Has everyone heard about the new Harry Potter Island at IOA?? This could potentially mean something new and exciting for visitors to WDW, don't you think? How do you think Imagineering will respond? Any suggestions/ rumors on what could be put at WDW to compete with HP? I hope they put a fifth park.

The title is awkward... Hogwarts vs. Cinderella?
What's next? Jedi Academy vs. Spiderman?

You can't. Two entirely different parks, with somewhat different target audiences. That's like asking comparing Six Flags to DL. While they're both theme parks, it's comparing apples to oranges.

I'm not trying to compare the parks.... perhaps I didn't explain myself properly. I was just wondering what you think Disney's response will be. As in, do you think they will react by building something new at Disney (e.g. new land/ attraction/ park even??) and if so, do you know of any rumors about what that could be? I guess the title of the thread was kindof wrong for that.

In order to compete you have to compare. That's what I was responding to.
As far as Disney is concerned. I think Disney's going to continue to do what they've been doing. Obviously they have to do whatever they need to keep up with the Jones's, but they are in a league of their own. They have something no other park can offer a legacy and a name with an impecable reputation (or close enough). It's not a name that will tarnish. I think they'll do what they need to to make sure the guests are happy, but not so much focus on taking attention away from other parks. It's keeping their own clientele happy and excited. If they don't maintain that, who would continue to go? I don't think Disney will see this as any sort of threat. I don't think they'd add a land or anything drastic such as that but who knows? Disney is always leaving us on the edge of our seats.

Disney sets the bar for the rest of the competition. Always has, always will.
