dpreview.com is understandably a little skeptical, but this SUB $300 is supposed to have, not 1600ISO, not 3200ISO, but an astounding 10,000ISO rating.

I can't wait until they get their hands on it!

I mean, I really like Olympus, and they have really great engineers who can squeeze the dickens out of the lens and ccd, but 10,000ISO???

"This I gotta see".

DOES ANYONE EVEN READ THIS SECTION OF VF ANYMORE???

What ISO do our eyes get anyways? heh.

Finally found an article. Says an eye is roughly the equivalent of 800 ISO at night and 1 ISO during the day. Nice :P

And it sees in over 576 megapixels resolution(given a 120 degree field of view.. the eyes really get around 180 degrees but we're not staring at the detail of all 180 degrees at once etc)

10,000 ISO? That's nothing short of amazing, really. It really makes you wonder, with its sub-$300 price, how low prices on cameras will drop in coming years. I hope that film doesn't die out completely as digital takes over the market, though :icon_conf (with raising standards and lowering prices, though, that seems to be the latest trend)

...what's the grain on that one going to be like?!

I would hope that it would be at least somewhat usable at 7000 ;)

5000?

The 10,000 sounds incredible but as Kirsten pointed out, the grain - wow. To get that you have to drop from 8MP to 3 MP so you have lower pixels to help clean up the picture in Photoshop.

It's widest f stop is 2.8 so you lose there some.

Sounds interesting and I can wait to see it function, but as the review pointed out, unless they rewrote the laws of physics, there will be some serious picture quality reduction.
