Which rides do you think they'll make a movie out of next? I'd have to say, maybe, The Enchanted Tiki Room, or the Matterhorn.

The Matterhorn was already inspired by "The Third Man on the Mountain."

Hmmm, true. But if you've seen Third Man..., the ride doesn't really tell that story so a new movie could take a different twist.

One of my favorite movies of all time was Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959) with James Mason. RankoAnime and PeoplemoverMatt could tell us if the Tokyo ride reflects that movie's story very well or not, but even if they just used the same script, new special effects might be fun. Although, the effects they made in 1959 were very believeable and the reptiles very impressive.

As I understand it, Tokyo's Journey was built to reflect Jules Verne's novel moreso than the 1959 movie.

I personally think they should write something original and not make all their rides into movies and or movies into rides. If the heads of the corporation had any guts and take a leap of faith like Walt did, we would be seeing other kinds of rides other than franchised movie tie-ins and jargon of the such. I know they are playing with other people's money (the investors and share holders), but come on. Take a risk.

Well, I do like the idea of rides into movies, however I also don't want it to be overkill, with so many rides into films where Disney begins getting boring.

Anyways, the Jungle Cruise is already turning into a movie and it is being released in 2009 (visit IMDB).

Also, Soarin' could actually be a nice subject for a film. Mabey, a little boy has dreams of flying and such.... Just a thought.

Disney' California Adventure: Soarin' over California
Grizzly River Run

Magic Kingdom: Hall of Presidents (Maybe)
Mickey's Philharmagic

I could totally see BTMRR becoming a movie. Not sure ho many of you have read the entire legend behind it, but there would be plenty of things needed to make a movie. I just hope one doesn't come out.

I really hope they don't keep on this path of turning rides into movies. They should really let their imagination go wild and think up something really classic and original for the park once again.

Wasn't that already kinda done? Treasure Planet? LOL hehehehehe. Except they didn't change a ride for it and or make one for it.

That movie seems to take those titles too literally. Space Mountain is not about finding the highest point in space, but the center of the universe. And I'd have to say it's more like 6 Everests than 6 Kiliminjaros.

And I hope they don't make a movie out of a churro stand. That would be too wierd.

Personally, I'd prefer the Mark Twain Riverboat as to the Columbia. But the others (except for IASW) all sound good.

I just thought of something else that would fit this topic. What if they made an entire movie out of Paradise Pier? That would be interesting.

How?! Paradise Pier is as shallow as a puddle. It has nothing very substancial to it. It's just cheap games and facades.

LOL. I joked around with my brother once and acted out a movie trailer for a film based on Journey Into Imagination.

Plot: Scientists have wondered how imagination comes in a persons mind. One scientist, Dreamfinder, makes a brain surgery operation on a person to find out. Then, a purple dragon, Figiment, pops out of the patient's head, claiming he causes imagination in every person. Now he goes out across the world with the scientists showing how imagination can be used everywhere!!! (He even dances with a tiger!)

LOL

I have also heard something about Jungle Cruise being made into a ride. Does anyone else have any more info on that. It would be the most sarcastic movie in the universe and if you don't believe me you're in de nile heehee Oh I crack myself up.

I have asked about this, but I think they should make a Little Mermaid Ride. That would be so cute. Especially if they follow the original idea they have on the DVD. Future Imagineers! I am counting on you, please make it happen!

COMING NEXT YEAR-LITTLE MERMAID RIDE!

I know you can do It. I'll keep my eye out in the future! :)

^Actually I think the company already counts "The Voyage of the Little Mermaid" show at the Studios as a "ride", so I don't know if anything will come of it. However if you get the platinum DVD, there is a cool extra where they did design an attraction in the early 90's which never got built, but they have a CGI ride-thru and descriptions of what it would be like.

Still waiting for "It's a Small World" the movie. Just imagine...2 1/2 hours of "It's a world of laughter, a world of tears. It's a world of hopes and a world of fears..."

Now I got it stuck in your heads...LOL

That would be creepy.......... It'd give me nightmares..... worse than any scary movie I've ever seen..... You know, for little kids, the ride would be fun and entertaining, but for teens and adults like us, it would be more scary than HM and IJA combined!;)
