I work for Sears Portrait Studios and we're dressing up for our Hallowe'en themed weekend (last weekend in October) and I am looking at costumes... I want something fun (for me) but also kid friendly... and that naturally equals Disney lol...

thing is, I'll be moving around a lot and I work up a sweat in slacks and polo shirts under the hot lights... so how 'heavy' are the Disney Hallowe'en costumes?

Ok when I was little I used to always dress up as something Disney..

Kindergarten- Buzz Lightyear
First Grade- Woody
Second Grade- Meleficent the Dragon
Third Grade-Evil Emperor Zurg
Fourth Grade-Sorcerer Mickey
Fifth- Mr. Incredible.

You get the point. (Sadly I dressed up as a blue alien for 6th grade)
But anyways the costumes aren't very heavy, they just make you sweat ALOT. The only real hot costumes are the ones that wrap all around your body and face.

Well it all depends on the costume that you get. Naturally a head character will be heavier than a face character so you might want to think about which character you want to be first.

true, but I was just thinking about the material of the costumes...

Daisy Duck looks pretty light...

How about Peter Pan? A tunic and tights.
Or Wendy...a Nightgown.
Pocohantas...a (one-layer) dress.
Tiger Lily (from Peter Pan)...ditto.
Any Princess...a dress, but no bad headgear.

above all, HAVE FUN! And THANKS for working so hard to make all the families' pictures wonderful!!!

I need to come up with something for school that day. Two years ago everybody on the staff (about 50 of us) did a Where's Waldo? thing. We all had red and white striped shirts and round fake glasses. Everyone then finished the costume with what we had at home. Kids had to figure out which teacher really was Waldo. It was really fun and we need something like that for this year. We already did "Talk Like a Pirate Day" last week and the teachers (more than the kids) dressed like pirates. Maybe we could wear ONE item symbolic of our favorite cartoon character and let the kids guess who we are. Hmmm...

i remember that, that day was fun, everyone in the striped shirts. at my school so far, we have not had any fun days like that. why dont yuo convince the staff to have a "disney day", everyone dressing up as a character? i guess that would be similar to the cartoon day, but a little diffrent

i want to dress up as a HM CM, love those green and black stripes....

I don't have the body to be a princess lol
I thought the Queen of Hearts or Maleficent would be fun... but that would scare the little kids lol...

I went as Indiana Jones last year. I remember when I was Darth Vader for two straight years. I do not know what I will dress up as this year. The Darth Vader years were great. I carried a red Light Saber like him. The Second year I was him my cousin was Darth Maul.

I have been almost every Disney Princess (except Jasmine, it's too cold). But this year I am going as a Mouseketeer. I have a black skirt, a white turtleneck that will soon have my name on it and my golden ears to top it off.

Talk Like a Pirate Day! that's my birthday. :)

Anyway, that sounds like a lot of fun! That's sooo cool, I wish I was that creative at costumes. I would say a scavenger hunt, but I don't know how that would relate to costumes, unless you tell the kids to get signatures from a certain person (who would be like, a teacher in costume) or something? I don't know.

I'm going to be Jasmine this year. :)
