Walt's Laugh-O-Gram Studio soon to be a museum

Renovation of the building in which a young Walt Disney created Mickey Mouse is nearing completion. Dan Viets, president and secretary of Thank You Walt Disney Inc., said Wednesday that the Kansas City-based group hopes to complete renovation of the two-story building within six months. The local group wants to turn the renovated building into a museum that would commemorate Disney's original Laugh-O-Gram Studio and include an interactive animation laboratory to educate children and adults about the art and history of animation. Viets said the group hopes to reach that goal within three years.
