I was at WDW from 12/8-12/14 and me and my family got to see a new show "Monsters Inc Comedy Club". It's next to the Buzz light Year ride and is similar to the crush show, but alot better. It opens for real in 07, but we got to get a sneak preview... I have no pictures (sorry).

Have a great New Year everyone...

according to this:
WDW's Monsters, Inc. attraction put on hold (http://www.visionsfantastic.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12707)
The attraction is being re-tooled because,
ahem, it's just not funny.

^^i hope it remains unfunny too. maybe if this attraction fails, WDI will finally realize that they need to get their act together and not just rely on the Pixar name to make people come to an attraction.

I've talked to some people who i'd consider the General Public and even they said when I told them about this, "What's with all the Pixar?" and when I went on to tell them about Midway Mania, they still complained about the overuse of Pixar. so obviously now the Pixar oversaturation has began to reach the GP.

Does this mean ANYTHING to you WDI?

Well, everyone was laughing pretty hard so it couldn't have been that bad....

^^but will it be funny the 2nd time you see it? that's what i don't get. what would influence you to go back again if it's the same jokes?

I was just referring to the articles I linked to saying that audiences didn't react the way they wanted.

I read on one of the universal forums that it was pretty bad. Disney realized that making every age group laugh is hard. Childish jokes will make the kids laugh but annoy the parents while more complicated jokes will make the adults laugh but the children dont get it. Also Pixar is pulling me further and further away from disney. Everytime they add some new pixar thing I consider not spending the 200 something dollars for a pass. I was going to get Disney this year but the Living Seas with Nemo at Epcot made me get Universal instead. Universal has a wider variety of rides.(example.. Magic Kingdom has Dumbo, and The Magic Carpet of Aladin ride which are both completely the same. At Universal both parks have completely different rides. also Universal Studios dosent rely on just Universal movies for their rides, Twister is WB, Shrek is Dreamworks, Men in Black is Columbia.)
I wish Disney would go back to the classic style by pulling everything Pixar out of Tomorrowland because they dont belong there except Buz lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. Original rides like Space Mountain, Big thunder, Splash Mountain, and Small World are favorites and they dont resemble Pixar or any movie in any way. Except Splash Mountain is from the movie Song of the South. But the rest are great and dont have anything to do with movies. Im not saying I dont like the movie rides I love those but its just getting to the point where its overdone.

If someone ever figures out what this attraction has to do with Tomorrowland, or any sort of concept of the future, please let me know.

Laughing technology; the way of the future.

actually, the Imagineers thought of how it would fit into Tomorrowland sorta well. Monsters have nothing to do with the future, but they made it so it's like the Comedy Club is the Monsters home base in Tomorrowland's city (cause it's supposed to be a space port). so as you walk up to the Comedy Club, the outside is Tomorrowland-ish and you approach a door (like one from the movie) that allows you to be transported into the Monstropolis.

intersting concept. WDI made it work the best they could i guess.

but still...monsters are not futuristic.
