Here is the fourth in the series of "improving Disney parks" threads, this time focusing on Disneyland Resort Paris! As always, if you have your own ideas to improve the parks, feel free to add to 'em!

Here are my updates (the first post will focus only on Disneyland Paris):

DISNEYLAND PARIS
MAIN STREET U.S.A.
1. An Adventure In the Magic Kingdom: See the Disneyland improvements thread for information. It will play in the theater at Town Square. The only real difference between this version and Disneyland's is the language, to be played in French. There are headphones in the back of the theater for English and German translations.

CRITTER COUNTRY
A brand-new section of the park, themed to the American South.
1. Splash Mountain: At long last, the ride comes to France! See this page here (http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=110939) for all the details!
2. Beaver Bros. Explorer Canoes: The Indian Canoes return to the park as this new attraction.

ADVENTURELAND
1. Les Cabanes de Tarzan (Tarzan's Treehouse): Les Cabanes des Robinsons is now home to the King of the Jungle himself.
2. Les Excursions de la Jungle (Jungle Tours): A brand-new attraction, a trip through the jungle, a cross between the more traditional Jungle River Cruise boats and the edgier Jungle Land Trek jeeps.
3. Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye: A true Indiana Jones attraction replacing the Temple of Peril.
4. Pirates of the Caribbean: The attraction will be updated to include references to the characters from the film series. Now you'll meet Capt. Jack Sparrow and Barbossa.

FANTASYLAND
1. Les Aventures de Winnie l'Ourson (The Many Adventures of Winnnie the Pooh): A Pooh ride based on my idea on how to improve DL's Pooh ride. It will be located near Peter Pan's Flight and Alice's Curious Labyrinth to fit in the British section.
2. Les Voyages de la Petite Sirene (Voyages of the Little Mermaid): At long last, a dark ride based on The Little Mermaid finally comes to life! It will look exactly like the ride seen on the PE DVD.

TOONVILLE
Another brand-new section of Disneyland Paris, based on Toontown in both Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland. Toonville is actually a French-language name for Toontown, as seen in a French-language version of Who Framed Roger Rabbit (ironically, the French name for Toontown Online is still Toontown). It will be a carbon copy of my expanded Toontown from DL. Here, I will list the foreign names of the attractions and in parantheses translate them into English.
1. Le Aeroport de Dingo (Goofy's Airport)
2. Le Cabanes des Tic et Tac (Chip 'n' Dale's Treehouse)
3. Le Jardin d'Enfants de Dingo (Goofy's KinderGarden)
4. Jolly Trolley
5. La Maison de Mickey (Mickey's House)
6. La Maison de Minnie (Minnie's House)
7. La Remorqueur de Donald (Tugboat Donald)
8. Toon Park
9. Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin

DISCOVERYLAND
1. Les Indestructibles: Evasion de Nomanisan! (The Incredibles: Escape Nomanisan!): See the Disneyland improvements thread for more details.
2. Star Tours: See the DL updates for more info.
3. Tron 4D: See the DL updates for more info.

That's Disneyland Paris; what do you think?

Here's the improvements for Walt Disney Studios Paris:

PRODUCTION COURTYARD
1. The Great Muppet Movie Ride: This new dark ride will come to Europe. Unlike the Stateside versions, this version will also intertwine a few famous European films into the mix.
2. CyperSpace Mountain: A flight through your own roller coaster attraction, similar to the one found at DisneyQuest.

TOON STUDIOS
1. PhilharMagique de Mickey (Mickey's PhilharMagic
2. Fantasia: Le Tour (Fantasia: The Ride): A new major E-ticket water coaster ride themed to the classic film Fantasia. More on that later...

So, what do you think? If anyone has any ideas of their own, ideas on how to improve mine or even just opinions, feel free to lay them on me.

Walt Disney Studios

Dont they already have Cyberspace Mountain at Walt Disney Television Studios?

I would like to see the park receive more stage shows...more entertainment overall. Similar to Disney-MGM Studios.

Well, I would like it to have more live entertainment, just not go overboard, like they do at DisneySea. Maybe we could theme one of the shows to a Disney movie. I think they should do one on Pinocchio, kinda like the Snow White show they had at DL recently, only with Pinocchio instead of Snow White.

Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention one update for the Fantasyland of DLP: Small World, which will receive an update similar to the one HKDL is getting with its Small World that is being built there: Disney characters seen throughout the ride, peppered into the proper locations. And Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto will all be seen at the very end of the ride.

