 story arcade, with more then just Pac-Man and Galaga. In one spot, you can make your own Rollercoaster, with as many inversions as you would like. That was SO MUCH FUN! Anyway, there are a bunch of virtual reality games, and they do have classics like Pac-Man and Galaga too. If you get hungry, go to the Earl of Sandwhich, I think it is. They have the best sandwhiches. It costs a bunch, but Cirque de Soulie (I spelled that wrong) is EXTREMELY fun, from what I have heard. It was not in our budget though.

Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon: Go to these if you can too. The speed slides are fun.

My hands are starting to hurt...And this is my longest post ever.

Simply Phenominal, if you see Fantasmic at MGM, be sure to arrive early. The seats fill up fast! And, if your looking for a delicious snack, try a churro. It's fried dough rolled in cinnamon. Everyone at VF is nuts over it, including me!

^Yeah, try a Dole Whip! The Dole Whip stand is just inside the Adventureland entrance (from Main Street). You'll be in pineapple heaven!

Similar to what Kileli posted:

MK: If doing SM, go there first when you get to the park. Grab a fastpass and then enjoy Tomorrowland. There's plently to do in this area and best of all...you cen get alot done in a short amount of time. If you see a line coming out of Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin, still get in line (if you want to go on that attraction). The line moves extremely fast! TTA is a must...you get views of all of Tomorrowland, Cinderella Castle (great pic op), and inside SM (both the station and the lift hills). I would do Astro Orbiter (try riding it at night and during the day..you get great views of the area).
If you're over in Frontierland, try getting a fp for either Splash Mountain or Big Thunder, then go ahead and ride the other one while waiting for your fastpass to become active. After you are done with that area (and wanting to go back to tomorrowland), try getting on the railroad from Frontierland...take it to Mickey's Toontown Fair and then from there, take path along the railroad to Tomorrowland...it takes you out right by SM.

Epcot: If Spaceship Earth is open, dont go there right away! (the line will probably be long at the start of the day) Try hitting the major attractions in Future World before you head over to World Showcase. Future World lines start in the morning and last all day...rarely do they die down.
After Spaceship Earth, travel on over to WS. I would suggest doing any attraction you want, most are entertaining! Though, you must try to pastry place in France...great treats there!!
Try to see Illuminations, it is a good show. Though for a good spot, try to find a spot early.

MGM: Try Rockin' Roller Coaster and ToT. Rockin' Roller Coaster's lines are usually long all day but the lines for ToT sometimes do die down shortly after the lunch hour (like around 3:00). The IJ Stunt Show is a must...lines do form early so watch out. Hopefully a storm doesnt come through the area because if there is lightning in the area, the show is either postponed or cancelled for that hour. Star Tours..same as DL. Muppets...same as DCA. Try out The Great Movie Ride, everybody forms their own opinoins on the ride.
If wanting to see Fantasmic! and wanting a great seat...arrive early! Some books suggest around 30-45 minutes for a good seat...dont listen to them! Lines do form as early as 2 hours before the show.

AK: Great park, alot to see and do! Do not bother getting a fastpass for Dinosaur!...just go during the middle of the day. Normally the only wait in the queue is from watching the Pre-Show video. If wanting to ride Primeval Whirl, try a fastpass...lines do get long even though they do have two tracks.
EE is a great ride with a great queue. I would suggest trying to wait in the Stand-by line (if you have time) just to experience the queue itself.
Kail River Rapids ride is a nice water ride that does get you soaked...so be warned.
The rest of the park is great and big...take it easy and you can actually get alot done. Try using the hidden walkways, they are often less traveled.

DD: If you're just walking around, you can actually walk this entire area in a short amount of time. There is something here for everybody...both shopping and dining wise.

Universal Studios: I would suggest not visiting this park, in my opinoin. A few years ago, the park was ok...but now, I dont think there is anything really to do there anymore. The only attractions I would suggest doing is Terminator 3D and the Men in Black ride. I would have said to ride Back to the Future...but its gone.

IOA: Great park! Amazing detail was put into this park, if you do have time...I would suggest trying this park out. It does have alot of thrills so just watch out for that.

^Don't worry Dole whips are better!!!!

Since you've been to disneyland i'd suggest not hanging around MK too long. You already know whats there, and its all about the same as DL only a bit different, and its much more crowded then the other parks, this over crowding starts around 1-2. Then go to the other parks, I love epcot and MGM, and AK is ok, not many thrill rides but still fun. If you are staying on Hotel property, and you are only visiting WDW and don't want to rent a car, then you can take the Disney's Magical Express Shuttle, its free, and its great, saved us money so we didn't need a car. Here is more info on it

I think the best part is we didn't have to go to the baggage claim.

I thought the MK was the best park there, even though I have been to DL alot. And if you are going during the summer, be ware! MGM is the hottest park, followed by AK and then EPCOT. MK seems to keep cooler then the others. Drink LOTS of water.

Another thing I would recommend is getting a guide book, like Birnbaums guide to WDW. It has everything you want to know it has prices for all the resorts restaurants..it tells you best times to go. I started using it the first time I went and I gotta tell you they are invaluable for details and facts for first timers!!

Oh yeah! We got the Passporter, that was the BEST one. It on so many awards and it has EVERYTHING.

Yeah those guides are always a good place to find starter info. Everything is all in one place and it can really help you get an idea what parks are busiest at what times and days of the week, which restaurants are cheapest or most expensive, which ones have character meals, which attractions are fastpass musts..

Another great guide is The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. It's huge, but it has pretty much everything you need to know! Plus, their touring plans are excellent, and they save a lot of time!
