Rare Characters

I was browsing through images on Photobucket and found several recent pictures of Chip and Dale in their Rescue Ranger outfits that apparently originated from the WDW Resort. The latest image I was able to find was from 2005. Does anyone know if Chip & Dale still do meet-and-greets in their Rescue Ranger garb?

Also, are there any other characters that can be seen at WDW that can't be found at DLR? This could include common characters in different outfits or even character meet-and-greets that we don't get in California. I've seen several people get their pictures with Lilo AND Stitch and Chip AND Dale, which is nearly impossible to do at DLR.

Chip and Dale appear together all the time at DLR. When I worked Goofy's Kitchen we ALWAYS had Chip and Dale together! As a matter of fact, they don't send out just Chip or Dale, they always send out both!

At the parks, they are rarely together anymore. Last time I was at the park, only Chip came out for meet-and-greets. The only time Chip & Dale were together was when they did a little performance in front of the firehouse. I've only been to Disneyland once in '04 or '05 when both chipmunks were together.

I've asked at City Hall before and they said Chip & Dale split up so they can see more people. But a lot of the time, they tell me Chip & Dale won't be out at all that day. Now I think I'm really lucky if they're actually out when I'm there!

And as far as Lilo & Stitch (I know you didn't mention them, but...), even when I went to Aloha Breakfast, they said they didn't want the two of them to be together because then everyone would crowd them and they wouldn't be able to do their "rounds." I've just timed my visits towards the end of lunch when there aren't many people left so that they don't have a problem with it. :icon_conf

Chip and Dale generally do split up, for exactly the reason above - so they can see more people. In the past, I've found them in the tent at Toontown together, though. And if I recall, they were in their Rescue Ranger outfits in Adventureland, although that was awhile ago so that may have changed.

As for Lilo and Stitch, in the past they've been out near Pizzafari at Animal Kingdom. They were also out at the Animation Building around the time that the movie came out, and they were always together there. I also saw Elvis Stitch once, coming out for a private party at Disney MGM-Studios.

Other rare characters... Darkwing Duck was coming out in Animal Kingdom for awhile. Launchpad and Rebecca Cunningham make appearances on occasion, too, although that's less common. And near the Hat at Disney-MGM Studios - I've seen a lot of random characters come out there, some of which weren't all that common (at the time, anyways). Miss Piggy and Kermit are out regularly at WDW. I know they've been at DCA on occasion, but it's a daily thing at WDW. And I met Shan-Yu once when Cinderella's Surprise Celebration got canceled due to rain, but the rain stopped in the middle of the announcement so they sent the show's characters out for a meet and greet. WDW also regularly has the Country Bears (Liverlips, Shaker, Wendell, and Big Al) out as well.

My experience with the WDW characters is a few years old, though, so I'm not sure what all has changed since then.

Well, yeah, they don't stand side by side the whole time they are out there, but usually (and it has obviously changed since I worked there) they are sent out in the same area together so you can see them both at relatively the same time.