Here's a link to what the location will look like: http://img152.imageshack.us/my.php?image=poohdlpnv0.jpg.

The words are kinda crude, but it should give you an idea of what the exterior of the ride should look like at Disneyland Paris.

Seriously, can anyone respond to my ideas here? Please??

With all the rumors of Star Tours receiving a new ride, I've been thinking about what we should do with it. I've been thinking: given the number of each simulator per ride, how about putting a different ride into a different simulator? This way, it will be win-win. Here's a breakdown of which one will be which:

Flight 1: Endor, only to end up at Death Star (same ride as before)
Flight 2: Tatooine, Pod Racer from Episode I
Flight 3: Hoth
Flight 4: Yavin IV

Now, that's only the flights for Disneyland's Star Tours. But since this thread is about Disneyland Paris and that park's Star Tours has six simulators instead of four, here are two more flights for Disneyland Paris:

Flight 5: Naboo
Flight 6: Dagobah

What do you think?

I will add more at a later date, I promise. And no, monkey4057, I won't remove the air jet blasts from any of the attractions. What do you have against them, anyway?

And no, monkey4057, I won't remove the air jet blasts from any of the attractions. What do you have against them, anyway?

Well, frankly, it's an uncomfortable effect:frown:

If you've noticed, the force can be changed on different attractions. For example, the blasts on Figment go about a few seconds. But the ones in POTC & Philharmagic are about either 1 or 1/2 of second. For Figment, the first blast is a bit okay but the last one is kinda wild. But still, I've been on that 3 times. Now for the latter, those are intense. After experiencing Philharmagic my first trip, that is the only reason that my first time was my last. For POTC, I did go on it a few times but I hadn't experienced the blasts until my last time.

I haven't been on IJA for a couple reasons. The first is I tried it once but I only made it to the load area because the cars creeped me out for some reason. My current reason is because you are blasted with air twice in the ride:to simulate bugs and darts. I am sure the former is uncomfortable and the latter is like Philharmagic.

Luckily, these attractions can be easily bypassed, so that is not a big problem. My only problem is that it makes me nervous for Toy Story Mania. I can take the water effect and I'm guessing that the wind effect is like on Winnie the Pooh, but I don't know if air blasts will be an effect.

So there ya have it.
But a couple questions:
1.Does the cannon on Pooh's Hunny Hunt blast air?
2.When the Winnie the Pooh in MK blows the smoke ring, how come you don't feel a blast of air?

Well, frankly, it's an uncomfortable effect:frown:

Unfortunately, however, the effect is also useful to set the mood of the attraction. By removing the "uncomfortable" effect of the air blasts, I think you're just begging for trouble from the guests who do like it, or at the very least are not objectionable about it. Now, no offense, but now what's your excuse there?

But a couple questions:

2.When the Winnie the Pooh in MK blows the smoke ring, how come you don't feel a blast of air?

I never been on PHH, so I wouldn't know. I only seen it in videos. Maybe the MK Pooh ride's smoke ring is not meant to feel like air, but rather like smoke.

This thread is about DLRP, not the other parks. Sorry.

No way!

And like I said, I can bypass those attractions.

Sorry to go off topic again.

Just so you know, Fantasia: Le Tour is going to be the exact same ride as the one CoastaFreak entered in the Imagineering contests for Disney's Hollywood Studios. I'll explain what it looks like at a later date, I promise. All I can tell you at this juncture is that it's a ride that would definitely help WDSP recover.

I have decided to rename Toonville to just Toontown. Also, as part of that new area, the Roger Rabbit ride will have ALL of the updates seen in the Disneyland ride in California, as well as all of my ideas on how I would update it, which can be found here: http://www.visionsfantastic.com/forum/showpost.php?p=225578&postcount=51.

