View Full Version : Which Disney Movie is Guaranteed to Make You Cry?

Which movie can you not watch the whole way through without having to "get something out of your eye"? I have three main ones:

1. Dumbo: Who can watch this movie without crying? This movie makes me bawl. I have "Baby Mine" on my MP3 player and when it plays, I have to skip it or else I'll start crying.

2. Fox and the Hound: How sad is this storyline? Two friends who aren't supposed to be friends? So sad.

3. Bambi: Makes you hate yourself for being human. I used to think, "Oh my gosh, we killed Bambi's mom!"

I know that Disney made at least ONE movie that tugged at your hearstrings. Which one was it?

Don't forget Old Yeller. That's just mean.

And Lion King? "Dad, you gotta get up!" Chokes you up every time...

Oh yeah, and Toy Story 2, when Jesse recalls when somebody loved her? Oh, man...

Jeez, Matt...:old_wink:

OK, for me it's Bambi, Dumbo, Lion King. If I ever saw Old Yeller I've repressed it because it was too sad. Haven't seen the others but if something dies, I cry.

One time we watched The Fox and the Hound in class, and I started getting a bit teary. Then everyone in the universe looked at me and said "Please tell me you're not crying!"

So after a bit of everyone's "friendly" teasing, I just told them: "Don't be envious just because your heart is made of stone, guys."

And I think the room got just a bit warmer as all of their hearts slowly melted...through their eyes!

All of the above (except Home on the range  I don't know I just never saw that one. ?) you really hit the ones I thought of first! OH the Dumbo Baby of Mine and When Somebody Loves You songs definately make my eyes water! I am So Sensitive! I also tear up in Tarzan when Tarzan finds out about his real parents with Kala watching and Phill Collins Sings "You'll Be in My Heart".:(

None of them make me say pass the tissues but I do get teary.

i think it was a disney movie, but the journey of Natty Gan made me have some tears, though the reason was that she found her dad, and not that some one had died

Ol' Yeller makes me teary eyed, The Lion King and Dumbo make me depressed, and Toy Story 2 makes me sad.

I've cried at pretty much all of the above (Home on the Range for very different reasons);) I also have cried at Lilo and Stitch, Lady and the Tramp (when Trusty gets hurt) , and Finding Nemo. One odd one that I got teary at was the Incredibles. The Frank and Ollie cameo in that movie got to me right after Frank Thomas died.

The Fox and the Hound is the only one that will actually make tears come out. The Lion King is sad, but not so sad I cry, and finding Nemo also has some pretty depressing moments. Other than that, nothing.

Air Bud

I LOVE AIR BUD. It just has such a great atmosphere with basketball and with Josh. It also has one of the best movie scores! I bought the soundtrack off ebay!

Kevin Zegers is cute!

I don't CRY at movies, but I AM soft enough to get the ol' lump in the throat and maybe my eyes get a little moist...

Jungle Book when they think that Baloo is dead... and Bageera is euligizing him....

Lady & The Tramp when Trusty gets caught up under the wagon wheels of the Dog Pound Wagon and the horse hooves... and the 'camera' pans back and the scottie dog starts howling in the distance...

Finally, Incredible Journey when the young pup and the cat make it back to the family... and the boy is looking for the Golden Retriever, but you just KNOW he couldn't make it out of that pit because he was too old and the trip was too long, and he'd hurt his paw... and then he comes limping out of the forest into the older son's arms.

aw geez.
*sniff*

funny, I have been known to bawl at the end of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" for weeks in a row... but never at a movie.

Dumbo's Baby Mine still does it to me all the time.
Been so long since i watched a lot of the classics i can't really think of anything else though heh.

I was so mad at Brother Bear. I disliked a lot of its approaches to the plot and they were taking so much for granted and then after the 3 brothers are hugging each other it shows the little bear getting to hug his mom that had been killed and I burst into tears. It felt like a cheap shot the way they'd been treating the rest of the movie and they didn't deserve that reaction for anything :P

Yeah, but not for the reasons Toratorakisa had in mind =)

yeah When somebody loved me from Toy Story 2 makes me cry, i love Sarah Mclauchlan she has a sweet and soft singing voice.
I have to totally agree with you here. That song makes me cry and especially when they show Jesse's face during it when she feels so loved and then WHAM she's given away =( That kills me, she's just so sad. Dumbo makes me cry too, especially during Baby of Mine because when my son was a newborn I used to rock him and sing him that song ::::sniff:::: Last of all, Beauty and the Beast always gets to me--I just love that story!

All of the movies listed above make me do anything from welling up a little bit to full-out crying. Those little sentimental movies get to me a lot, whether it be a sad song, someone dying or getting hurt, someone interacting with or remembering their loss, separation, animals in certain situations, and more. :icon_cry:

Okay, here is a list of all the Disney movies that made me cry:

-Snow White- when all the drawfs kneel at her coffin, take off their hat and bow their heads
-Lady and The Tramp- when you see "poor Nutsy takin' the long walk"
-The Jungle Book- it was Walts last movie (sad enough) and when everyone thinks Baloo is dead ("Baloo, get up. Please get up")
-The Fox and the Hound- Widow Tweed's "Goodbye may seem forever, farwell is like the end, but in my hearts a memory and there you'll always be"
-Beauty and the Beast- When Belle declares her love for the Beast
-The Hunchback of Noter Dame- when the little girl comes up to Quasi and touches his face, then hugs him
-Tarzan-when Kerhack (did I spell that right?) dies
-Pochantas-when Pochantas sees John Smith before his execution

I also almost cried at the end of Dead Man's Chest when Bootstrap says "if anyone could've beaten the devil, I thought it would be you"

Hands down, Fox and the Hound will make me tear every time. Setting him free into the reserve, and then the aftermath of the bear attack.

The story is very poignant and true to real life. It's similar in the movie Mrs. Doubtfire where the family doesn't come back together in the end. Sometimes there isn't a happily ever after.

I also have a soft spot for "Baby Mine" in Dumbo and "Kitty!" in Monsters, Inc. Perfect...

I walked in on my 8 year old son watching Brother Bear the other day and he was a little teary eyed. I asked him what was wrong and he said nothing and kind of sat up straight, I think he was a little embarrased. I told him that everyone cries at certain movies even me and he let a few tears flow freely. Special moment!

I just watch Pochahantas (Spelling?) and I take back what I said. I don't cry during the scene where John Smith say "I'd rather die tommorow then live 100 years without knowing you". I cry the last 15 minutes (or roughly around that point) of the movie, from the time that Pocahantas and John kiss to when you see her on top of the mountain doing that slow wave to John and then you see him wave back at her.:icon_cry:
