:mickey: Well, I've been thinking about this for quite some time, and I think Disneyland needs to expand their Halloween celebration. Below are just a couple of ideas.

DISNEYLAND PARK

1) The Street of Shivers?: Here's the story. Just as its happening in Disneyland Paris across the Atlantic, the Pumpkin Men have split up, in order to spread the 'haunted news' of Halloween across the world. This time, they end up at Disneyland Park in California. They officially take over Main Street USA, now known as the Street of Shivers. The Pumpkin Men re-paint most of MS their favorite color, orange. New entertainment, music, and food will also be available during this all-new celebration.

2) HalloweenLand, USA: This is the official headquarters for the PumpkinMen, and they have taken over New Orleans Square and Frontierland. The Pumpkin Men first let the Pirates loose to create havic all over HalloweenLand, including their headquarters, Pirates of the Caribbean. Jack Skellington also get's in on the fun as he redecorates the Haunted Mansion, for the Christmas season. Also, included in this new land is the Columbia, now redecorated as the Black Pearl, as well as the grand-opening of the all-new Gracy Cruise Company (Mark Twain Riverboat)...

3) Walt Disney's Parade of Dreams: Villan's Take-Over: Now it's the Disney Villan's turn to 'haunt' (not enchant) guests of all-ages in this all-new parade. You won't be seeing any princess or prince in this parade. This time, it's all about the villans. Included in this new choreographed parade include Jafar (Aladdin), the Wicked Witch (Snow White), Malificent (Sleeping Beauty), Ursula (The Little Mermaid), Scar (the Lion King), the White Witch (The Chronicles of Narnia: LLW), and yes, Captain Barbossa (Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, At World's End)......

4) Mickey's Halloween Treat?: Yes, this treat will be transfered from DCA (as I will discuss more below) to Disneyland. Kids, ages 12 and under may 'dress up' as their favorite Disney characters and may bring buckets for loads and loads of candy as the Pumpkin Men, and even some of your favorite Disney characters will be handing out tons of yummy candy. Also included with this celebration is a remixed Remember... Dreams Come True firework show, with special Halloween surprises included.

DISNEY'S CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE PARK
"DISNEY'S FRIGHTN' CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE"

-Attention: DCA will not be open to guests 10 years of age and younger as certain scenes may scare easily. Guests with small children will have to arrive next door, Disneyland.-

1) Haunted Shore's Plaza (Sunshine Plaza): This is certainly not where you will find the Disney Villans. This is where some of the most the scariest scenes come to life (kind of like that at Knott's Scary Farm). The Sunshine Plaza area of the park will be transformed into the headquarters for this event, the Haunted Shore's Plaza. The Golden Gate bridge at the entrance of the plaza, will be somewhat distorted as burn spots appear and cobwebs mysteriously show-up. The Sun Icon will, of-course, have Spiders, and cobwebs all up and around the structure. The falls under the Icon will mystically be shut-down, and myst plus fog will be the only effects located their. Cobwebs and pumpkins will mysteriously find their ways upon the lamposts and benches. Skellitons and Pirates will roam amongst guests in this plaza. Also, a band named the BurnStoppers will perform in front of the Sun Icon.

2) A Frightning State (Golden State): The Soarin' Over California attraction will remain the same, except towards the middle where (while your suspended) everything will turn staticy and a weary voice comes and states "I am sorry, but we are experiencing minor difficulites. We will arrive back shortly." Then, the screen comes alive once again, but this time, the trees are burned down, it's night with a full moon, no one's around, and faint ghosts and noises will be seen and heard, also including a new haunted score. The Redwood Creek Challenge Trail will reopen as the Redblood Mazes Center (more towards that of mazes at Knott's and Universal). Grizzly Peak will remain the same. The San Francisco area will simply have a few devilish decorations adorning the buildings.

3) MysticPier (Paradise Pier): Mainly, Paradise Pier will remain the same, except for some things here and there. First off, new devilish music will be played throughout (even a new score for Screamin'), and a giant spider will make it's way over the 'sun' from the SunWheel. And all lights on the attraction will be orange, red, and purple.

4) The Ghosttown (HPB): Everything will remain the same except for new music and decorations. The ToT will feature new effects as well.

Downtown Disney will also have new music, and a few decorations as well. The CALIFORNIA letters will remain looking like Candy Corn.

So, how is this idea? Do you think it will work?

DCA:

What if parents allow somebody under 10 to under? Since most families who do visit the parks does have somebody under 10, that could cause not that many people to enter the park.

Haunted Shore's Plaza: I would actually change the name and not make it the main area for the event, that could cause major traffic issues.

The Ghosttown: I would rename it to something along the lines of "Haunting Hollywood Backlot". The effects would range from projections making the buldings structures to be worn down with broken glass, etc.
Maybe have lighting effects where streetlights are either flashing or out as a whole, making parts of the street be extremely dark.
The new HPB could be home to Hollywood's most famous monsters, if legal issues dont come into play ;)
ToT is basically spooky as it is :)
I would keep Monsters Inc open, but with enhanced lighting effects and characters that are played by cast members who actually pop out at you or whatever.
Keep the Disney Animation place and Muppets show closed.
Basically, the entire land should feel run down and haunted.

DisneyParksFan-
Well, I like the name Haunted Shore's Plaza, but you are probably right about it having too much traffic.