The main difference is not only the French language being spoken here instead of English, but also the license plates that hang just inside the entrance building will have new years on them. In Disneyland, the license plate years are (including my updated ones):

RSQRS (1940)
2N TOWN (1935)
MR TOAD (1941)
1D N PTR (1931)
DONL DUK (1934)
BB WOLF (1943)
1DRLND (1945)
IM L8 (1947)
CAP10 HK (1942)
101 DLMN (1946)
RS2CAT (1937)
3 LIL PGS (1944)
L MERM8 (1932)
FANTZYA (1936)
ZPD2DA (1933)
MRY PPNS (1939)

In Tokyo Disneyland, the license plate years are:

RSQRS (1931)
2N TOWN (1946)
MR TOAD (1942)
1D N PTR (1947)
DONL DUK (1934)
BB WOLF (1941)
1DRLND (1939)
IM L8 (1944)
CAP10 HK (1937)
101 DLMN (1936)
RS2CAT (1935)
3 LIL PGS (1945)
L MERM8 (1938)
FANTZYA (1943)
ZPD2DA (1941 again)
MRY PPNS (1933)

Now, I was thinking for the Disneyland Paris version, how about making the years on the license plates be the following:

RSQRS (1946)
2N TOWN (1938)
MR TOAD (1940)
1D N PTR (1939)
DONL DUK (1934)
BB WOLF (1942)
1DRLND (1933)
IM L8 (1941)
CAP10 HK (1932)
101 DLMN (1931)
RS2CAT (1936)
3 LIL PGS (1946 again)
L MERM8 (1935)
FANTZYA (1947)
ZPD2DA (1937)
MRY PPNS (1945)

Now, what does everyone think of my idea here? Notice how in my lists, they all show the DONL DUK license plate year as being 1934. That, of course, is a reference to the year in which Donald Duck first appeared on the scene.

Hey, phd516, I believe you said something like this:

BDF, your ideas are pretty cool. But do you really need to implement every idea into each of the resorts?
Looking at the three threads you just posted in, you've posted the exact same thing. So try giving each park some originality. You're pretty creative, but just try focusing on individual resorts instead of cloning everything everywhere.

Well, I was thinking for this, I thought I would come up with something kinda clever. Since both Disney parks on the Paris property would have Toon-themed lands (WDSP's Toon Studios and my proposed addition of Toontown for DLP) and they're not really too different from each other, how about connecting these two somehow by way of a transportation system?

What I was thinking of was a sort of Toon-themed version of Paris' Metro line. What happens is that at DLP's Toontown's downtown area (you know, where Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin would be), there is a set of stairs leading down underground into a Toon-themed subway that would take you to Toon Studios at Walt Disney Studios Paris. There, you come out over near the Cars Quatre Roues Rallye area. Of course, you would have to have your admission ticket ready, kinda like what happens when you board the monorail at Downtown Disney to go to Disneyland. And yes, the trains are Toon-themed and there are posters in both stations advertising for not just the attractions to do in the respective park stations (DLP attraction posters at the WDSP station and WDSP attractions at the DLP station, respectively), but also punny advertisements done in a classic Toon style. I think the ride would be called the Toon Metro Line. And the entrance and exit stairs are also Toon versions of the real entry- and exit-ways of the real Parisian Metro line. What do you think of that?

With all of the rumors floating around that Disneyland's Small World ride may or may not get Disney characters and a scene themed to the USA (replacing the rainforest scene just before the finale), like what's happening with Hong Kong, I'm thinking that another Small World somewhere in the world should do the same thing in terms of adding new characters. I'm thinking the one in France.

At the same time, the soundtrack will also be revised to echo the exact '60s soundtrack found in the other parks.

I find it amusing that you want to change the Swiss Family Treehouse to Tarzan's and include Jack in Pirates of the Caribbean... I find it bloody annoying that I have to go to an entirely different continent to experience them in their unadulterated forms! In fact, I kind of regret not having enough time at DLP to go on Pirates and experience one without Jack Sparrow one last time.

Unfortunately, I didn't spend long enough there to get a real lay of the land and a sense of what needs improvement. On the bill would be to restore some of what was once there but has since been taken out, like restoring making a new and improved version of Space Mountain's original "From the Earth to the Moon" theme. The present one is rather uninspiring.

I suppose I could see putting in some of the new pirate effects of Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer's Island on Adventure Isle, since that's a place where such effects would actually work. I would note that the Swiss Family Treehouse works more thematically on Adventure Isle than a Tarzan's Treehouse would, just on account of the Swiss Family story having more to do with pirates, which is the overwhelming theme of that whole corner of Adventureland. Actually, Adventureland as a whole. I could definitely see adding the Jungle Cruise to it though.

I dunno'... kind of hard for me to say because I thought Disneyland Paris' strongest feature was that it was so well and cohesively designed.
