New Disney line of bridal wear

Bridal studio gets dress deal with Disney (http://www.gainesville.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070222/LOCAL/70222017&SearchID=73272965524834)

Solutions Bridal Designer House in Winter Park will be the first store to carry 35 gown designs based on characters like Cinderella and Snow White as Disney enters the bridal market.

Owner Newell Fox quoted Disney officials as saying they get 83,000 requests a year for some type of fairy-tale wedding - "everything from pulling up in Cinderella's horse-drawn carriage to the low-end." Winter Park customers often buy a gown and "go right over to Disney and get married," he said. Fox said Disney contacted him after visiting the Winter Park shop.

The Disney line will be introduced during the annual New York Bridal Market Week on April 15, Fox said. Disney will then host a "trunk show" staffed by Solutions Bridal at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort before the line is offered through the store in late April or early May.

Another store will also carry the new line near Disneyland in California.

I would most definetly buy there if they had somewhat like Belle's yellow ball gown dress. Im totally excited about this idea.

Ack! Why can't they premiere these designs sooner?! I'm looking for good inspiration for my gown, but I need it at the end of July. *sigh*

I can't wait either, my dream is to get married in front of Sleeping beauty's castle. If I can have a dress that looks like hers would be the icing on my dream wedding.

I was going to pay to have a designer design a disney dress for me anyway but hopefully these will be pretty enough that I won't have to pay all the extra money! I wonder when they'll show pics.

Visit the Collections tab to see all the various designs. Personally, I have difficulty distinguishing between the various gowns. I'm not a wedding gown expert, but I am a costumer. Features that I identify with particular princess costumes are not present (ie the puffy sleeves of Snow White's gown). The Jasmine and Ariel styles are easily identified, but then have much similarity within each category (to be expected, I guess). My favorite is the Belle gown with the softly rouched skirt.

Beautiful but I think Belle's are the closest. Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty just look like normal dresses.

Dena Kirkland made an appointment at Solutions Bridal Designer House before her fiance, Justin, had even popped the question. With or without the ring, the 21-year-old Titusville bride-to-be knew she wanted to be among the first to see the new line of Walt Disney Co. wedding gowns, which made their national retail debut Friday at the Winter Park bridal boutique.

"It's so new. That's one of the draws," Kirkland said as she tried on a strapless number inspired by Disney's Sleeping Beauty. "No one else has it."

The dresses are on display at Solutions Bridal through Sunday, as the first part of a national tour of the princess-inspired gowns.
