My husband and I went to this sale up in Burlington, WA last week. We got a few cool things, but boy was it inundated with 50th Anniversary merchandise!
We have shopped this sale every year for the past 4 years and to be honest, I found the merchandise in the past to be a lot better than this year. They had a whole wall of medical type "scrubs" and rows and rows of polo shirts that had nothing to do with Disney. Anybody else gone to this sale, either in Burlington or elsewhere? What was your experience?

The Disney Character Outlet comes to Sacramento Area each year too (around October) and they ususally have a ton of great stuff. They also carry stuff from Universal and other things too because they aren't just a "Disney" outlet. Their company buys stuff from lots of places and goes out and sells it. The Disney stuff is just the biggest draw!

When the sale gets to Sacramento this year, let me know what you think of the merchandise this time around. In the past, we have bought tons of stuff--it was a great sale. This year, I was disappointed.

I don't know much about this. Is it some traveling merchandise vendor who unloads at various places at various times? It sounds like a great chance to obtain some difficult-to-obtain stuff.

I don't want to discourage you from going, Kirsten. They said they were getting a huge shipment in and maybe it will be better stuff. The sale lasts until Oct. 8, so maybe wait until then end of Sept or very early October and then go check it out--it might have much better merchandise =)

That's exactly what it is, Matt. And in previous years, we bought tons of neat stuff: pennants from different California Adventure "lands'', Disneyland t-shirts and sweatshirts, various Disney characters plush, etc. This year, however, they had nothing like that and I was disappointed.

Oh you know I'll check it out.
Last year I got the Walt Disney World HO Scale Train set for $25.00 regularly like $65.00 in the park. Plus a couple of clothing items.
Last year they had a lot ...and I mean A LOT of toys....so I'm hoping there's more clothes and such.

The store is run by a company called AMS Liquidation. Their website is:
www.ams-liquidation.com
There you will find all the information you need on stores near you, coming soon near you, etc.
You can even join their mailing list under the "Contact Us" option where they would then mail you a postcard that lets you know they are coming to your city and when!

Twice this year I've gone to the DCOS in Lincoln City, Oregon. Great stuff. I've gotten a sweet 50th sweatshirt, a 50th watch, a 50th gold vehicle Jungle Cruise pin, a DCA long-sleeve shirt, and a Disney's Animal Kingdom baseball cap. Unfortunately, this particular store closed up shop a week or so ago and is moving to somewhere starting with a "P" in California. During my second visit there I talked Disney shop with the CM at the register. Facinating.

I got some New Year's 2006 Mouse ears for 29 cents and all of the golden ride vehicle Christmas tree ornaments for about $3.99 each. I had been hoping to buy Disneyland t-shirts and merchandise that did not have the 50th logo on them, but they didn't have any. If anybody hits the sales in either Fullerton or (coming soon!) Pomona, I'd love to know what kind of stuff they are selling!

Buy it when you see it! We had one of these stores in my area a few years ago and I'm still kicking myself that I didn't buy all the Nightmare Before Christmas miniatures when I was there the last time. I didn't know it was truly going to be the LAST TIME. Two weeks later I went back and they had packed up and moved on.

Did you know that expression actually got it's start on an old comedy show from about 20 years ago called "Second City"? The segment was called "The Great White North" and starred the same actors that do the voices of Rutt and Tuke (Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas.). Just a little trivia for ya =)

The segment was called "The Great White North" and starred the same actors that do the voices of Rutt and Tuke. Just a little trivia for ya =) They, in turn, were spoofing a real show called The Great White North that played very late at night. It featured two old guys talking to eachother about ice fishing and whatnot. Why it played so broadly I have no idea, since it was below the quality of any local public access cable tv show...

Yes I did, I even performed as Bob with a friend of mine who played Doug in High School in several skits. I have "The Great White North" album at home along with the movie Strange Brew and the soundtrack to Strange Brew at home. I'm HUGE fans of Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas. My wife even bought me a beanie Rutt and Tuke at our local 99cent store! Go "Bob & Doug McKenzie"!

