Central Florida News 13 - Orlando, FL

There has been a lot of speculation for years that the Disney-MGM Studios theme park could change its name, but Disney says that won't be happening anytime soon.

It was first reported that it would become the Walt Disney Studios park after a naming agreement with MGM expired. Then, industry analysts thought the name would be shared by MGM and Pixar once Disney acquired the movie studio last year.

Disney confirmed that an area of the park will be named for Pixar once a new Toy Story ride opens, but the MGM name will remain for the entire park.

Well, I guess if Pixar rides MUST be crammed somewhere... Minus well put them in their own little 'land,' other than ruining other lands...

So, I wonder "how on earth are they going to be able to keep the MGM name"?

Not one name in Disney cited, not one reason given, and the article is author-less. I could have easily said 'Disney plans to announce that it's renaming New Orleans Square Port Royal in response to the popularity of the POTC film franchise' or something. Apparently even in print journalism, people can just throw things out there!

I personally wouldn't put any stock in this whatsoever...
