Hiya, folks!
I just got a Sony DCR-HC96, and I was wondering if any of you use an infrared lamp on your camcorder's hot shoe.
Does it make enough of a difference to be worth it?
Also, do the CMs freak out when they are looking through their infrared monitoring cameras and see a giant light (that's what it looks like to them) on rides such as Haunted Mansion or Pirates?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

if you use an infrared lamp on top of your builtin infrared, ya the CMs will prolly freak out. I haven't been stopped yet with my camera's infrared light(hc96 as well) but I might just be lucky.

I used my built in infrared light on Tower of terror to capture the expressions on my teenage daughter's face as we dropped in the dark, pretty good stuff, lol. Good thing I was holding the camera and not her :)

I have used the infer red on my Sony DCR TRV103 Digital 8 camcorder in the Haunted Mansion but it makes the color green and white, I wished it was in full color.

Been a while since you asked this, but I actually have the additional light for the flash shoe on my digital 8 camcorder (it also doubles as a regular light in daylight). I never got yelled at in HM, and the video came out pretty well... It just tends to send it out in a 'block' that appears brighter on the screen. It probably could use a better diffuser in front of the lamp.
I agree that it'd be sweet if nightshot wasn't all green. But that's the way it is. I didn't even know paris hilton was a blonde the first couple years...
