How do you get the code?

You had to sign up for the beta a while ago, and they just emailed codes. I signed up, but it was a while ago like I said, and in that timespan I picked up my MacBook Pro and therefore can't play this anymore =(.

No one knows how they picked the testers. Just certain people got codes.

No its more like Toontown. And you have to be 18 or older to beta test?! Snaps

And you have to be 18 or older to beta test?! Snaps

No, you just have to have someone 18 or older approve you by entering a credit card. The card will not be charged.

No, you don't. I'm in BETA, and I never had to use any credit card.

Does anybody else have this problem? When I log in, it loads, and when the game actually starts, it just closes. Then it says "Game closed abnormally" I can't play anymore...

When did you get your conformation email? Everyone that I know in Beta had to enter a credit card number.

Sorry to say, I'm pretty sure they're done giving out codes. Plus, it seems as though they only sent codes to people who signed up 6+ months ago.

Disneyknight467

then they shouldn't even have a Beta Registration anymore.

reillysix

then they shouldn't even have a Beta Registration anymore.

There's no real way to straight-out sign-up for Beta. They are allowing people to create accounts, but these are full fledge Disney accounts. The registration on the site isn't Beta registration, it's simply to create an account that can be used once the game is out, but from those accounts they pick Beta testers.

Even on the link that says, "Want to sign up for the Beta Test?" doesn't mean that your specifically put into a list of accounts created from that link.

The link that says, "Want to sign up for the Beta Test?" takes you to the exact same page as if you hit "Sign-up" from the regular Pirates Online (http://disney.go.com/pirates/online/index.html) website.

Yeah I noticed that like a couple weeks ago...which was when I shouldda signed up lol. Wikipedia says its going public tomorrow, but disney said Q2, and said before the 3rd pirates movie came out the game would be out. Wassup with that?

I wouldn't take that Wikipedia page to literally. Disney has not told anyone the exact release date--not even Beta testers. With Wikipedia anyone can edit that page to say any release date. There are also WAY to many bugs to release it tomorrow, but you never know.

Disneyknight467
05-31-2007, 06:22 PM
exactly. But seriously, They shouldn't even have said anything in the beginning. The game IS NOT out yet and the movie is already out and the release date was officially Q2 Spring 2007. That means tomorrow is the end of spring...right?

reillysix
05-31-2007, 06:37 PM
Disney never stated that it would be released alongside the movie, plus Spring ends June 21st.

Disneyknight467
05-31-2007, 08:19 PM
They planned to have it released with Dead Man's chest but decided not to. Then they said it would be out BEFORE the 3rd movie was out.

That is very good to hear. So far alot of people over at gamespot hate it severely because of "PS1" graphics, and the game's bugs. But It looks awesome. They got voice acting right? I saw a video clip that was on Youtube for a while and had a cutscence where Jack Sparrow tells you about tortuga and stuff.

Open chat isn't ready yet. It will be like Toontown where you have to get codes to open chat with people.

I think it's ready. I saw people chatting away using real english.

I used the Disney DXD thing... still nothing. Oh BTW, If you wanna play together, set a place to meet and the district (world). My IGN is Will TrueDavis.

Just a review and question:

The game is awsome, it laggs and horrible fps at the moment. But it will get better. The animations are wicked.

Questions:

When is the actual release?

Will it cost money to play online?

Whats the highest level you can get to ?

Thanks

^ Here's your answer:

Well, here it is, Feb. 4th and still no new Disney.com
Now they're saying 'Coming Spring 2007' at www.piratesonline.com (http://www.piratesonline.com)

John Frost at The Disney Blog (http://www.thedisneyblog.com/tdb/2007/02/disney_releases.html) says:
Disney Online has released the pricing structure and other details for Pirates Of The Caribbean Online, a new massive multi-player online role playing game (MMORG). There will be an ad supported free level and a $9.95/mth Unlimited Access level. The game is scheduled to go live this spring.

Disneyknight467

Yeah but you can play free (with ads) or get the subscription (same as free play just no ads)

reillysix
06-07-2007, 05:27 PM
Yeah but you can play free (with ads) or get the subscription (same as free play just no ads)

With ads you can't play full screen and you have WAY less features. So no, free isn't the same as pay-per-play. :P

Disneyknight467
06-08-2007, 05:22 PM
but which would you rather do? Someone open a poll!

BCC
06-08-2007, 08:44 PM
Free version does not give you the full story. So it's not worth it. Well, it isn't worth anything lol.

Disneyknight467
06-09-2007, 09:48 AM
seriously? What do you mean? You get more cutscenes when you're a subscriber or what?

You can't go to all of the islands when you play for free.

"oh my gosh...I'm gonna bore myself to death because I'm not allowed to go to Rum Runners Isle"

Your basically stuck on Port Royale when you play for free. Like on Toontown, if you play for free you can leave Toontown Central.

Disneyknight467
06-11-2007, 04:27 PM
eh better than nothing, but then again you are playing the beta..

BCC

Yes, it's not really pleasant either because quests are not finished and everything. The lag is unbearable. So.... It's not pleasant...

Disneyknight467
06-11-2007, 04:50 PM
Hopefully it'll be out sometime this month...and hopefully not until a next pirate movie comes out (basically saying the game will NEVER come out lol)

reillysix
06-11-2007, 11:21 PM
With beta you can go everywhere, just like you are playing a paid account. Once the game is out we have to start with a new account, you don't get to keep anything, and you are at a free account stage.

BCC
06-12-2007, 07:16 AM
^Are you sure of that? We don't get a special offer email thing?

Disneyknight467
06-12-2007, 07:29 AM
^You probably will since you helped test the game.

Disneyknight467

Yeah, you'll probably get special items or something. It would kinda bite if you didn't get anything for testing the game, helping in its (hopefully) future success.
