Well i am not sure the Year of a Million Dreams should be considered a real celebration. Events like the 50th, Millenium Celebration and 100 Years of Magic were milestone celabrations. In my opinion this year of a Million Dreams thing is just a desperate marketing gimmick to bring people in after the 50th,not a real celebration. I also think both castles have seen enough decorating for a while.;)

The Year of a Million Dreams is more a promotion than a celebration. No need for special decorating IMO.

honestly i like the year of million dreams better than the 50th aniversy the castle had too many things on it and it looked bad. But since the cinderella castle suite opened i think the castle needs something. Sleeping bautycastle is getting rocks in the moat that look like clouds with colored leaves on them here is the link http://www.laughingplace.com/Showpic.asp?filename=http://www.laughingplace.com/lp/lotion/pics/SS20070205-DLAround/big/P2-0002.jpg&caption=New+decor+in+the+castle+moat and http://www.laughingplace.com/Showpic.asp?filename=http://www.laughingplace.com/lp/lotion/pics/SS20070205-DLAround/big/P2-0003.jpg&caption= ENJOY!

I don't think they are doing anything with the actual castle, but SBC is just getting the 50th gold off.

I do not think Cinderella Castle needs a decoration for the year of A Million Dreams.

Think about it, if they decorated the castle for every event or celebration, there would never be the regular castle. As of late, it seems like there's always going to be some sort of major promotion taking place at the parks.

Plus, the castle just got a new coat of paint...isn't that good enough? ;)

I thought of something for it. But I don't have the drawing I did anymore. It was a doodle I did during my classes(don't worry, I payed attention).

Can you explain what it was though...like give a verbal explanation?

You know the ribbon like stuff, the roses, the ropes, and the pretty floral stuff that they had on the castle, well, I was bored so I drew the castle, and drew the stuff they had on the castle(without the characters), but with sky blue, silver, blue, and black blue color on it. And I also had Tinkerbell on it(where she was for the 50th anniversary) and the glitter sparkly stuff they have resembling Tinkerbell's pixie dust trail.

They need to leave it alone. After the wand tragedy I dont trust disney with decorating things anymore because they dont take it off. lol
I was suprised the 50th decorations came down.

^Well, it was for 18 long months. So they have the right to take it down after 18 long months. But they still have the firework spetaculars that they had for the 50th anniversary.

The Wand was not as bad as some people make it sound like. I actually liked it but its time for it to go. While we are on the subject of YOAMD decorations. TDA recently removed all of the tacky Dreams Come True decorations from Disneyland and Disney is re-launching the campaign next year since it did not go so well this year. So it looks like the era of Tacky over-the-top park decorations is over.;)

It wasnt that bad at first. (2000) Instead of adding the Epcot writing to it, it should of been removed in 2001.
Thank go the era of Tacky over-the-top park decorations is over :mickey:

Personally, they should just leave the castle alone.
It's fine the way it is.
They should only decorate the castle for events like the 50th ...
But thats just my personal opinion.. !

The fact they decorated the castle for Disneylands 50th. I bet when its WDWS 50th a lot of people are going to be confused thinking wait a minute i thought the 50th was 17 years ago. I wonder if they will decorate SBC for WDWS 50th.

wow that looks really good(your drawing) and at disneyfreak 59 they give away the suite in the morning, and i also believe that the castle didnt really need any decorations for the 50th at all that was really meant for DLR!i also think the YOAMD is much cooler than the 50th my littlebrother is now an honary member of the hundred ace wood now! and my new friend is the guy that made his dream come true, he was part of dream sqaud!but i forgot is name!
