The last show was on 08/19/06. When the show was ended people obviously booed, and their response was met by approval when the cast decided to let one more contestant on the hot seat.

I read the topic of this thread and thought, "hmmm...I thought Millionaire closed over a year ago." Then I noticed you meant the Disney-MGM version of Millionaire. Now it all makes sense. I guess that show just isn't popular like it used to be.

Disney MGM has really had a hard time using that area to its fullest potential. Not only with Millionaire but the Soundstage area as well. First it was One Saturday Mornng then it was my favorite Monster Sound Show with Chevy Chase and Martin Short then Sounds Dangerous with Drew Carey. I guess its hard to keep things that arent fun fast and flashy

Strange oddity here:
DCA's Millionaire closed 8/20/04
MGM's Millionaire closed 8/19/06
Almost.

Aww man... Oh well. Good thing I went to the hot seat! And I will not have any incentive to go to WDW anymore.

I think I read somewhere on Wikipedia that one of the possible reasons why it was closed is because the Annual Passholders might come back to play for multiple prize chances. Though, their can be many reasons for its closure.

Wikipedia allows people to just put whatever reason they want up and there's no accountability. Annual Passholders was the snow job reason we were fed, not the real one. You don't end a show because people come back to see it again.

It did close for Midway Mania. That whole area is now a construction zone like underneath our California Screamin' is.

I really am disgusted wih this whole midway mania thing. What the heck does toy story & arcade games have to do with disney movies? they really should build something more original, like a new sound stage show.

what is this midway mania ride going to be like?

I read somewhere it's supposed to be sort of a shooting gallery ride like Buzz Lightyear. I agree with jagfkb that they should build a new sound stage show.

Maybe they could use it for concerts or something.

Or maybe they're already building the new ride, too late now. It's all about the general public anyways, do they want a show or a ride? A ride. Obviously the exit surveys for Millionaire weren't turning out too great, so they decided to make a ride.

Yeah... I actually enjoyed the atraction which used to be where that god forsaken millionaire show was (The studio walkthrough. Where they filmed shows and showed props) . I'd rather ride it's a small world till my ears drums commit suicide... LOL Kudos to Disney for shutting that garbage down.

Well...thanks, but I'd hardly call the cool pins, baseball cap, polo shirt and unique memories of actually being in the Hot Seat that I have garbage...
And I could have won a free cruise on the DCL. Nothing garbagey about that...

Millionaire was a fun show. It was great even of you weren't in the hot seat.
It wasn't about the prizes (which were cool) it was more about the experience.

I never liked nor did I dislike WWTBAM. But if they are giving us an after thought ride like I heard. I will be angry
