A while back I had heard rumors of a Jungle Cruise feature film being produced or written by people involved in the 'Smallville' tv series, or something.... I dunno, anyone else hear of this project?
Personally I think they're really dropping the ball if they let this opportunity slide by. An adventure film based on the humorous mishapps of the Jungle Cruise Line would be very well recieved in my mind's eye.
Thoughts, information, anything?

I would agree with you except, from what I heard, even Eddie Murphy didn't quite pull off the Haunted Mansion movie. I think the Jungle Cruise concept could be a lot of fun (kind of campy with the jokes, maybe?) but I hope they wait for the right writer and cast.
IMDB (Internet Movie DataBase) has Jungle Cruise (http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0870154/) it as "in Developement" for 2009 with no details.

I'm with you on this one - I think it has fantastic potential in the right hands. We'll just have to wait and see...

I'm hoping for 'Mickey & Friends Parking Structure: At Handicapped Section's End'
...which would later be followed by 'Mickey & Friends Parking Structure: Curse of the Guest of the Day Space'...which would also feature a debut of exciting new changes to the outdated & worthless Mickey & Friends Parking Structure which the original film was based on...
...which would later be followed by 'Mickey & Friends Parking Structure: Dead Tram's Bench'...which would also feature the new "Toll Plaza's Lair at Lilo Parking Lot" which would revitalize the aging Lilo parking lot that no one cares about anymore.

i have to agree with the general consensus here... a JC movie could ROCK! but only in the right hands...
the HM movie was a semi-sorta-almost-kinda-decent film, it just was obvious that the project was rushed a bit, and it left you wanting more... (the final product looked like a disney channel movie, not a theatrical release...)
so lets hope for some great actors, and a truly gifted production crew.
Hey it sounds like a great idea if it is in the right hands!
PMM dude that relates nothing to the topic do you like the sounds of a JC movie or not? Being that this post is off topic, it sounds like your not a big pirate's fan...so why would you want a parking structure movie sounding like pirates...lol!
Dude why so much pirates bashing coming from your way?
well its better to make a movie about a ride than to make the movie then the ride...nobody is ever happy! So if i am hearing right from most of you not ALL but MOST you wont ever be happy. Most thing just stop messing around with Disneyland and stop the new and the changes...well that is just wrong to think because it WILL NEVER HAPPEN. Disney does it to change the park and try different things, like Walt would wanted, and to bring in people, witch it does very well, witch brings in $MONEY$...duh...so Disney will never stop doing this until it stops bring in people and of course money. The reasoning behind the movies are that of relationship to the film and the movie that kids and many fans of anything like. It is the same reason Universal is building a Harry Potter park at Universal Orlando. So it just doesn't happen in Disney it happens everywhere!
So a Ride in to a Movie is always a good thing...at least its better than a movie in to a ride, with that ride being just like the movie with no new story "Monster INC".
oh well what ever...it doesn't really have to do with Walt at all it has to do with what makes $$$ for Disney...and that probably would, not saying that should but $$$ talks for everyone. and the reason why they did it is because it is a relationship to the movie and younger ones along with a few old want to know where Jack Sparrow is in the ride when they get off, this before the layover(as stated in the special fetchers in POTC2) that is the reason for it and it was a big success so if another ride makes it to movie it may happen again because of the relationship ride to movie and of course $$$.
I believe Disney will always be Disney no matter what goes on. change is for the better even a few may not like it and if many don't like it, it may change back but when people keep coming Disney will keep doing what there doing! It is all what the majority of people like not a small portion of Disney fans, this including my self that may not like it!
I don't want something like "Eddie Murphy is a business man who is to busy to spend time with his family...Until he wins tickets to a boat guided tour of the jungles of Africa, a tour guided...by Robin Williams"
What I'd like to see is an African Queen remake, or something in the same style as that

^^ Well, you wouldn't have to worry about that. Robin Williams doesn't want to be involved with Disney Productions anymore

Personally I would love a film theme to the Jungle Cruise, but your right, it does have to remain in the right hands.
Anyways, sorry to get off-topic, but I would love to see a remake of the Haunted Mansion, however a bit more serious, less humorous, and more mystery. Mabey a film about the Phantom Manor????

A JC movie would be awsome , but I'm afraid that whoever is directing the film won't do to well with it , and it might turn out to be lousy .