I've been there on my last two trips to Disneyland. We go and get some of the spending mania out of the way before actually walking into the park.
I think it's a pretty good store. They have quite a bit of 50th stuff right now. They have tons of shirts - childrens and adults. They also have a glass counter to the right of the entrance with some more expensive discounted items. I have seen tons of toys, hats, and they even have a few displays full of pins!
I went to the outlet in Las Cruces, NM a couple months ago. They didn't have as wide a selection as the SoCal store, but I was impressed by the amount of things they had. There was only one back wall with non-Disney items at our store.
If you have a chance, I would definitely advise you to drop by. You can even get a 10% discount Coupon from the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau! (http://www.anaheimoc.org/Articles/Archive/Webpage10153.asp#shopping)

I stopped at the Burlington outlet on the way home from Vancouver today... LOVED it! I'd been eyeing those Sorcerer Mickey football jerseys in the parks for a long time, but was never willing to cough up $50... was thrilled to find them on sale for $12! It would have been nice to see more park CDs, though - the only one they had was the Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular CD.

That's because the company that runs these sales is not a Disney company.
Disney just sells them the stuff and they in turn sell it to us.

So I went and investigated the one closest to Disneyland today. It was ok...slightly underwhelming compared to Company D, but very similar to it. They had some interesting clothes from the past, as well as gold mouse ears for $5 & some other knick-knacky stuff.
I got a 50th t-shirt (the blue one) for $14 marked down from $20 (I'd seen it as high as $29), a pack of 50th postcards for $3.75 marked down from $5, and a 50th Castle lanyard metal for $4.89 marked down from $8.50. All in all, not too shabby...

Anyway, at this sale yesterday, I got a t-shirt that said "Space Mountain 1977" on it with Mickey Mouse on the front for $8, marked down from $19. I also got a long sleeve red t-shirt that said Disneyland on the front for $5 and that originally sold for $28, plus a sterling silver Pluto charm for my bracelet for $4, marked down from $12. There were also some awesome POTC play sets--5 different ones--that inlcuded 4 different pirates and the Red Head. Those sold anywhere from $1.99 each to $4.99 each! If I had a place to set those up, I would have bought all of them!

Yep, that's the one. It was a pretty clean store, but it was still a warehouse outlet. The store asthetics aren't a priority in places like that. Merchandise was ok. It's all old stuff, some stuff older than others. It was like how I'd imagine Disneyland doing a garage sale.

So I went last night to the one that just opened here in Sacramento.....boy was I disapointed! If you were a small or medium shirt, you'll be in T-Shirt/Golf Shirt/SweatShirt/Jacket Heaven! They had about 85% clothes, 10% "Stuff", and 5% collectibles. They had several boxes of Gold 50th Ears if your interested. A 50th hat I paid $20 for in the park, was still $17 there....just not what I was expecting, IMHO last years "loot" was much better.

I think we have something similar. We have a Disney Discount sort of thing that comes every year, only once a year though. Pretty nifty stuff there gotta say.

^^ You're killing me and Jen-Ness! I've been meaning to go to the one by Disneyland, but I forget to bring the address every time I'm over there. Everyone is getting so many good deals, and here I am spending $30 plus tax for one shirt at the park!

As much fun as the deals are....there's still no beating being at the park and getting souveniers from the park itself!
Thanks for the updates Timmy ll  Lovin the Avatar with the Fab 5 autographs!
I'm still beaming over meeting them! I've even told total strangers that I met them! :)

A New Disney Character Warehouse Opened at the Great Mall of Milpitas today. I purchased several items today. 1 5piece Lithograph set of The 5 Decades of Disneyland $55. A bronze sclupture of Adventureland $22 (at park was $75) a leather Photo Album with a Bronze decorative piece Disneyland est. 1955 on the front cover. several other albums for my many photos. Some xmas ornaments from 2005-06. The store owner gave me a nice 2006 Christmas Mug, it matches one of the ornaments I bought he said I should have it so he gave it to me. He was in a happy mood today. Either that or maybe I was buying so much he wanted me as a regular customer? Anyway I had fun shopping there today.

