If you've been to Epcot, you've probably noticed Wonders of Life, well, the past two years i've been there, it's been closed, anyone know why?

They decided the attendance wasn't high enough to merit using up all the staff hours required to keep it running. Shame though, lots of cool stuff to see & do in there.

I think they run it seasonally or something. perhaps a new ride should go in there.

Rolly Crump, a Disney imagineer, had some incredible ideas for this pavilion, originally called "life-health" pavilion. There would be a ride through the human body's systems sort of like Adventure Thru Inner Space but much more elaborate and a lot of other great stuff which I fail to recall at the moment. Disney decided it would cost too much so they built this one, which IMHO was the best pavilion on that side of Future World by the time Horizons, World of Motion, and the original UOE closed.

I remember when I visited Epcot in August of 1998. It was right before I started the 4th grade. That pavillion was so much fun! I remember they had a video in there called "The Making of Me" which I think was a fantastic sex ed film, haha.

Everyone (well maybe not) likes to joke around about "The Making of Me" just because it was a film that talked about sex. Have people never heard it put that way before? Or is it just funny for Disney to talk about it?
Well anyway, Body Wars was the highlight of the pavilion for me. I wish it was still there. Just like I wish Horizons, UOE original, World of Motion, Kitchen Kabaret...

^^Hmm body wars was taken out of the pavilion right? I liked body wars. But im guessin that body wars is gone bc they shipped the sims over to hong kong or something for star tours. I think thats where they went. I liked that place but it its just going to sit there they should get rid of it.

Well the pavilion is offically closed so everything in there is probably still sitting there. Well, I mean most of the "fair stuff" was probably removed and the entraces to the attractions and most likely blocked off. It would probably a sad site to walk in there and take a look at the place now. What I really don not know what happened inside there.
They shoulod probably replace the pavilion since it's just sitiing there. I heard something about a whether pavilion... just a cool rumor.

Disneyworld.com still shows it on their website as a current attraction (but only open seasonally). I have been there since it got this designation in different “seasons” and it has never been open. I read a rumor somewhere about this being demolished along with UoE to create a new attraction in that space. Who knows? Not I – I’m in Texas after all!
I thought Body Wars was OK (I always liked Elisabeth Shue) but I really miss Cranium Command. It got pretty dated (I think the “kids” in the attraction are probably old enough to have their own kids that same age by now), but it was still funny and entertaining. I LOVED General Knowledge…..
WoL is closed and not to return without a massive change and/or a new sponsor.
Disney lists it as seasonally because of building permit issues. Once they list it as closed they would have to re-permit it. Listing it as seasonally keeps options open.
Body Wars has been removed as has some of the signage from the fair. I can recall at least one sign that has found a new home in the JII w/ Figment ride.
UoE just has new carpeting laid down (early May) so I do not think that pavillion is going away anytime soon.

Surprise, surprise! Wonders of Life is coming back to life...for a little while, at least. WDWMagic is reporting the pavilion will reopen from late-November to New Year's Eve. Anybody going to Epcot around that time better bring their cameras (both photo and video)...

Oh no! I think our WDW trip is in Jan, before New Year's! :frown: I would really want to run around in there again!

Hmm, from what i've heard from the last ep. of trapped on vacation. The Wonders of life is supposed to be open currently, but it is only open seasonaly. And also I went there a year ago and it was open but there wasn't very much to see. There was a play ground. I saw three tubes there one was sweating cool, one was warm and the other, the highest, was hot. Though it looked like a plain warehouse to me.

It is open, despite what VF's refurb board insists on saying ;). January 1st is its last day open as of right now.

the wonders of life was deserted when we were there in 2003. Not a single line for anything. It was great for a thrill junkie like me, an entire simulator all to myself on body wars.
