Well here goes nothing!
The ride is simply perfect as it is but here's a quick idea...I think they should add more color to the ride. The lighting is good but more is better! Just more color lights!
And maybe no it is fine as is either way...
I LOVE SPLASH MOUNTAIN!

Which version of the ride are you talking about? That might help make it easier.

Yeah, I kinda figured you were talking about DL, but I just needed clarification. Anyway, yeah, I guess the color is a bit dark at that. I think the walls symbolizing the sky should be repainted sky blue, dotted with clouds, just like in FL. And we could have other colors in other areas to intensify the themeing, like when Brer Bear gets the beehive on his nose and swaying back and forth in pain. We could have red lighting here to symbolize pain.
And I'll tell you what, maybe we should talk of other ways to improve the DL ride, too. In fact, maybe we ought to make a group project out of this.

^ That sounds great! I think I remember Florida's (I went when I was like 7) wait.. was it open that long ago? Maybe it was just a video on youtube.. anywhoo, it would be great if they gave it a nice paintjob. I love the idea for the sky, that would be very pretty!

Well, no, that would be stupid. ;)
Spots like "How do you Do" and the Laughing Place would be nice with a splash of colour.

Instead of painting the clouds, how about projecting them like in POTC?

Either would be good I guess but I prefer paint because I believe paint has more color than projections...
On the other hand paint can make movements so IDK.

Even better. How about adding to the sunset at the end the image of a rainbow?
I actually like the earthy feel of Disneyland's Splash, it's as if the story is taking place inside the mountain itself instead of the mountain just being the exterior.

How about having the Laughing Place scene be ladened with jewels to kind of make the area really shiny?

I think that is a superb idea! Jewels would make it that much more interesting. Anyways, also add a little blue lights mabey fading in and out near the lift for the major drop off (w/ the birds talking) just giving it a little new effect...

Speaking of the big drop, how intensifying the drama of the situation by having thunder and lightning effects as you make your way up the hill? :icon_twis It probably won't be as evident in the daytime, given the light at the top of the hill, but it will be VERY evident at night. :icon_twis

I just wish they'ld put in the missing anamitronics the had planned in the beginning. As you are rapping around the outside of the main building, wherever there is a flat, open space, originally there was planned an animatronic in that spot.

I guess it had something to do with the elements. Rain could threaten the AAs if they were outside. I wonder how they protected the animals on the Jungle Cruise. Maybe they could do something like that.

Actually, it was due to Izner budget cuts. When they were building the ride, my Dad worked for a Landmark shop that did theme parks internationally. There's a reason why most of the animatronics were salvaged from "America Sings" rather than built new.

And I know what that reason is: Tony Baxter. You see, the idea of Splash Mountain was his own brainchild. He came up with it while trapped in rush hour traffic one summer's day in 1983 on his way to work. He was thinking of how Critter Country (which back then was known as Bear Country) had nothing but Country Bears and Canoes and those two attractions were ones that were not truly worthwhile endeavors. Meanwhile, over at Tomorrowland, America Sings was getting a little bit long in the tooth (if you will) for a Bicentennial show and its attendance has declined majorly. On top of that, the Santa Ana winds were blowing big time, which only made his hot drive even hotter. He was asked to come up with a log flume attraction for Disneyland, but since most other average parks had something like, he knew this one had to be special. He eventually decided on a log flume attraction themed to Song of the South and it would make use of the AS characters scattered here and there in the ride. The rest, as they say, is history.
Of course, not all the AS characters made the move to Splash Mountain. When Star Tours opened, in the queue area, there are two robot figures with binoculars for heads. They are G219 and G214. Their bodies and feet actually have a weird design to them, like they have tail feathers and webbed feet. This is because they were originally two of the geese in AS, stripped down majorly.
Oh, and by the way, it's not Izner, it's Eisner. Is that what you meant to say?