I KNEW I should have stopped by the Anaheim one on Wednesday. I bet I could have found a pink or lavendar lanyard ("That's last year's color!") and I'm still kicking myself for not buying the popcorn bucket with Jiminy Cricket.
Oh, well.

I FINALLY went to the Outlet store in Anaheim today! The total was almost $100, but luckily I had a 10% off coupon. I bought two sweatshirts (Mickey's Halloween Treat and 50th anniversary), a Stitch jacket (kiddie size, but it fits!), a gazillion Stitch keychains, Stitch mug, 50th picture frame, Stitch pin and 3 golden Mickey ear keychains. I saw a girl at the park put the mini Mickey ears on one of her stuffed animals, so I plan to do the same with mine!

I put those tiny gold ears on one of my teddy bears, too! There's a veritable army of miniature mickey guests out there! I have a couple that I'm planning to work into a scrapbook, too. Just haven't figured out how quite yet.

Sadly, (or as my wife would say "luckily") the Outlet store has packed up and departed from Sacramento. But no worries, they will be back again next year. Which gives me a whole year to set aside money to spend there again! :)

The Disney sale opened again in Burlington, WA today and BOY did we buy some cool stuff! We bought 2 sweatshirts with the Where Dreams Come True logo on them for only $9.99 each ($34 at DL) plus we got a POTC t-shirt for $6.29 ($28 at DL). We also bought my son a lined Disneyland jacket with Pluto on it for $13.00 (reg $46) and a cool POTC book for $5.19 (reg. $27.95) plus a lot of other things. What would have cost us $293.95 plus tax for everything we bought only cost us $79.27!! Check it out if you live in the area--it is an awesome sale!

CB, weren't you looking for a Disneyland train set? I saw one there today. Let me know and I will check it our further for you! =)

Thanks Piglet I have been looking for a train unfortunately I saw one in the Emporium years ago that I fell in love with and it was not for sale. So ever find something that you just compare everything to? I am looking for a 0 gauge train that has the look of one of the trains that are in Disneyland. I don't know if there are any out there at all. Worth a look though if you go again I will be interested to know what they have and how much they want for it. Thanks again

Did they have a big selection of stuff?( in Burlington) Last time i was there, it was all 50th stuff..
Piglet
03-12-2007, 03:06 PM
No, they have a HUGE selection this time, and it is not all 50th stuff. A lot of the merchandise is regular Disneyland souveniers, totebags, t-shirts, etc. plus the shocker was finding the "Where Dreams Come True" sweatshirt for only $9.99. The sale goes until April 15.
And CB, I was at this sale again last Friday and the only train set I saw was a special edition 50th anniversary one. Each car was about 3'' wide and 7" long. Does this sound like something you might be interested in??

Thanks for looking for me Piglet. I am tempted because of the 50th to check it out. I enjoyed the 50th Celebration of Disneyland so much it might be the perfect train to put up at Christmas. I will have to check into it. Did you notice how much they were asking for it?

i just went to the Burlington outlet this afternoon! I got a book(Disneyland- Then, Now , and Forever) for $4.49 (reg. $24.99), Gold 50th Minnie Mouse ears headband for $1.99 (reg. $19.00), tinkerbell key chain for 49cents (reg $3.00), stitch key chain for $1.49 (reg. $6.00) and the best buy was a Disneyland zip hoodie with just plain red Disneyland lettering that was reg. $46.00 in the park for $8.99!!! I was really surprised to find something like that because most of the stuff is from Disney's 50th or other dates..and this was just a plain one.. There is a lot of cool stuff there this time. If you're in that area, you should stop by!
